PHP - Search Term Corresponds With Radio Button Selected
I want to let user to choose the checked box, so they will type in the words in the box, and select the radio button to limit their search. How should I approach it?
$search_words = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['search_words']); $query = "SELECT name,login_id,password,email FROM User WHERE name LIKE '".$search_words."%' ORDER BY name ASC"; // my query to display the necessary fields $result = mysql_query($query, $conn);//get results $result2 = mysql_query($query, $conn);//get results $resultCheck = mysql_result($result2,0,0); ?> <p align="center" class="passwordsummary_header"> User's Password Summary <table width="302" border="1" align="center"> <tr> <td width="229"> <form method="post" action="search.php" id="searchform"> <div align="center" class="label"> <p>Search: <input name="search_words" type="text" id="search_words" size="30" maxlength="20" /> <input type="submit" name="GO" id="GO" value="Go" /> </p> <p> <input type = "radio" name = "namesearch" id = "namesearch" value = "AM" <?php if($name == 'namesearch') {echo "checked";}?> > name search</input> <input name = "loginidsearch" type = "radio" id = "loginidsearch" value = "loginidsearch" <?php if($login_id == 'loginidsearch') {echo 'checked';}?>>loginid search<br /> <input type = "radio" id = "emailsearch" name = "emailsearch" value = "emailsearch" <?php if($email == 'emailsearch') {echo 'checked';}?>> email search </input> </div> </form> </td> </tr> </table> </p> <?php if ($search_words != "" && $resultCheck != "") { echo "<table width='650' border='1' align='center' cellspacing='1'> <tr><tr> <td class='passwordsummary_label'>No</td> <td class='passwordsummary_label'>Name</td> <td class='passwordsummary_label'>Login ID</td> <td class='passwordsummary_label'>Password</td> <td class='passwordsummary_label'>Email</td> </tr>"; $i = 1; while ($row = mysql_fetch_row($result)) //use loop to get the results { $name = $row['0']; $login_id = $row['1']; $password = $row['2']; $email = $row['3']; ?> <td class="passwordsummary_info"><?php echo $i;?></td> <td class="passwordsummary_info"><?php echo $name;?></td> <td class="passwordsummary_info"><?php echo $login_id;?></td> <td class="passwordsummary_info"><?php echo $password;?></td> <td class="passwordsummary_info"><?php echo $email;?></td> </tr> <?php $i++; } echo "</table>"; } else { echo '<p class="results">No search results</p>'; } Similar TutorialsHey in my edit page i have 2 radio buttons in my form and i need to make sure the same value is still selected how can i do that? thanks I would like to know how to do search terms. For example, someone key in the terms in the text field, and click search, thn it will show the data. I've got a search page that spits out results that match the term that was input. Within the results, I want to add a span with a yellow background behind just the search term. I'll show my code, then say my problem Code: [Select] <?php $search = (term in $_GET variable that was searched for); // while loop that goes through all results, $result is the text that the searched term was found in $new_result = str_ireplace($search, "<span style='background:yellow'>$search</span>", $result); echo $new_result; // end while loop ?> my problem is that if somebody searches for the word "bob", then if the term "Bob" was found, when it outputs the $new_result, it shows as "bob" with the yellow background. Searching for "Bob" would give the correct results("Bob" with a yellow background), but basically when the output is given, the case of each letter is displayed as it was typed in the search field. i want to sort the available words by the "searched word"...is there any way ? Code: [Select] <?php $query = "SELECT * FROM ce_cour_chap WHERE nom LIKE'%$find%' ORDER BY nom"; $result = mysql_query($query); while($search = mysql_fetch_array( $result )) { echo $search['nom']." - ".$search["chid"]."<br/>"; } ?> This topic has been moved to HTML Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=316188.0 I have a little blog which allows users reply to posts. Replies go into a 'replies' table, awaiting moderation. The table has a moderation_level column. Values in this column are 1, 2 or 3, denoting 'Queued', 'Accepted', 'Rejected', respectively. moderation_queue.php will display recent replies and allow me to alter the moderation_level value by clicking a radio button. Each reply on this page will have three radio buttons - 'Queued', 'Accepted' and 'Rejected' - one of which should be selected according to the current value of the moderation_level column in the db. (By default, all replies are initially assigned a value of '1'.) However I can't figure out how to have the appropriate radio button for each reply selected, or not, according to this value. Any help greated appreciated. Thanks in advance. Here's my code on moderation_queue.php: Code: [Select] function get_replies_to_moderate() { global $dbc; $q = "SELECT id, f_blogpost_id, body, f_responder, DATE_FORMAT(created, '%Y') AS year, DATE_FORMAT(created, '%b') AS month, DATE_FORMAT(created, '%d') AS day, DATE_FORMAT(created, '%H:%i') AS time, moderation_level FROM blog_replies WHERE moderation_level = 1 ORDER BY id DESC"; $r = mysqli_query($dbc, $q); if (mysqli_num_rows($r) > 0) { while ($row = mysqli_fetch_array($r, MYSQLI_ASSOC)) { ?