PHP - Setting 'global' Variable
Similar Tutorialshello, ok if i set a Global on index.php (wwwroot/admin/index.php) it works Code: [Select] $page1='hello from page1 on index'; global $page1; echo $page1; i can echo $page1 on other pages like (wwwroot/admin/pages/home.php) and it will echo out "hello from page1 on index". GREAT but if i write a Global on (wwwroot/admin/pages/home.php) it does not work. i also can not echo it out on any other page Code: [Select] $page2='hello from page2 on home'; global $page2; echo $page2; why is this ??? Sorry, this will be a simple question. Its a register singleton so it have all the configuration values, etc... Now im doing: 1-I create a script for testing, test.php 2-I include in that script 'errores.php', thats my error system library. 3-The error library include once 'registroglobal.php', thats my file for the global register. 4-Because i can use a lot of systems with a complete library or alone, i created a system where i test if the library module is part of a more greater library or not. If not, it instantiates the global register in errors.php (called in the include in test.php). 5-Here is the problem. Includes add and execute code, so, i must have all errors.php functions and the global register created. 6-If i test the global register in the test.php script, it goes well. 7-But if i call a function of my errores.php system, it says that my global register is undefined. Well, thats all the explanation. Whats going on? How can i solve this? Tried assigning global $set; just above the $set=$key; ----but it did not work. I declared a variable in a page. When i want to access that variable in other page i am bound to state as global such as global $var; now i can not access this variable in other pages even if declared global. Please some one tell me how to declare a variable once and can use in any page i want.

The first alert displays '1', however, the second displays 'undefined'. Why is this?Thanks I have a form where users enter name, username, password etc. The values are posted to a MySQL table where I also have a field called 'ID' that auto increments. Hi I'm having a problem getting a query to work. I have a simple form with user input for start and end date with format: 2009-03-19 (todays date): $Startdate = $_POST['date']; This works well when something is entered into the form, and afterwards using my query: SELECT COUNT(*) as total FROM mydb WHERE Date BETWEEN '$Startdate' AND '$EndDate' ........ Problem is if user submits the form without entering anything in the date input fields, which makes sense. I want to check if inputs has been made, and if not set af default date, but can't make it work:

But I have never able to know how to define a variable that I can use in different functions in a same file. There is no class structure just a PHP file with some functions. Is it possible to use some type of variable that can be share by all functions and that variable should not be a session variable .
