PHP - How To Get All Elements Of A Dropdown List Into A Variable Of Type Array???
I have a dropdown list which have some elements.
I want to get all the elements of the dropdown list into a variable of type array. Any Idea??? Similar TutorialsCan anyone let me know what I am doing wrong. I am sure it will (after the fact) be obvious, but I don't see it right now. Wish to remove all array elements which do not implement ValidatorCallbackInterface. Thanks <?php interface ValidatorCallbackInterface{} class ValidatorCallback implements ValidatorCallbackInterface{} function array_filter_recursive($input) { foreach ($input as &$value) { if (is_array($value)) { $value = array_filter_recursive($value); } } return array_filter($input, function($v) { return $v instanceOf ValidatorCallbackInterface; }); } function recursive_unset(&$array) { foreach ($array as $key => $value) { if (is_array($value)) { recursive_unset($value); if(empty($value)) { unset($array[$key]); } } elseif(!$value instanceOf ValidatorCallbackInterface) { unset($array[$key]); } } } $validatorCallback = new ValidatorCallback(); $rules=[ 'callbackId'=>"integer", 'info'=>[ 'arrayofobjects'=>[$validatorCallback], 'foo1'=>'bar1' ], 'foo2'=>'bar2', 'bla'=>[ 'a'=>'aa', 'b'=>'bb', ], 'singleobject'=>$validatorCallback ]; echo('original rules'.PHP_EOL); var_dump($rules); $desiredrules=[ 'info'=>[ 'arrayofobjects'=>[$validatorCallback] ], 'singleobject'=>$validatorCallback ]; echo('desired rules'.PHP_EOL); var_dump($desiredrules); echo('array_filter_recursive'.PHP_EOL); var_dump(array_filter_recursive($rules)); echo('recursive_unset'.PHP_EOL); recursive_unset($rules); var_dump($rules);

Alright, so I have an xml file differences.xml that is being parsed in XML. This is what the xml looks like: <item code="lM" name="dog"> <cost>5000</cost> <Start>12/15/2010</Start> <End>01/13/2011</End> </item> <item code="lF" name="cat"> <cost>5000</cost> <Start>04/15/2010</Start> <End>04/23/2011</End> </item>[/ I want to have the item names (dog, cat) show in a dropdown menu so that I can select these items for editing before storing in my mysql database. This is the php code I have so far: <?PHP $xml = simplexml_load_file("differences.xml"); $object = $xml->xpath("//item"); echo '<SELECT name=object>'; foreach ($object['name'] as $key => $value) { echo '<OPTION value='.$value.'> '.$value; } echo '</select>'; ?> I do have a dropdown list but there are no values inside it (it is empty). Can anyone help me figure out why? I do have this code that does work which lists the items in plaintext (not in a dropdown) so hopefull this will help us out: <?PHP $xml = simplexml_load_file("differences.xml"); $object = $xml->xpath("//item"); $count = count($object); $i = 0; while($i < $count) { echo '<h1>'.$object[$i]['name'].'</h1>'; $i++; } ?> Code: [Select] <? $i=1; $analysts[$i] = array(0=>'alpha'); $regions[$i] = array(0=>'beta'); $countries[$i] = array(0=>'gamma'); $provinces[$i] = array(0=>'delta'); $events[$i] = array(0=>'epsilon'); $selectable_document_elements = array ( 0=> analysts, 1=> regions, 2=> countries, 3=> provinces, 4=> events ); foreach($selectable_document_elements as $value) { echo $value; print_r($$value[$i]); echo "</br>"; } ?> I can't seem to call $$value[$i], however when I leave off the [$i] part Code: [Select] print_r($$value); I get the individual elements... Code: [Select] analystsArray ( [1] => Array ( [0] => alpha ) ) regionsArray ( [1] => Array ( [0] => beta ) ) countriesArray ( [1] => Array ( [0] => gamma ) ) provincesArray ( [1] => Array ( [0] => delta ) ) eventsArray ( [1] => Array ( [0] => epsilon) ) However, I would like to get the 1 part of the array, in this example. Is there a magic trick to calling variable arrays' individual elements? I have a simple form that edits student information. I have several fields that I have a drop down list pulled as an array from a separate table. I would like the information that is already entered on the student to be the default but still have the drop down