PHP - Get Id From Selected Item In Dropdown List?
i have the following code:

However I am unable to retain what was selected in my country dropdown list after it is selected and submitted if the form had errror while validating. I want the form to retain the value that was selected by the user to stay in the form so that users can make necessary changes and resubmit the form all other values stay in the form except the country dropdown. The dropdown prints, and shows the options. But the selected item shows separate, printed just below the dropdown?
