PHP - How To Get Image With Custom Font To Show Up On Browser?
I need to be able to create an image from user input. I have found a couple of samples that purport to do that but when I copy the code I can't get it to work. I would appreciate advice as to what I am doing wrong please.
One example I tried is from a tutorial on this site: http://www.phpfreaks.com/tutorial/php-add-text-to-image Now perhaps there is something I am doing wrong when I call on the image that is supposed to display but given that I have tried the same code with other images and it works I can't see what I am doing wrong, unless there is something in the nature of scripts that requires some extra steps. Here is my code to see the image (note that 'myscript.php' in my code is in the same folder as the code I am calling: <html> <head> <title>Using Images Created by Scripts</title> </head> <body> <h1>Generated Image Below ...</h1> <img src="myscript.php"/> </body> </html> Can anyone help? Hi I use fake IP to check if my 503 custom error page works but it doesn't?. I have another question should i stop people from hotlinking to my rss feed which is also sitemap? and stop people from hotlinking to my robots.txt?. Thanks
RewriteEngine on Hi, I'm new to PHP so sorry if it is difficult to understand my question. I've just added a new custom field for my website home page (home.php). I've image link inside that custom field and now I want to display that image at Home (Home.php ). Please let me know what code/loop should I add in home.php to get that image display with size of 100*50 px . I hope you understand what I meant to. Thank You. not sure if this will find an answer but I am posting anyway. Any help is appreciated....my coder has left the team and no matter how I invite her to come and do some bug squashing, her new schedules won't fit a re-visit into my little aplication...I am eager to delve into the codes at my very low knowledge of php. I have initiated reading and is still trying to teach myself...but of course not as fast as the app needs the patch...here's the meat: I want to place Custom background image for embedded media player Can anyone help me? I'm sure it's not much, but I'm not understanding something with custom error handlers: I've created a custom error handler, which I initially set when my page loads : set_error_handler(array ( new ErrorHandler(), 'handleError' ));
It seems to catch all internal PHP errors, such as if I: var_dump($non_existing_var); right after the set_error_handler.... Now, I have an object that throws an exception after: set_error_handler(array ( new ErrorHandler(), 'handleError' )); $locale = new \CorbeauPerdu\i18n\Locale(...); // this should throw an exception ... I thought that with an error handler set, I could 'skip' the try/catch for it, but doing so, PHP spits out in its internal log: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught CorbeauPerdu\i18n\LocaleException: ....
My error handler doesn't catch it at all before, thus my page breaks!! If I want it to go through the error handler, I have to init my Locale with a try/catch and use trigger_error() like so: set_error_handler(array ( new ErrorHandler(), 'handleError' )); try { $locale = new \CorbeauPerdu\i18n\Locale(...); // this should throw an exception } catch(Exception $e) { trigger_error($e->getMessage(), E_USER_ERROR); } ... Is this normal ? I thought one of the goals of the error_handler was to catch anything that wasn't dealt with? Thanks for your answers! Hi, I have some images that I want to resize to a square dimention (40px 40px). However, not all image are square, so when they are resized, they lose their ration and look squashed. Is there a way I can display just a part of the original image, say 40px x 40px on the top middle of each image? I hope that makes sense Hey guys i have a query echo (empty($row['deal'])? "empty": "not empty"); //result not empty but i need it to show the "not empty" if its "deal". by default it is a "1" when i select the row to be a deal it updates the table and inserts "Deal". Hi guys, I have page where it echos out the image url from mysql in a MAMP Server, however when i echo the image url out it seems to be fine but as soon as i put in a img scr it wont show the image but it shows the container. I have the code here Code: [Select] <div id="maincontentholderbottom"> <div id="maincontentholderbottom-index-left"> <div id="news-container"><ul> <?php $select=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM news"); while($get_news=mysql_fetch_array($select)){ $newsid=$get_news['id']; $title=$get_news['title']; $text=$get_news['text']; $newsdate=$get_news['date']; $newstime=$get_news['time']; $imagelink=$get_news['newsimagelink']; $newstext=substr($text, 0, 420); echo"<li><div id='title'>$title</div><div id='newsblock'>$newstext... <a href='http://localhost/mycomputer/create/news/index.php?id=$newsid'>Read More</a></div> <div id='newsimage'><img src='$imagelink' width='150' height='70'/></div> </li>"; } ?> </ul> </div> </div> </div> Do u know why is it like this? I appreciate your help in advance. Thanks! Hey everyone, I could use some help with this one.. I need to create some php code to switch images when a certain page loads. For example: These are the pages, test1, test2,test3, so when you click on the test1 link in the navigation a certain image would show up : something like this: If test1 exists then show image1.jpg If test2 exists then show image2.jpg If test3 exists then show image2.jpg. I am doing this in wordpress and I can't figure out the if then statement.. Does anyone have any ideas?? thanks Hi again probably a very simple code but not working. I am trying to show a default image "fabric.jpg" if the recordset is empty. If not empty it shows the recordset image at a size of 100X100. This is the code I am using and have probably left something out, any ideas? <img src="<?php if ($row_Recordset3['fabricpicture']==null); echo "<img src='graphics/fabric.jpg'>"; ?>" alt="" name="fabric" width="100" height="100" border="0" align="bottom" id="fabric" title="Selected Bottom Up Blind Fabric" /> I have tried switching the img scr both "" and ' ' but still no joy? I'm working with a lightbox plugin to show images when thumbnails are clicked on. The plugin works by wrapping the thumbnail in an anchor tag that has the href as the direct path to the full-size image. This acts as a non-js fallback, so that if JS isn't present for whatever reason, the user still sees the image. When JS is enabled, the image is shown in the lighbox, resized to fit in the lightbox, which is a variable size depending on the browser.