list available if the item was entered in error. For example: Drop down list of all the states of America, OH was entered for the student, when the edit form comes up for State in Address I would like OH to be the default but still have the list to choose if OH was entered in error. I have tried selected = $selected but then the entire drop down changed to OH. I am very, very much a beginner in this <?php // list of possible modules comes from database $state_array=get_states(); //display as a drop down list for end user to choose if (!is_array($state_array)) { echo "<p>No States are currently available<p>"; return; } foreach ($state_array as $row) { echo "<option value=\"".($row['stateid'])."\""; // if existing state, put in current catgory echo "<strong> ".($row['stateid'])."</strong><br />"; echo "<option select=\"selected\">OH"; } ?> Long time lurker, first time poster here. I am having a problem with a multiple file uploader form I am trying to build. I am using the CodeIgniter framework, but I believe my problem is with the form itself. Here is the form: Code: [Select] <form action="http://localhost/show/submit" id="sendfiles" method="post" name="sendfiles" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="hidden" name="doup" value="1" /> <input type="file" name="userfile1" value="" id="userfile1" size="20" /> <br /> <input type="file" name="userfile2" value="" id="userfile2" size="20" /> <br /> <input type="file" name="userfile3" value="" id="userfile3" size="20" /> <br /> <input type="submit" name="submit_btn" value="Upload" /> </form> The form is being passed to this function: if(empty($_POST['doup'])){ foreach($_REQUEST as $k => $v) print ">>> $k : $v <br />"; $data['form_open'] = form_open_multipart(uri_string(), array( 'id' => 'sendfiles', 'method' => 'post', 'name' => 'sendfiles' )); $data['form_flag'] = form_hidden('doup', '1'); $data['file1'] = form_input(array( 'id' => 'userfile1', 'name' => 'userfile1', 'size' => '20', 'type' => 'file', )); $data['file2'] = form_input(array( 'id' => 'userfile2', 'name' => 'userfile2', 'size' => '20', 'type' => 'file', )); $data['file3'] = form_input(array( 'id' => 'userfile3', 'name' => 'userfile3', 'size' => '20', 'type' => 'file', )); $data['form_submit'] = form_submit('submit_btn', 'Upload'); $data['form_close'] = form_close(); $this->load->view('show/submit', $data); } else { $config['allowed_types'] = 'mp3'; $config['max_size'] = '10240'; $config['upload_path'] = $this->config->item('file_upload_path'); $uploaded_files = array(); for($nona=1; $nona<4; $nona++){ if (strlen($_FILES['userfile'.$nona]['tmp_name']) <=0){ echo "tempname$nona failed"; continue; } //print "------ USERFILE $nona ------ <br />"; //print sizeof($_FILES['userfile'.$nona])."<br />"; //foreach ($_FILES['userfile'.$nona] as $k => $v){ // print "$k : $v <br />"; //} $this->upload->initialize($config); $upload = $this->upload->do_upload('userfile'.$nona); if (!$upload){ $form_errors = array('form_errors' => $this->upload->display_errors()); $this->load->view('show/submit', $form_errors); break; } else { $data = array('upload_data' => $this->upload->data()); $data = $data['upload_data']; $fp = $data['full_path']; $filename = strtolower(random_string('numeric', 16) . $data['file_ext']); $rel_path = 'show/submissons/uploaded/'; $path = $this->config->item('media_root_path') . $rel_path; exec('mkdir -p ' . $path , $a1, $r1); exec('mv ' . $fp . I can choose any of the 3 inputs and it works great. But as soon as I try to choose 2 or more files, the form fails to post. When I press submit, the page simply reloads and none of the form variables get posted. I have checked settings in php.ini and tried building and rebuilding this form. I'm hoping someone here can provide some insight into what I'm doing wrong? Hi i have this drop down list for date which contain 3 selects DAY MONTH YEAR hwo can i make so that when update form select keeps the same value has before help please <?php $months = array('','January','February','March','April','May','June','July','August','September','October','November','December'); echo '<select name="month_of_birth">'; for ($i=1;$i<13;++$i) { echo '<option value="' . sprintf("%02d",$i) . All works perfectly. The dropdownlist consists of 3 parts <optgroups> first is current selection (what is the usesr current selection)works fine, The second <optgroup> is existing words, what words we(the site) have given as options, and the third <optgroup> is the words that others have used. This is where im having a small problem. Because its a text field when i call the data from the database, it calls the entire text box as a single option in my select list.. I want to break the words in the text field (at the comma) and have them listed each one as an option in the select list. Example what i need: Words in text box:(my input allows the "comma") word1, word2, word3, word4, word5, word6, How i want them called/displayed: <option value=\"word1\">word1</option> <option value=\"word2\">word2</option> <option value=\"word3\">word3</option> <option value=\"word4\">word4</option> <option value=\"word5\">word5</option> <option value=\"word6\">word6</option> here's my code: $query = "SELECT allwords FROM #__functions_experience WHERE profile_id = '".(int)$profileId."' LIMIT 1"; $original_functionsexperience =doSelectSql($query,1); $query = "SELECT allwords FROM #__functions_experience WHERE profile_id = '".(int)$profileId."' LIMIT 1"; $functionsexperiencelist=doSelectSql($query); $funcexpList ="<select multiple=\"multiple\" onchange=\"setFunctionsexperience(this.options)\">"; foreach ($functionsexperiencelist as $functionsexperienceal) { $selected=""; if ($functionsexperienceals->allwords == $original_functionsexperience) $selected=' selected="selected"'; $allwords=$functionsexperienceal->allwords; $funcexpList .= "<optgroup label=\"Current selection\"> <option value=\"".$allwords."\" ".$selected." >".$allwords."</option> </optgroup> <optgroup label=\"Existing Words\"> <option value=\"existing1,\">existing1</option> <option value=\"existing2,\">existing2</option> <option value=\"existing3,\">existing3</option> <option value=\"existing4,\">existing4</option> <option value=\"existing5,\">existing5</option> <option value=\"existing6,\">existing6</option> </optgroup> <optgroup label=\"Others added\"> //heres problem <option value=\"".$allwordsgeneral."\">".$allwordsgeneral."</option> </optgroup>"; } $funcexpList.="</select>"; $output['FUNCEXPLIST']=$funcexpList; The result im getting for optgroup others added: word1, word2, word3, word4, word5, how can i get it like this: <option value=\"word1\">word1</option> <option value=\"word2\">word2</option> <option value=\"word3\">word3</option> <option value=\"word4\">word4</option> <option value=\"word5\">word5</option> <option value=\"word6\">word6</option> Hi, I use the following code to create a select menu from an array of options stored in LISTS.php: include 'LISTS.php'; print('<select id="from" name="from">'); foreach ($langList as $lang) {printf('<option %s>%s</option>', ($from1 == $lang ? 'selected="selected"' : ''), $lang); } echo '</select>'; where LISTS.php includes the following: $langList = array(' ','English', 'French', 'German', 'Dutch', 'Spanish'); This works great, but now I want to do something similar with a checkbox list, where each checkbox has an associated 'onchange' javascript function and I'm getting pretty stuck. My checkbox list is of the following form: Code: [Select] <html> <ul style="height: 95px; overflow: auto; width: 200px; border: 1px solid #480091; list-style-type: none; margin: 0; padding: 0;"> <li id="li1b"><label for="chk1b"><input name="chk1b" id="chk1b" type="checkbox" onchange="function1('chk1b','li1b')">Option1</label></li> <li id="li2b"><label for="chk2b"><input name="chk2b" id="chk2b" type="checkbox" onchange="function1('chk2b','li2b')">Option2</label></li> //etc. </ul> </html> What I want to do is have 'Option1', 'Option2', etc. stored in an array in LISTS.php and have a PHP script that populates the checkbox list accordingly, in a similar manner to my select menu above. I can't work out how to get the ID of the next <li> and the next <input> in the list to go up by one each time, e.g. 