Thanks Hi, i have a syntax error on my query string but can't figure out what's wrong : $qry = "UPDATE members SET firstname = '".$fname"', lastname = '".$lname"', passwd = '".md5($password)."' WHERE member_id = '".$_SESSION['SESS_MEMBER_ID']"'"; Any help would be appreciated. Eddy. Hello, I have this script that I have been running a long time that is included in my site with a php include. It reads data from a cached file in an array. I noticed last night something has happened and it won't load in my site anymore and causes my site not to load. I determined this through various troubleshooting. Through the various troubleshooting I was able to get an error "Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home4/mesquiu0/public_html/nws_alerts_scroller.php on line 44". This is strange because nothing has changed on my server or with this script. Also if I run it by itself it runs fine. http://www.mesquitew...ts_scroller.php but, when I include it in my site it won't load and I get the error. I am not sure what is causing this. I have done some research and it appears to be cause by a key as though it were an array of arrays. I just don't see it though.
Here is the portion of the code it is referring to.
// IF there are alerts if(!empty($atomAlerts)) { // IF there are alerts usort($atomAlerts, 'a_sort'); // sort locations foreach($atomAlerts as $aak => $aav) { // FOR EACH alert, get the data from the cache file $caav = count($aav); // count alerts for($i=0;$i<$caav;$i++) { // FOR EACH alert // assemble alert data $title[$i][0] = '<b>'.strtoupper($aav[$i][0]).'</b>'; @$adarray[$aav[$i][10].' '.$title[$i][0]] .= ' - <a href="'.$alertURL.'?a=' .$aav[$i][14].'#WA'.$aav[$i][13].'" title=" Details for '.$aav[$i][12] .' '.$aav[$i][0].'">' .$aav[$i][12] ."</a>"; } } }Here is a sample of the cached file the script reads from. $atomAlerts = array ( 'TXZ104' => array ( 0 => array ( 0 => 'Dense Fog Advisory', 1 => 'Expected', 2 => 'Minor', 3 => 'Likely', 4 => 1418136720, 5 => 1418148000, 6 => 'Anderson; Bell; Bosque; Collin; Comanche; Cooke; Coryell; Dallas; Delta; Denton; Eastland; Ellis; Erath; Falls; Fannin; Freestone; Grayson; Hamilton; Henderson; Hill; Hood; Hopkins; Hunt; Jack; Johnson; Kaufman; Lamar; Lampasas; Leon; Limestone; McLennan; Milam; Mills; Montague; Navarro; Palo Pinto; Parker; Rains; Robertson; Rockwall; Somervell; Stephens; Tarrant; Van Zandt; Wise; Young', 7 => 'DENSE FOG IS OCCURRING OVER THE REGION WHICH WILL CREATE VERY HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. I don't see anything right off the bat. Just strange it loads fine alone and the problem only happens and happened out of the blue when I include it in my site. I have tried to isolate it to see what might be conflicting with it but have been unsuccessful. I also would add it only errors and doesn't load when included in my site when there is an alert. Right now there is no alerts at the moment. There was alerts at the time this happened. -Thanks Edited by Texan78, 09 December 2014 - 02:19 PM. Hi, I'm creating a PDF document using the FPDF library. All is fine, using a sample image that came with the library. However, I need to get the data for the PDF from a database. The data's fine - the query is performed and the data prints out as I need. However, there's one line which takes a value which is a filepath. When I put that into the following line, I get an error from FPDF: Code: $this->Image($row['imgpath'],10,10,190); Error produced: FPDF error: Image file has no extension and no type was specified: However, if I print out the value of $row['imgpath'] and manually insert it into the code as follows, it works fine: Code: $this->Image('../assets/images/products/5777A.jpg',10,10,190); I've come across this problem once before but can't for the life of me remember what the solution was. It was something to do with how I was reading the value into the code, I think. Can anyone jog my memory, please?? Hi everyone, I get this error: Catchable fatal error: Object of class Category could not be converted to string The code: public static function list_all_cat_names() { $result_array = self::find_by_sql("SELECT name FROM ".self::$table_name); return !empty($result_array) ? array_shift($result_array) : false; } $categories = Category::find_all(); foreach ($categories as $cats): echo $cats; endforeach; Where could be the problem? I have the following script: <?php $tijd[] = '2012-05-23T02:00:00'; $date = new DateTime($tijd[0]); echo $date; ?> However it is not working and resulting in: Quote Catchable fatal error: Object of class DateTime could not be converted to string in time3.php on line 7 I think to solve this issue, I have to convert $tijd[0] into a string. Right? If this is correct, how do I do that? I'm getting this error for a blog script that is on my site :- PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Unsupported operand types: string - int
The line in questions is this :- $prev = $page - 1; If I comment out this block of code the blog appears (with other errors, but I'll move on to those if I can fix this first!).
