PHP - Form Values 2

Hi, I would like to know if there's a way to quickly collect and sort form data, then use that data in an if statement. I've tried for a while now and i just can't seem to figure it out.



I would like to do this with radio buttons. Hopefully this will make it clear:

I have a textarea feild in my form where the user can type in several keywords such as

Cars
Trains
Buses

I have a database with the meanings of the words entered and want to be able to get the three definitions from the database on for submission.

In a normal input box where i only type one word i can grab no problem like so

$word = $_POST['word'];
$sql = "SELECT meaning FROM table WHERE word='$word'";

Though i am trying to get multiple values from the same textarea box

So if a user types in 3 words the query would query the database on thoses three words, the problem is i dont know how to get the diffrent words from the form

for example

$first = $_POST['word']; which would be the first word
$sec = $_POST['word']; which would be the second word etc.

Well, folks, thanks to all the help, I've narrowed my problem
down to needing a way to allow a variable value to traverse
into subsequent calls of a function.

I have a simple integer - "companyID", and it's set in "actionfile.php"
which is called by two forms.  The first time it's called by Form A,
it's set.  I'd LIKE to put it into $_SESSION, but apparently $_SESSION
is zeroed out before I can use it in the second call to "actionfile.php"
by Form B.  A new form/function call is a new session?

I've tried setting it to global and static, to no avail.

Anything more elegant than writing the value to SQL for later
retrieval?

i am writing this script for use as an include in joomla and the directphp plugin so in my joomla article i have:

Ok now my issue!
the form in this function is passing only the values for the last item in the loop rather than for the selected radio item when submitted.
so when say for example the radio selected is:
ID TEST TYPE UNIQUE TEST ID AVAILABLE 5    Adolescent Clinical 50021629 1
and the last item in the list is:
ID TEST TYPE UNIQUE TEST ID AVAILABLE 4 Adult Clinical 12341629 1
When the form is submitted even if the 1st item is selected, it returns the value for the second one. I am sorta new to php so any suggestions will be appreciated.

How does everyone take data input from an HTML Form and convert it into an Object in OOP?

I am thinking it would be better if user inputs resided in an object so that I could manipulate the data in OOP terms instead of referencing the Form procedurally.

I have a form with a few textareas and a bunch of input fields. The input fields are dynamically created from querying a country table.

This is fine and outputs all the input fields I need.

The problem comes when I need to get the value of each field input field and pass it into a query.

The 'value' field of the inputs are numbers, such as 68, 70, 124, 108 etc so I can't get them in a for loop etc

What's the easiest way to get all of these input field values?

I have managed to create an update script that allows a user to submit changes to their details but I need help to finish of the code. I'm using sessions to login in members, here is my update.php code.

After while($member = mysql_fetch_array($result)) {   I would like to retrieve the new values entered by them to be displayed back to the previous form which uses $_SESSION to hold their information when they previously login.

My PHP CODE:

Grabs from this data in my HTML FORM:

Now when I pass my input, I will get 2 different values in both array's how do I separate them out? I know how to seperate them out using implode, but I need to seperate BOTH of the array's that are being passed, and I need to use them separately.

Hey everyone. I have a project I'm working on and am having some issues. I'm trying to build a web-based FTP program for a client. I have all the ftp stuff down packed, but I'm having issues with connecting to a local computer. I can get the directories an a local disk viewing and changing just fine, my problem is I'm wondering how I might pass each value of the array generated by the scandir() function into a form element value such as a checkbox. The furthest I've been able to get with this is displaying the last object in the array. Here is some code:

  <tr>

All I get is the last item in the array. any help is appreciated.