'li1b' then 'li2b', 'li3b', etc. Could someone pls help me out? Thanks! Hi, I am trying to call the data from Mysql but I am getting an empty drop down list, this is the code: mysql: Code: [Select] create table years ( yearID integer auto_increment, year varchar(30), primary key (yearID) ); insert into years (yearID, year) values ('1', '2007-2008'); insert into years (yearID, year) values ('2', '2008-2009'); insert into years (yearID, year) values ('3', '2009-2010'); insert into years (yearID, year) values ('4', '2010-2011'); insert into years (yearID, year) values ('5', '2011-2012'); insert into years (yearID, year) values ('6', '2012-2013'); PHP: Code: [Select] <?php require_once('../Connections/connection.php'); ?> <?php $result = @mysql_query( "select yearID, year, from sss.years"); print "<p>Select a year:\n"; print "<select name=\"yearID\">\n"; while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ $yearID = $row[ 'yearID' ]; $year = $row[ 'year' ]; print "<option value=$yearID>$year\n"; } print "</select>\n"; print "</p>\n"; ?> Thank you! Is there a way to find out what the array type is? Example: Code: [Select] $array1 = array('red', 'pizza', '14'); $array2 = array('color' => 'red', 'food' => 'pizza', 'age' => '14'); if(is_recursive($array1)){ return TRUE; } else if(is_multidimensional($array2){ return TRUE; } else { return FALSE; } If I can get this fixed, I will have completed all but the admin login for this project - my first php/mysql project. Here is what I need. I have a list_records.php that list all the records in the table 'links' and the category each entry is in from the table 'categories'. Here are my table structures. If you look, you will see in the select portion that I I have Code: [Select] <$ echo $catid; ?> which echos the proper category ID, but if I use Code: [Select] <? echo $categories; ?> it echos Writing, which is the last category in the list. Yet, the $options echo the catid and it corresponding category. How can I get the default option to echo BOTH the catid and category name while also listing all the other categories so that the records can be moved to a new category is needed? Here is my code at the moment, but what it's doing is displaying the names all in one value, where it should be in separate select values. *Note that i have only done it to the first one. See attachment. 'AntonMatt' are next to each other, they should be separate select values. It reads from a directory, and lists the file name in the dropdown box. Here's the tricky part... the filename is listed differently in the dropdown than in the directory by using explode(). I want to sort it though since it's still being sorted by the directory listings... For example: Filename starts out as: 123_abc_567.pdf then gets listed as abc_123_567.pdf in the dropdown, but it's still getting sorted as if it were 123_abc_567.pdf How can I do that? I want to get all the values of dropdown list on another page wether selected or not. I have the following code currently: Code: [Select] <?php foreach ((array)$node->field_buy_at as $item) { ?> <?php print $item['view'] ?> <?php } ?> I would like to make the list a drop down with a link so that when a user selects, he goes to a new page. I tried the following: Code: [Select] <select name="select"> <?php foreach ((array)$node->field_buy_at as $item) { ?> <?php $url = $node->field_buy_at[0]['url']; $store = $item['view']; ?> <? echo "<option value='$url'>$store</option>";?> <?php } ?> </select> I'm pretty sure it's this "$url = $node->field_buy_at[0]['url'];" that I don't have correct. Hi friends how does this types of array operate ? pls help, I am repeatedly facing this code but my brain can't hold, i am familiar with multi dimensional array but what are these ? $data[$row['id']] $options['data']=$row[0]; |
