PHP - How To Delay A Php Redirect With This Code...?
quick questions..
i have this code echo '<p>message of error</p>'; echo"<script type='text/javascript'> window.location='index.php'</script>"; and i want to know how could i delay the redirect to index.php for about 5 seconds or so? i've found how to do it using header(); but I've used that before and have gotten alot of errors, which is why i use on javascript to do it for me. Similar TutorialsHi, I have some queries that update some statistics in a table I have. I need these queries to run only after 15 seconds have passed however. This way if the user leaves before the 15 seconds, the queries won't run. I've tried using Sleep, however it seems to just stop all the code all together for the allotted time. There must be a way to do this. i'm trying to use this code to detect if the browser of the user is IE (any version) and id true (if it is IE), then it's redirected to an error page; otherwise, it's ok and sent ot the index. I get the following error... Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /index.php:1) in /xie.php on line 13 any ideas.. ??? <?php function ae_detect_ie() { if (isset($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']) && (strpos($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'], 'MSIE') !== false)) return true; else return false; } if (ae_detect_ie()) { header("Location: error.php"); } else { header("Location: index.php"); } ?> Hey guys, I am not a coder at all and would love a little bit of help with my code not working. Basically, I have a redirect script that sends my visitors to a software download. I want to be able to track a snippet from the incoming refer and send it along with the download. I hope I am explaining this correctly. Here is my code: <?php $tid = $_GET["tid"]; header( 'Location: http://www.liutilities.com/affcb/?id=RBgendtd&aff=14231&xat=WU-<?php echo $tid; ?>' ); ?> The page that sends them to this script automatically adds ?tid={keyword here}. What the above script is supposed to do is grab tid and then put it after the &xat=WU- but instead, its only putting the actual code itself (&xat=WU-<?php echo $tid; ?>). Can anyone offer a suggestion? Thanks so much! Hi, can anyone help me?
I am trying to create a form which asks the user to input their postcode then submit. the purpose is so if the service my site offers is not available in the location that the end user lives, then I want to display a message saying 'Sorry, not available', but if they are in area then it redirects to another page.
My form code is:
<form method="post" action="forwarder.php"> <p> Enter Post Code He <input type = "text" name = "zip" id = "zip" size = "10" maxlength = "5" "> <input type='submit'> </form>My PHP is: <?php $zip = isset ($_POST['zip']) { if ($zip=='NG15') { header('Location: https://www.bing.com'); } else { header('Location: http://www.google.co.uk') } ?>I am a bit of a newbie at this, and I know my PHP won't give me my desired result, but I was using this to try and test the concept. Help would be really appreciated, and if you can show me how to do it for multiple postcodes even better Hi I've been working on a site for 6 months and have used the header command to redirect loads and loads of times. But i just noticed some crazy behaviour today. Heres a test page: <?php include("includes/db_connect.php"); header('location:stores.php'); $sql = "insert into test (id) values (77)"; $result = mysql_query($sql); ?> when i hit this page, i get redirected to stores.php, but the sql gets executed! Is this supposed to be the behaviour? Have i completely missed the point of header(location:)?? Im baffled as i've used this before, but only now noticed this crazy behaviour! Code: [Select] <form action="checkbox-form.php" method="post"> <input type="checkbox" name="c1" value="1" /> Pending <input type="checkbox" name="c1" value="2" /> Approved <input type="checkbox" name="c1" value="3" /> Rejected <input type="button" name="formSubmit" value="Fetch Results"/> </form> <?php $con = mysql_connect("localhost","root","password"); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect:' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("Products", $con); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM btp_reviews" ); echo "<table border='1' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0'>"; echo '<tr> <td>Id</td> <td>Review</td> <td>Name</td> <td>Update</td> <td>Status</td> </tr>'; while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { echo '<tr>'; echo '<td>' . $row['id'] . '</td>'; echo "<td>" . strip_tags($row['review']) . "</td>"; echo "<td>" . $row['r_name'] . "</td>"; echo "<td>" ."<form action='radio.php' method='post' ><a href=http://localhost/editt.php?id=".$row['id'].">Edit</a>.</td> <td>" ."<input type='radio' name='r1' value='2' />Approve<br/><input type=hidden name=id value='".$row['id']."' /> <input type='radio' name='r1' value='3' /> Reject<br/> <input type=submit value=Submit /></form>"."</td>"; } echo "</table>"; mysql_close($con); ?