PHP - How To Prevent Direct Accessing A Particular Page?
Hello,
I want to prevent this page from being directly accessed by all via just putting its address in the address bar: http://www.mysite.com/page1/page2/signup.php I want to allow to be accessed this page only via clicking on a link in a particular page like: http://www.mysite.com/activate/index.php Please help me. Similar TutorialsI am using the debug_backtrace() php function to prevent direct access to admin files.
i simply place the code below at the top of a page eg config.php and direct access via the browser is prevented.
Is it a safe practice or is there a better way of doing it?

I have my template files and some functions in my server which are available for direct reach. like ; my "index.php" file includes "loginpage.php" form which is ok when I enter www.site.com/index.php but also when I enter to www.site.com/loginpage.php it works and shows me just login page. So this is what I dont want. How can I prevent to reach the files directly like this, I want them to work just for other pages of my website, not for directly seeing. By the way can this problem also be solved by hosting settings or mod_rewrite ? User tries to Log-in -> create session variable -> now redirect the page
I can verify user account details and set the session variable at the same time, but how to reload the page so that it finds the session and reload itself and then redirect the page to new page ??

I am a part of an institue which has internal web pages. It also provides me with my web space with php servers. Now I know those internal web pages are available to the server. I want a code that can fetch those web pages and display it in my web space. And whatever forms i fill or links i click it should do those on internal page and again return the new web page. The link in the email takes the user to the activation page which sends out a welcome email and updates the database as activated if the user is not already activated. For some reason, this page is being accessed by an Amazon ip address with multiple browsers in the user_agent. Whatever this is is automatically activating my users and sending them a welcome email without them even accessing the page. The only suspect I can think of is I have a javascript snippit for google ads and also facebook on some of my pages. I don't know if they could somehow be accessing the page or not. It must be following the activation link in the mail() script I have on the registration page. I'm mailing myself the following when the activation page is accessed. Hello all, As the title says: For sake of example, let's say I have a form with a couple text boxes and a submit button. When you hit submit, the data from the text boxes is translated into a database record. Howver, refershing the page will this record again and again -- which I do not want. How can I prevent this? Keeping in mind the business logic of my applicatoin allows the same record to be entered twice -- however, it should only happen if the user intentionally visits the form agian, and enters the same data. It should not happen on a page refresh. I assume this is a common problem...? Any thoughts? Thanks!