> <tr> <td><?php echo $row['id']; ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['f_blogpost_id']; ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['body']; ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['f_responder']; ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['time'] . It has a title and a body which is fine. I also have a search box that allows the user to search for a memeber and click their name when it appears. This moves a div with a data-id into another div. The purpose of this is to tag them in the article. I am able to post all of the simple stuff but how would i post these value. I am assuming that i would need to create an array of said values but i am struggling to get them showing in post at all. Here is the code i have so far <?php function searchForPeople($searchVal, $exclude = '0'){ $sv1 = $searchVal; $sv2 = $searchVal; include 'includes/dbconn.php'; $out =""; $stmt = $conn -> prepare(" SELECT fname, lname, id FROM person WHERE id NOT IN (".implode(',', array_map('intval', $exclude)).") AND (fname LIKE CONCAT('%',?,'%') OR lname LIKE CONCAT('%',?,'%')) "); $stmt -> bind_param('ss', $sv1, $sv2); $stmt -> execute(); $stmt -> bind_result($fn, $ln, $pid); while($stmt -> fetch()){ $out .= "<div class='btn btn-primary m-1 tagInArticle' name='taggedPerson[]' data-id='$pid'>$fn $ln</div>"; } return $out; } ?> ...... <div id="searchResultsHere"> <!-- ajax content here --> </div> <hr> <div id="taggedInArticleContainer"> <!-- ajax content here --> </div> ....... <div class="col-lg-2"> <button type="submit" name="PublishNewNews" class="btn btn-primary w-100 mb-3">Publish</button> <button class="btn btn-primary w-100">Save</button> <hr> <div class="btn btn-warning w-100 mb-3">Private</div> <input type="hidden" name="howVisible" value="Private"> <hr> <p class="text-justify">Private news articles will only be avilable to logged in users</p> </div> ....... <script> $('#searchResultsHere').on('click', '.tagInArticle', function tagInArticle(){ var tagButton = $(this); tagButton.appendTo('#taggedInArticleContainer') }); $('#searchForPeopleBox').keyup(function(){ var searchVal = $(this).val() var tagged = '0' var tagged = $('#taggedInArticleContainer').find('.tagInArticle').map(function(){ return $(this).data('id'); }).get(); $.ajax({ type: 'post', data: {"ajax" : 'one', "val" : searchVal, "exclude" : tagged}, success: function(resp){ $('#searchResultsHere').html(resp) } }) }); </script> I hope this is enough to go on. I am sure it is simple but i just cant get it. Thanks all in advance. here is the code Code: [Select] <label for="rank">Font</label> <select class="element select medium" id="fonts" onchange="<?php echo 'selected'; ?>" name="fonts"> <option value="Arial" selected="selected">Arial</option> <option value="times" selected="selected">Times New Roman</option> </select> It is supposed to echo the value selected but it does nothing any ideas regarding what i should do? Also what i really want to do is create a cookie which will contain the selected value and then use this value of the cookie later. But I cant even manage to echo the values so thought it would be better to first learn how to echo and then try to create a cookie out of it I have a problem that is particular to the FF and Safari browsers. I do not see the problem in IE. Again, I am very new to php programming - no formal training - just a hacker. I have a web page that presents a form with a results table and a SUBMIT button. Each time the button is selected I want to present one of two different tables of results. Everything works fine the first time I hit the SUBMIT button. The page updates and shows the second table. But on the next SUBMIT the script that swaps things around is executed twice in FF and Safari vs. one time like in EI. This results in the same result table being displayed over and over vs. the two switching back and forth. Any idea what could be going wrong in these two browsers? Here's my swap script: Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); // This script reverses the coin flip to see what would happen the other way if ($_SESSION['Coin_Flip'] == "heads") { //switch to tails $_SESSION['Coin_Flip'] = "tails"; include ('tails_algo.php'); } elseif ($_SESSION['Coin_Flip'] == "tails") { $_SESSION['Coin_Flip'] = "heads"; include ('heads_algo.php'); } include ('kind-comp_result.php'); ?> Sorry if this should be in the HTML forum but as it is relating to something I am trying to do with php I thought this was the right place! I am creating a search page and one of the columns has only two potential values, 'H' for Home Games and 'A' for Away Games. Using radio buttons I can get the search page to filter correctly but there will also be times, once there are a few more search options on there, when a search would want to show All Games. The current form I have is Code: [Select] <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="fixrestestsearch.php"> <p> <label for="OPP">OPP</label> <input type="text" name="OPP" id="OPP" /> <br /> <label> <input type="radio" name="HA" value="H" id="HA_0" /> Home</label> <br /> <label> <input type="radio" name="HA" value="A" id="HA_1" /> Away</label> <br /> <label> <input type="radio" name="HA" value="" id="HA_2" /> All</label> <br /> <br /> SUB <input type="submit" name="SUB" id="SUB" value="Submit" /> </p> </form> and the query in the results page contains Code: [Select] WHERE team_name='$OPP' AND h_a='$HA' If either the 'Home' or 'Away' buttons are checked everything works fine. If I check the 'All' button nothing is returned as it is looking for blank cells. I have also tried using 'value="*"' but that did not work. Is there anything that I can put as the value of a radio button that would select all records or would it have to be something amended in the query on the results page? Thanks in advance Steve Hey guys... since im new enough to