I need to keep a record of the number of times that the image has been clicked on, as thumbnails will be ordered by the number of views. The problem of course is that I'm directly linking to the image, so I can't put a script on this page.
I've tried two things instead, neither of which worked:
1) Instead setting the target as the path to the image, I set it to a PHP script, then outputted the image in an <img/> tag. The problem was that the image is then not resized according to the size of the lighbox. So this is no good.
2) I set the target of the lightbox as a PHP script which recorded the viewing of the image, and redirected to the image page. This didn't work either, as the lightbox showed the data for the image (text) instead of the image itself.
So, I've hit a bit of a barrier. I'm wondering if I can set something up in my PHP settings that will automatically call a script when hitting images, or maybe something in an .htaccess file that will do the same, but I'm not aware of if this can be done, nor how to do it, and I haven't found anything yet with my googling. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks.
Edited by haku, 26 August 2014 - 07:00 PM. I want to show a cookie of a referral's username on a sign up page. The link is like this, www.mysite.com/signup?ref=johnsmith. The cookie doesn't show if I go to that url page. But it does show up once I reload the page. So I'm wondering if it's possible to show the cookie the first time around, instead of reloading the page? Here is my code. // This is in the header $url_ref_name = (!empty($_GET['ref']) ? $_GET['ref'] : null); if(!empty($url_ref_name)) { $number_of_days = 365; $date_of_expiry = time() + 60 * 60 * 24 * $number_of_days; setcookie( "ref", $url_ref_name, $date_of_expiry,"/"); } else if(empty($url_ref_name)) { if(isset($_COOKIE['ref'])) { $user_cookie = $_COOKIE['ref']; } } else {} // This is for the sign up form if(isset($_COOKIE['ref'])) { $user_cookie = $_COOKIE['ref']; ?> <fieldset> <label>Referred By</label> <div id="ref-one"><span><?php if(!empty($user_cookie)){echo $user_cookie;} ?></span></div> <input type="hidden" name="ref" value="<?php if(!empty($user_cookie)){echo $user_cookie;} ?>" maxlength="20" placeholder="Referrer's username" readonly onfocus="this.removeAttribute('readonly');" /> </fieldset> <?php }
I am displaying rows from a database onto a page using: while($row=mysql_fetch_array($query)){ echo $row['name']; } I need to figure out how to limit the rows shown to the page to 100. And if there are 100 rows on the page, a link will be displayed at the bottom, that says "Next 100". Then this will display the next 100 rows. Can you give an example how to do this please? Thanks Hi, I would like to do the following but not sure how. If the you/user is on index.php of http://www.domain.com/ show one page If not show another How would I do this? Thanks Hi , I know my code sucks but i'm learning fast!! I'm trying to show a form if the qty value in a database == 10 or a different form if the value ==20. I tried but failed. Any help really appreciated. I've read somewhere that this is possible with a PHP script, but which one? If you can get me on the right track, I'd really appreciate it. Cheers. I am in the process of learning MySQL and PHP. I have a real-world application that I would like to develop for someone using MySQL and PHP, provided I can end up with the necessary user interface for the application. The user will be launching a web browser to start the application. The application will be developed for two purposes: to record employee information (name, contact info, category of worker such as: cook, dishwasher, server, host) to record the hours worked by each worker for each day and then generate a report that can be sent to the accountant by email or fax Since the interaction will take place in a web browser, what are the possibilities as far as having customization for the text fields (controllable size of text field, larger than the form element), having start and end times with the colon symbol inserted automatically, to name a few. When a text field is inserted via HTML, the rectangle is rather small. Can the default sizes of form elements be enlarged? Is there a way to use PHP to edit html without having to store it in my DB? For example I would like someone to be able to edit a paragraph on the page, its wrapped in a <div class="editable"> now is there a way to have PHP detect that div and have an textarea to edit it directly without having to store anything in a DB? I hope that makes sense if it doesn't let me know! Thanks |
