PHP - Which Is Better Reloading The Whole Page Or Reloading Division With Ajax?

I'm trying to show the same data, but updated right away. For example. I want to update my coords on a map and refresh a div to show the new data, but as the code now, it keeps the same data until I reload the page. Here is the code I have now.

The update code is before the reload script for the two div's. The data DOES change in the database, but the two div's won't display the new data until it is refreshed again.

Do I need to reactivate fetch to get the new data?

I am delete records using $_POST on the current page using isset() function. The records are deleting and the isset function is working but the corresponding record still appears in the list of records until the page is reloaded again.

I have a session to check when the users login and fetch the details from their account but when they edit their avatar I want it to update the value right away. For it to change the value for the user they need to log out and back in, destroying the original session and recreating a new one on that account. Is there a way to have it always getting the data I need from the database while they're logged in? Because I don't want it to only get the orignial data in case they change a setting so they don't have to log out and then back in to change the setting. I hope you understand

So, I just don't know where to post this question. I've written a quiz program where 50 English vocab words are pulled from a dB and displayed on one page with the order scrambled. My students then type the Spanish translation for each. When they submit the form the next page grades their work. They have to get a 90 or better for the grade to be automatically recorded, so I want them to click the back button and go back and make corrections. The problem is when they use a Chrome browser and click the back button the program re-sorts the order of questions. It leaves the order of their answers the same. So what they answered for number 1 is still in the field for number 1, but the questions (the English vocab word) is different. Chrome does this consistently so I thought this was a Chrome issue only. Then one of my students said the same thing happened to her when using Safari.

So here is my question, how can I stop Chrome (or any other browser) from re-running my server-side PHP scripts (re-sorting the vocab array) when clicking the back button?

Currently, I'm trying to write a contact form, and perhaps I'm overcomplicating it, but I have a public variable called $EquationAnswer that stores the answer to the Captcha method (randomised maths question) and whenever the page reloads, it creates a new instance of the Contact class, which then erases the value that has been stored in that variable.   What I'm trying to achieve is keeping the value stored even after a new instantiation of the class. I remember from a class at University that static was a way to do this, but this was in C#.

Coming to a problem:
 I have to design a function for a client from travel domain. Where he wants the script/function to go and extract data from an airline website on the available fare for a specific date and destination. The problem is that only a part of fare(Base fare) is visible on the site and you have to select one of the given flight option(s) (after selecting the option through AJAX the full fare is displayed on the same page on the left hand site) to get the complete fare including fare and surcharges.

Now i want my function/script to extract the full fare for all the available flight options. I have written the below piece of code. But its not efffective as it gets only the base fare part of the result page and not the complete fare..

I'm making an Ajax call to my database and retrieving a newsletters HTML code as the result. I then prepend it into a div area called code_content. I use some php str_replace to add some links also.

When the content loads into the div, the user can then add further content to it via Ajax calls, appending articles and that.

What I'm trying to figure out is how can I then retrieve all the newly edited contents of this code_content div soni can send it to my Ajax function to write to te db?

I have put together a options page for the script that I have been working on.  I have 1 options page where there options are divided into 4 jQuery tabs with there own save button.  The options in each tab are posted using Ajax to their own separate file like process.php, process1.php etc. 
My question is there a way to place all the processing code in one file and if so would this affect the load on the server?  Would each form be better off having their own page for processing?

I'm trying to login and scrape a page 4 pages deep.  I can get to the fourth page...but that page only returns AJAX ERROR:0.  I know NOTHING about AJAX calls via Curl.  Can someone please help me with what to look for in the source code of the 4th page (when using a browser) to what I'm supposed to pass along via CURL?

If you need the source code or login credentials to see what's happening in the background, I can generate a temp password for you.

Hello, everyone. I have code that effectively calls a PHP page with AJAX  (no JQuery).  The PHP responds fine with an echo.  Here is the javaScript that calls the PHP so refreshing the page doesn't need to be done.

I have a page that functions like this:   The user begins by loading ajaxtest.php, then using a drop-down menu, selects a user, after which a DIV on ajaxtest.php is populated with the user's selction to getuser.php?q=John%Doe   Here's a visual representation of what is currently happening, along with the part I don't understand.   getuser.php consists largely of a a large HTML table which interacts through PHP with my SQL database.  Several of the fields in this table are editable, and after the user changes one of these fields, he can press an "update" button, which calls an AJAX script in update.js and runs update.php, which contains all my SQL queries to update the database, without the user being redirected to this update.php page. All of this is processing perfectly - the user makes some sort of edit, hits "update", and the database gets updated without any redirection or refresh.   Here's what I can't figure out though.  Once the user makes a change, and hits "update," the database updates, but the end user doesn't see those changes that he made.  I can't just do a simple page refresh, because the action is taking place on getuser.php, but getuser.php is loaded inside of a #DIV on ajaxtest.php.  If I use something like window.location.reload(), this just refreshes ajaxtest.php and puts the user back to the starting point of having to select a user.  This is not what I want.  I don't want to refresh ajaxtest.php, I want to "refresh" ajaxtest.php with getuser.php?q=John%Doe insidethe DIV on ajaxtest.php.   It seems like this is very common - several forums have this capability, where a user has a page loaded, adds a comment, and sees that comment immediately without a full page refresh.  I just don't know how to do it, and I've tried at lengths to search the web for an answer with no luck.   Can someone walk me through how to do this?