php, i was wondering if someone could talk me through this one. i have three radio buttons.. allowing the user to search by age, area and skill level.. age and area have a text box and skill level has a drop down box. If the user was to select one of the radio buttons and enter/select a value.. how would the if statement work to search the db? I know how to open a connection, but not exactly sure how to structure this one. Hello, I had 3 radio buttons with the same name, well, I had created 3 text box that are next to those 3 radio buttons. When I click save to the form, I need to know which radio button had been pressed, so that I can detect & retrieve its value. Any help? Thanks I am trying to have the text alongside the radio button trigger the radio button (cannot use < a href ) e.g. () Trigger with this text The closest I have found is <label for="r1"><input type="radio" name="group1" id="r1" value="1" /> button one</label> But it does not seem to work? Any help greatly appreciated What am I doing wrong with this selected radio button? <form action="Process/privacy.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" id="privacy"> <div id="privacy_vis">Your profile is visible to:</div> <div id="privacy_select"> <label> <input name="RadioGroup1" type="radio" id="RadioGroup1_0" value="1" <?if($visible=="1")echo 'checked="checked"';?> /> Everyone</label> <label> <input name="RadioGroup1" type="radio" id="RadioGroup1_1" value="0"/> Members Only</label> </div> <br /> <div id="privacy_vis">Your Password to view your private pictures is:</div> <div> <input name="pictures_pw" type="text" id="pictures_pw" value="<? echo "$xxx_pw" ?>" size="50" maxlength="20" /> </div> <br /> <div> <input name="submit" type="submit" class="button" id="submit" value="Save Changes" /> </div> </form> </div> I have a function to display some images and allow a user to select a choice via a radio button. The value is then passed to another function. I have 2 problems My selection is not being passed back and I cant assign the value to a query sring in a link to another page. On the form do i need to add checked? Any help appreciated. Code: [Select] function cover() { echo'<h2>Please upload your book cover or choose one from the selection</h2> <p>All book ideas require a cover. I now wish to display the same buttons but have radio button checked that the user chose before. I know this can be done but having one of those mind melt moments where I cannot think of the solution so I have 4 buttons that look like this Code: [Select] <input type="radio" name="clarity" id="clarity" value="Opaque"> Opaque<br> <input type="radio" name="clarity" id="clarity" value="Deep"> Deep<br> <input type="radio" name="clarity" id="clarity" value="Mid"> Mid<br> <input type="radio" name="clarity" id="clarity" value="Pale"> Pale<br></td> I just need to attached a checked field to the correct item This topic has been moved to HTML Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=317717.0 I am trying to make a set of radio buttons that when you make a selection, it displays a sorted database from MYSQL. I have the MYSQL part figured out but I cannot figure out how to properly display it. I have the following code and I made a select screen just to test: index.html <html> <body> <form action="select.php" method="post"> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table1"> Table 1 <br> <br> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table2">Table 2 <br> <br> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table3">Table 3 <br> <br> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table4">Table 4 <br> <br> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table5">Table 5 <br> <br> <input type="Submit" Name = "submit" value="Submit"> <input type="Reset" value="Reset"> </form> </body></html> select.php <?PHP $selected_radio = $_POST["table"]; if ($selected_radio = = 'table1) { echo "Table 1 Here."; } else if ($selected_radio = = 'table2') { echo "Table 2 Here."; } else if ($selected_radio = = 'table3') { echo "Table 3 Here."; } else if ($selected_radio = = 'table4') { echo "Table 4 Here."; } else if ($selected_radio = = 'table5') { echo "Table 5 Here."; } ?> These are two separate files. When I go to run the code, no matter what I pick, the next page is always blank. Again, the select.php is just suppose to be a check, the real code will display the table instead of echoing a message. Hi, I have 2 radio button's within a table and need to pass this array. All other rows within my table can be sent as array's and captured using $_POST['field_name'][$ROW 1 value etc]. However for radio buttons this doesn't work. As an example, a standard textbox I can send an array using the following: echo "<td width='33%'><input type='Textbox' width='100%' id='test' name='test[]' value='" .$row['test']. "'></td>"; I can then capture it using: $test = $_POST['test'][$iLine]; This works, no problem, however for radio buttons, I can't use a static array name, as presumably it dumps all rows into the array, if I do this, only the last row has a checked button, hence I need to use the following (where $checked includes the logic to decide whether the button should be checked or not, this works correctly): echo "<input type='radio' name='".$row['venue_id']."[]' value='1'".$checked."/>P1" echo "<input type='radio' name='".$row['venue_id']."[]' value='0'".$checked2." />P2"; I tried using the following: var_dump($_POST[$row]['game_id'][$iLine]); But this just returns a null value. Any ideas? This topic has been moved to JavaScript Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=346803.0 |
