PHP - If Command Query Doesn't Work
Hi all,
Perhaps, let me briefly explain what I would like to achieve. Currently I am using INNER JOIN command to link 4 sql tables 1) tutor_overall_level_subject.sql 2) tutor_subject_level.sql 3) tutor_level.sql 4) tutor_subject.sql In tutor_level.sql, there are 11 'level_id' level id 1 == Pre-School level id 2 == Lower Primary School level id 3 == Upper Primary School level id 4 == Lower Secondary etc.... As you can see from the code below, I am trying to retrieve 'lower primary' records only and place it in a table Subsequently, 'upper primary' records and place it in another table However when I executed the code, I receive a blank page. What could have gone wrong? I've got this mess of a page I'm trying to manipulate to add a feature to. When somebody goes to this page, it pulls all records. At the top, I added a way to refine the results by dates. That query works fine, I tested it in mysql. To avoid fighting with the original code, I created an if statement to create $query_selectAll. But when I put it in the page, it would just refresh with the same data. I echoed the query to make sure it is correct. Then I realized that there was another query, $query_selectAllItems, further down the page that was generating the results, and none of what I was doing made a difference. But I'm not sure why it's ignoring my query or how to work around this. Hi, this query runs fine when I run it from PHPMyAdmin: UPDATE `tran_term_taxonomy` SET `description` = (SELECT keyword from `good_keywords` ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1,1) WHERE `tran_term_taxonomy`.`taxonomy` = 'post_tag' AND `tran_term_taxonomy`.`description` = "" LIMIT 1 However, when I run the same query in a PHP file on my server, the page doesn't load at all. The message I get is: www.somesite.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500. This is my PHP code:

I'm trying to update every record where one field in a row is less than the other. The code gets each row i'm looking for and sets up the query right, I hope I combined the entire query into one string each query seperated by a ; so it's like UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '1';UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '2';UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '3';UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '4';UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '5'; this executes properly if i run the query in phpMyAdmin, however when I run the query in PHP, it does nothing... Any advice? $Row[2] doesn't work but if I use $Row["linkcat"] than it works fine. Is there somewhere to activate in the php.ini file ? I've browsed the net and made sure I'm connected to the database before the function is called. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The database entry is correct, except, when I check the database or echo the result I get the same thing that was entered into 'commentbox'. For instance, if I enter "I am very 'confused' by this" into the box, the same string will be found in the database table. No slashes, just quotes. Anyone have an idea what's wrong with this? Because it all seems simple and correct but doesn't work. I've written a script where it counts the page impressions on my website. When a visitor lands on the page, it counts their impression and then sets a $_SESSION so that if they reload or return to the page it doesn't count it again. But the problem is it sometimes does. Does this mean that the $_SESSION isn't being set probably? That's what it seems to be. And if so, what would be the reason for that?