> Can you see any problems with the code below? It doesn't work. What I am trying to do is quite straightforward. The links on my site look like this: go.php?id=1&url=usa go.php?id=1&url=uk go.php?id=2&url=usa go.php?id=2&url=uk When a visitor clicks on one of these links, I want to grab the values of the id and url parameters, count the click, and redirect the visitor. Here's the error that I get when I try the code: Quote Warning: mysql_fetch_row() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in C:\xampp\htdocs\sites\go.php on line 18 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at C:\xampp\htdocs\sites\go.php:18) in C:\xampp\htdocs\sites\go.php on line 19 <?php $conn = mysql_connect('localhost','username', 'password') or trigger_error("SQL", E_USER_ERROR); mysql_select_db('database', $conn) or trigger_error("SQL", E_USER_ERROR); $id = intval($_GET['id']); $url = intval($_GET['url']); mysql_query("UPDATE urls SET click_counter = click_counter+1 WHERE id=$id"); if ($url=="usa") $href = "SELECT usa FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; elseif ($url=="uk") $href = "SELECT uk FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; elseif ($url=="aus") $href = "SELECT aus FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; elseif ($url=="can") $href = "SELECT can FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; else $href = "SELECT int FROM urls WHERE id=$id"; $qry = mysql_query($href); list($href)=mysql_fetch_row($qry); header("Location:$href"); mysql_close($conn); ?> Can anyone provide a snip of code that I could insert into the "coupon code" field on a formmail form which has the following effect: on submit form, user goes to the normal payment page (this is already implemented) if coupon code field is filled out with correct code, user is taken to alternate payment page on form submit. Either this or another approach which has the same result is OK. I am a novice coder working in a wysiwyg - I don't REALLY know php at all - I just need a snip I can insert and a clear instruction. Thanks so much for any help. Evening, In simple, I have a script that loops through members when submitted and sends them a confirmation email for an event. However I don't want to send 200 emails one after the other because Google would get very upset. Thus! I attempted to use sleep()() but that didn't function as I thought it would inside the loop. Causing the entire thing to wait for the amount of seconds times the result set. So. Whats would you suggest? Thanks. Hi guys and gals, i have two sites which interact with each other, if someone lands on my local site and searches, if the answer isnt found it will transfer them to my other site which has a wider range for what they are looking for. My question is, how would i go about delaying the transfer and displaying a message that the user is now being transfered to a different site? I was thinking something similar to one of those uploading please wait type overlays or somthing? Any ideas would be useful, at the moment its done with a simple form and php, but is instant. I am working on a php project in which players can equipt items from there inventory and it shows them there current stats. When players have decided to equipt an item they hit the submit button and the new stats should show. The issue I have is that the data is delaying in update such as: we have 10 strength we equipt a sword with +2 to strength and click submit it displays we have 10 strength we equipt a axe with +3 to strength and click submit it displays 12 strength we equipt a sword with +2 to strength and click submit it displays 13 strength we equipt a sword with +2 to strength and click submit it displays 12 strength .... my code is represented below <?php updateEquiptment(); require("playerInfo.php"); ?> <p title="This stat increases how hard you hit with weapons!">Strength:<?php echo $baseStrength + getModStrength() ?> </p> the functions updateEquiptment and getModStrength are in the playerInfo.php file and are shown like this: $user = $_SESSION['username']; $result = mysql_fetch_row(mysql_query("SELECT equiptment FROM warUsers WHERE name = '$user'")); $equiptment = explode(",",$result[0]); function updateEquiptment() { global $user; $result = mysql_fetch_row(mysql_query("SELECT equiptment FROM warUsers WHERE name = '$user'")) or die(mysql_error()); global $equiptment; $equiptment = explode(",",$result[0]); } //get there modified stats function getModStrength() { $total = 0; global $equiptment; foreach ($equiptment as $value) //loop through every item in the equiptment { if($value == 0 || $value == null) //if nothing is equipt go to the next loop continue; $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM items WHERE id = '$value'"); $item = mysql_fetch_row($result); $total += $item[4]; //get the items strength and add it to the total } return $total; } any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated Hello there, I was wondering what coding would be required to block users from clicking/viewing content. My idea was only to allow people to request songs every 2 minutes. would I use PHP for this in terms of the request form template which is: <?php $song = file_get_contents('http://site.com/song.php'); if(!empty($song)) { header('Location: song-requests-interface.php'); } else { header('Location: offline.html'); } ?> Or would I use JS. The trouble is, I'm unsure if JS would be able to remember the users details. They could easily refresh the page. Many thanks Monday, everything worked fine. Tuesday godaddy started updates. Now, today this.
I'm trying to get a distinct list of years from an auto database for user input. As mentioned, Monday this code worked no problems. And fyi worked fine for years.
