PHP - Question About Variable Scope And Unset In A Foreach Loop

I have a question. 

I have the following code to grab all of my $_POST vars and run through my filter function

Before using the foreach loop I was just doing the basic

$var1 = $_POST['var1'];
$var2 = $_POST['var2'];

I'm going to have about 40 - 50 $_POST vars so my question is how do i return it as just a $var name instead of having to do this

 echo "<br><br><br>example1" . $mydata['var1'];
 echo "<br><br><br>example2" . $mydata['var2'];

I guess its hard for me to explain..

First: i'm pretty new to PHP.
Second, the situation: i've got a array of universities. Each university within the array, which is also an array has values like an ID and Name. I wan't to add a value to that university from a xml feed, a URL. I can match ID's to find the corresponding university in the xml feed.
Third, my question: Why do i lose the ['hURL'] outside of my foreach loop(s) ? It's working inside the foreach loop ...

Ever had the feeling your being a spoon and can't see the wood for the trees? Well, that's how I feel today.

All I am trying to to is implement a variable in a "foreach" loop that increments by one through each iteration of the loop. I know how to do it in a "for" loop but can't for the life of me get it to work here. Here is the code:

Where I have highlighted $needavariablehere is where I want a number to appear i.e. if there is one item available and the foreach loop iterates once I want the number 1 here. If there are two items and the foreach loop iterates twice I want the output to have number 1 in the first line and number 2 the second time around and so on.

How many times the foreach loop iterates is based on the $cart array which contains items in a shopping cart.

Hi - I have a POST variable which contains a bunch of products with their codes and prices etc.  However if the customer wants to delete one of those products  it has to be removed from the POST before being processed. I have read the manual on unset  which appears to work well when you know the key relating to the value, but if you take a look at the array ( below ) you can see that it is a multi- dimensional array where the number of potential entries not knowable in advance. My HTML checkbox for delete has a value of prodid.

The answer is probably obvious but so far this student of PHP hasn't found it - MANY thanks for your advice !

Hi All,

When a user saves the page, I want to have the page refresh to show the new record and then have a message saying "Success!" or something like that.

The only way I know how to do this is to set a session var after the record is created, but I would then need to unset it automatically so it doesn't keep showing.

Any suggestions?

i have a text box, the no of text boxes that are displayed are random depending upon the condition of the loop..
hosting[] takes up many no of values
<input type='text' name='hosting[]' size='2' /> when the form is submitted
i use the following code to access the content of hosting[]

now i get the results in $total_actual_links[].. i want to pass the value of this array into the value of another text box of other form which i get on submission of the 1st form..
i do not knw how shud i do this.. please help

Hi everyone, as the title stated, I would like to know how I could submit a form in one page(cart) and unset a session variable on other page.   Right now my form is setting a variable within the page back to 0, however I would like the form to unset the session variable from other page as well.   The issue with my code is that every time I attempt to clear out all items, my code can empty out the cart. But whenever I close and reopen the cart, the same content will show up again. So I need to unset the session variable.   Please let me know what should I do in order to solve the problem and I greatly appreciate your help.   My code is currently looking like this: cart.php

Now where it says course mark above it says 70. This is incorrect as it should be 65 (The average between the module marks percentage should be 65 in the example above) but for some stange reason I can get the answer 65. I have a variable called $courseMark and that does the calculation. Now if the $courseMark is echo outside the where loop, then it will equal 65 but if it is put in while loop where I want the variable to be displayed, then it adds up to 70. Why does it do this.

I think the problem is that it is outputting the answer of the calculation only for the first session mark. How in the while loop can I do it so it doesn't display it for the first mark only but for all the session marks so that it ends up showing the correct answer 65 and not 72?

Hi, im having a problem using a global object in all my scripts and programs. Its a register singleton so it have all the configuration values, etc...

Now im doing:

1-I create a script for testing, test.php
2-I include in that script 'errores.php', thats my error system library.
3-The error library include once 'registroglobal.php', thats my file for the global register.
4-Because i can use a lot of systems with a complete library or alone, i created a system where i test if the library module is part of a more greater library or not. If not, it instantiates the global register in errors.php (called in the include in test.php).
5-Here is the problem. Includes add and execute code, so, i must have all errors.php functions and the global register created.
6-If i test the global register in the test.php script, it goes well.
7-But if i call a function of my errores.php system, it says that my global register is undefined.

Well, thats all the explanation. Whats going on? How can i solve this?

I am using a MVC framework and in my controller I have defined a class variable for configurations.  In my action I have a call to the configuration class to set the class variable to the current configurations.

When I echo the configuration in the method it is 10 but when I echo in buildStep1 it is 11.  What is the proper way for configArray to be global and updated when I call getConfigArray for use in functions in the class?

createStep1.php

createCheckPass.php

createStep2.php

home.php unsets some $_SESSION variables if they still exist from previous pages:

createCheckPass.php gets some posted information from createStep1.php, checks everything is ok and if so sets the above session variables

createStep2.php gets the session data set by createCheckPass.php and then gets to work with the user inputting data into the db.

The odd problem
If createCheckPass.php finds any problems with the posted data it redirects the user back to createStep1.php with the sessions set, createStep1.php then displays the errors with the info set in the sessions to the user and everything works ok.

If however the user sends the form from createStep1.php with no problems and the createCheckPass.php passes the user onto createStep2.php, something strange happens...
The sessions set by the createCheckPass.php are only ever unset at the home.php, yet somehow createStep2.php loses the sessions and therefore doesn't run.

What is even stranger is if i comment out the unsetting of the sessions from the home.php, everything works fine and none of the sessions are lost. Really really odd


Summary:
createStep2.php is reading the unset session lines of code from home.php when never asked to.

Has anyone ever come across anything like this before?