/* Setup page vars for display. */
Any idea's on what's needed to fix this script? I've contacted the original author but they haven't got back to me, I guess PHP8 maybe a little too new for them. Thanks for any help....
I am pretty new to PHP and am trying to create a simple (so I assumed) page to takes data from one html page(works fine) and updates a MYSQL Database. I am getting no error message, but the connect string down to the end of the body section is showing up as plain text in my browser window. I do not know how to correct this. I have tried using two different types of connect strings and have verified my names from the HTML page are the same as listed within the php page. Suggestions on what I need to look for to correct would be great. I have looked online, but so far all I am getting is how to connect, or how to create a comment, so I thought I would try here. Thank you for any assistance I may get!! - Amy - Code: [Select] <body><font color="006600"> <div style="background-color:#f9f9dd;"> <fieldset> <h1>Asset Entry Results</h1> <?php // create short variable names $tag=$_POST['tag']; $serial=$_POST['serial']; $category=$_POST['category']; $status=$_POST['status']; $branch=$_POST['branch']; $comments=$_POST['comments']; if (!$tag || !$serial || !$category || !$status || !$branch) { echo "You have not entered all the required details.<br />" ."Please go back and try again."; exit; } if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $tag = addslashes($tag); $serial = addslashes($serial); $category = addslashes($category); $status = addslashes($status); $branch = addslashes($branch); $comments = addslashes($comments); } //@ $db = new mysqli('localhost', 'id', 'pw', 'inventory'); $db = DBI->connect("dbi:mysql:inventory:localhost","id","pw") or die("couldnt connect to database"); $query = "insert into assets values ('".$serial."', '".$tag."', '".$branch."', '".$status."', '".$category."', '".$comments."')"; $result = $db->query($query); if ($result) { echo $db->affected_rows." asset inserted into Inventory."; } else { echo "An error has occurred. The item was not added."; } $db->close(); ?> </fieldset> </div> </body> Hi, I am new to the forums. I am having an issue with a snippet of code that generates random strings. I have already searched the forums, but the fix that I found is already in my code. I am still receiving the error though and was wondering if there was something else going on that I didn't see. Here is my code: Code: [Select] $Data = 'Ahmet'.md5(mt_rand(0, 123456789)); $length = 30; $chars = 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789'; $string = ''; $string2 = ''; for ($a = 0; $a < $length; $a++) { $pos = mt_rand(0, strlen($chars)-1); $string .= $chars{$pos}; $pos2 = mt_rand(0, (strlen($Data))-1); $string2 .= $chars{$pos2}; } I appreciate any help on this, as it is cluttering my system log table. Thanks. Hi, I am trying to make some adjustments to uploadify.php which comes with the latest version of uploadify (3.0 beta), so that it works with a session variable that stores the login username and adds it to the path for uploads. Here is uploadify.php as it currently looks: Code: [Select] <?php session_name("MyLogin"); session_start(); $targetFolder = '/songs/' . $_SESSION['name']; // Relative to the root if (!empty($_FILES)) { $tempFile = $_FILES['Filedata']['tmp_name']; $targetPath = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . $targetFolder; $targetFile = rtrim($targetPath,'/') .'/'. $_FILES['Filedata']['name']; // Validate the file type $fileTypes = array('m4a','mp3','flac','ogg'); // File extensions $fileParts = pathinfo($_FILES['Filedata']['name']); if (in_array($fileParts['extension'],$fileTypes)) { move_uploaded_file($tempFile,$targetFile); echo '1'; } else { echo 'Invalid file type.'; } } echo $targetFolder; ?> I added Code: [Select] echo $targetFolder; at the bottom so that I could make sure that the string returned was correct, and it is, i.e. '/songs/nick'. For some reason though, uploads are not going to the correct folder, i.e. the username folder, but instead are going to the parent folder 'songs'. The folder for username exists, with correct permissions, and when I manually enter Code: [Select] $targetFolder = '/songs/nick';all works fine. Which strikes me as rather strange. I have limited experience of using php, but wonder how if the correct string is returned by the session variable, the upload works differently than with the manually entered string. Any help would be much appreciated. It's the last issue with a website that was due to go live 2 days ago! Thanks, Nick |