<?php $Car_Info_Con = mysql_connect($host,"marcomdata",$password); if (!$Car_Info_Con) {die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error());} mysql_select_db("marcomdata", $Car_Info_Con); // Works, is fast, but not what I want. $Car_Info_All_SQL="SELECT * FROM car_make ORDER BY year DESC "; // These cause the page to SLOW DOWN and eventually finishes with // an empty select element. //$Car_Info_All_SQL="SELECT * FROM car_make GROUP BY year ORDER BY year DESC "; //$Car_Info_All_SQL="SELECT year FROM car_make GROUP BY year ORDER BY year DESC "; //$Car_Info_All_SQL="SELECT DISTINCT year FROM car_make ORDER BY year DESC "; echo $Car_Info_All_SQL . '<br />'; $Car_Info_All_results=mysql_query($Car_Info_All_SQL); $year_html = '<select id="year" name="year" onchange="do_Auto(this.name,this.value)"onfocus=" clear_state(this.name);" onblur="saveData(this.name,this.value);">'; if($cur_car_year=='') { $year_html.='<option></option>'; } if ($Car_Info_All_results) { while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($Car_Info_All_results)) { if ($row['year']==$cur_car_year) { $year_html.='<option selected>'.$row['year'].'</option>'; } else { $year_html.='<option>'.$row['year'].'</option>'; } } } $year_html.='</select>'; mysql_close($Car_Info_Con); echo $year_html; ?>What am I missing? I can take the above SQL statements and run them inside the database and it is ripping fast. For example, SELECT year FROM car_make GROUP BY year ORDER BY year DESC returns : Showing rows 0 - 29 (79 total, Query took 0.1548 sec) whats going on here? don't tell me it's godaddy. Was on the phone with them for a while already today and it "isn't anything on their end." Options? Thanks so much for your help! Nick I'm trying to put together a script that redirects visitors based on their IP, user agent and/or referral url. Basically I want the script to scan these three factors from the visitor, if any of them turn out to match my redirect-requirement it redirects the user. I know the code is horribly coded, I'm incredibly new to the php-scene and consider myself a complete noob. As you can see I want redirected visitors to go to google.com and un-redirected to msn.com(examples). Really thankful for all the help I can get! Right now nothing works, any suggestions? <?php function redirect($page) { Header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" ); header('Location: ' . $page); exit; } $referrals=array('pitchingit.org','referral2'); $badAgents = array("useragent1", "useragent2"); $deny = array("78.105.191..*","100.101.103..*"); if (in_array($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'], $referrals, FALSE)) { header("Location: http://www.google.com"); } else { header("Location: http://www.msn.com"); } if(in_array($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'],$badAgents)) { redirect("http://www.google.com/"); exit(); } $add=$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; foreach ($deny as $ip) { if (preg_match("^.$add.*^",$ip)) { redirect("http://www.google.com"); } } redirect("http://www.msn.com"); ?> My host has a limit of 100 emails per hour and this is now being reached to many times a day and some emails are not being sent due to this. Does anyone have a script or know of one that can stack emails to be sent in MySql or something and every 5 minutes send one out from the stack and then delete from the stack the ones sent. How can one re-direct a visitor, without using a header re-direct? I'd like a page to show up, then after about 5 seconds I need the visitor sent to another page. How can I do this? <?php $get = fetch("SELECT number FROM dom") if "$get = 1" echo "<meta http-equiv='refresh' content='0;url=http://toxicpets.co.uk/down_for_maitenence.php'>"; elseif "$get = 0" echo "<meta http-equiv='refresh' content='0;url=http://toxicpets.co.uk/index.php'>"; ?> is this code right??? Hi, I'm trying to figure out if I can get a redirect page to work, without needing to use the header("Location: page.php"); command. I know with asp, there is a response.redirect for redirecting pages, but, with the header, I can only use this, if there is no output before calling the command. Is there any method that can be used where I can process some code, if output is required, and depending on processing on the page, redirect it to another page, using a command similar to response.redirect? I have seen the http_redirect, but I can only see this working with clearing buffers etc. I have also a redirect_to("page.php"); command, but I cannot get this to work. I am using php 5. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Hi all, I have a page url that looks like this: jobs.php?view=view&id=5 Their is a login on this page, the form ends with this command: header("Location: ".$session->referrer); The fuction for this is: <?php function startSession(){ global $database; //The database connection session_start(); //Tell PHP to start the session /* Determine if user is logged in */ $this->logged_in = $this->checkLogin(); /** * Set guest value to users not logged in, and update * active guests table accordingly. */ if(!$this->logged_in){ $this->username = $_SESSION['username'] = GUEST_NAME; $this->userlevel = GUEST_LEVEL; $database->addActiveGuest($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'], $this->time); } /* Update users last active timestamp */ else{ $database->addActiveUser($this->username, $this->time); } /* Remove inactive visitors from database */ $database->removeInactiveUsers(); $database->removeInactiveGuests(); /* Set referrer page */ if(isset($_SESSION['url'])){ $this->referrer = $_SESSION['url']; }else{ $this->referrer = "/"; } /* Set current url */ $this->url = $_SESSION['url'] = $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; } ?> Basically $this->url = $_SESSION['url'] = $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; seems to cut my url to: jobs.php instead of: jobs.php?view=view&id=5 Can anyone here tell me how to fix this? Thanks Guys Hello, Basicly, I want to make a php index, but make a certain redirect from it, for example, make: http://mysite.com/index.php?goto=forums Go to forums of my link choice, is their a simple code I can use?
