PHP - Save Rows In Array
Hey,
my code doesnt work and I dont know why: $update_weed_world_data_sql = "SELECT weed_factor, weed_basis FROM worlds"; $update_weed_world_data_res = mysql_query($update_weed_world_data_sql) OR DIE (mysql_error()); while($update_weed_world_data_while = mysql_fetch_assoc($update_weed_world_data_res)){ $update_weed_world_basis[''.$update_weed_world_data_while['id'].''] = $update_weed_world_data_while['weed_basis']; $update_weed_world_factor[''.$update_weed_world_data_while['id'].''] = $update_weed_world_data_while['weed_factor']; } I want to save some rows in variables identifiable by the value in the array. As example. When I want to echo $update_weed_world_factor['1'] - I want to get the row with ID 1 and the column "world_factor". I've used this code long time ago - but know something was going wrong. Thanks for helping :-) Similar TutorialsHow can i save array from inputs, witch is $igraci and it have 5 values, to mysql base, i tryed but in mysql it shows Array. Im using PDO this time is not working, im geeting this error

Hey all.. I'm trying to pick up PHP by reading ebooks and follow tutorials. I am now busy with creating a thumbnailgallery from uploaded pics per user. I want to let the visitor scroll through a row of thumbnails by clicking next or previous. There are 3 different rows of thumbnails. Here's how it looks like: <<previous (row1 of 6thumbnails) next>> <<previous (row2 of 6thumbnails) next>> <<previous (row3..... ) next>> when page loads mysql fetches rows of information for the filenames...then there is a foreach row loop that does first a do ..while loop to build up the thumbnailrows...and then creates the navigation links previous and next who send the "page"+1 or "page"-1 to _GET array so that the thumbnail 7 until 12 will be shown. The problem i run into is that i want the main code page to remember at which "page" of scrolling through the thumnails he is. Now it is that when a user scrolls one row of thumbnails and stops at the 3rd "page" of it and then clicks on a different row to go to "page" 2 of that row that all the rows jump together back to "page" 1. I thought there may be a solution in storing the number of row and the number of page into an array but can't seem to find a solution.... Has anybody got experience in this? Help would be very welcome i'm totally stuck and cant read about it in tutorials/ebooks.... greets from holland.. GJ Hi, Ok, so I'm making a registration form system, where I can create new registration forms for the users to pick a date etc. In my form I can add and remove text fields via Javascript - to add additional dates etc. so I don't know if I'll be submitting 3 fields or 15. The could look like this: <input type="hidden" name="session_id[]" value="<?php echo $session_id; ?>"> <input type="text" name="picked_date[]"> <input type="text" name="picked_room[]"> They are put in a big array: De bliver smidt i et stort array: $n=0; foreach ($session_id as $_session_id) { $bigar[$n][1] = $_session_id; $n++; } $n=0; foreach ($picked_date as $_picked_date) { $bigar[$n][2] = $_picked_date; $n++; } $n=0; foreach ($picked_room as $_picked_room) { $bigar[$n][3] = $_picked_room; $n++; } $n=0; which is then updated in the database using: foreach ($bigar as $part) { mysql_query("UPDATE... } Right - so far so good. The updating works fine with existing fields, but if I remove some of the fields (via JS) it obviously only updates the remaining in the array. The left out will be ignored. On the same note I would like to add fields as well, so - the bottom line - I want to: - UPDATE rows, where the ID is in the array - DELETE existing rows, WHERE the ID is NOT in the array - CREATE new rows for the new fields in the array (not having an ID) How can this be achieved? Hope someone can help... i was wonderin if there is a function where you can get a column in an array format... if there is none, how could I put a row of names inside an array. Code: [Select] @include ("../session.php"); include ("../addons/functions/general.php"); mysql_connect("localhost", "", "") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("") or die(mysql_error()); $result = mysql_query("SELECT friendname FROM friends where username='$session->username'"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { } $response = array(); $names = array('ROW of NAMES in HERE); i need $names = array('ROW of Names in Here); to be like this Code: [Select] $names = array('Abraham Lincoln', 'Adolf Hitler', 'Agent Smith', 'Agnus', 'AIAI', 'Akira Shoji', 'Akuma', 'Alex', 'Antoinetta Marie', 'Baal', 'Baby Luigi', 'Backpack', 'Baralai', 'Bardock', 'Baron Mordo', 'Barthello', 'Blanka', 'Bloody Brad', 'Cagnazo', 'Calonord', 'Calypso', 'Cao Cao', 'Captain America', 'Chang', 'Cheato', 'Cheshire Cat', 'Daegon', 'Dampe', 'Daniel Carrington', 'Daniel Lang', 'Dan Severn', 'Darkman', 'Darth Vader', 'Dingodile', 'Dmitri Petrovic', 'Ebonroc', 'Ecco the Dolphin', 'Echidna', 'Edea Kramer', 'Edward van Helgen', 'Elena', 'Eulogy Jones', 'Excella Gionne', 'Ezekial Freeman', 'Fakeman', 'Fasha', 'Fawful', 'Fergie', 'Firebrand', 'Fresh Prince', 'Frylock', 'Fyrus', 'Lamarr', 'Lazarus', 'Lebron James', 'Lee Hong', 'Lemmy Koopa', 'Leon Belmont', 'Lewton', 'Lex Luthor', 'Lighter', 'Lulu'); I have a simple foreach loop. The array has four rows in it. Really simple. I have confirmed the data in the array with var_dump. For some reason I cannot fathom, the loop is only processing rows 0 and 2 and is not processing 1 and 3.
Here's the code snippet:
<?php foreach ($postCals as $key=>$cal){ var_dump($postCals, $cal, $key); echo '<td style="text-align:right;>' . $cal . "</td>"; } ?>$postCals has precisely 4 values. Here's the output from this part of the code (in terms of the var_dumps). array (size=4) 0 => string '2.00000' (length=7) 1 => string '2.00000' (length=7) 2 => string '3.20000' (length=7) 3 => string '4.00000' (length=7) string '2.00000' (length=7) int 0 array (size=4) 0 => string '2.00000' (length=7) 1 => string '2.00000' (length=7) 2 => string '3.20000' (length=7) 3 => string '4.00000' (length=7) string '3.20000' (length=7) int 2 That's it. I two other foreach loops identical to this and they run fine! Any ideas? (misc info: php: 5.4.7 running on XAMPP/Windows ) Hi there. I have a page that lists the records of a table. On this page I want to be able to edit/update two attributes of these records by a checkbox - e.g., being able to update multiple records at once. I thought the smartest way to achieve this would be by using arrays. I've implemented one checkbox array and have two fields. Currently when I change both fields and hit submit, the height value changes and the name value is changed to the last record displayed in the table. E.g. Height - 170 -> 160 -> UPDATED TO 160 Name - Test1 -> Test2 -> UPDATED TO VICTORY (last record listed in table; displayed alphabetically) My code is as follows: <?php include("connection.php"); $conn = oci_connect($UName,$PWord,$DB) or die("Database Error - Contact Admin - sjrei5@student.monash.edu"); if (empty($_POST["check"])) { $query = "SELECT * FROM HORSE ORDER BY HORSE_NAME"; $stmt = oci_parse($conn,$query); oci_execute($stmt); $Horses = oci_fetch_array ($stmt); ?> <form method="post" action="horse_multi.php"> <table border="1" id="customers"> <tr> <th>ID</th> <th>EDIT</th> <th>NAME</th> <th>HEIGHT</th> </tr> <?php while ($Horses = oci_fetch_array ($stmt)) { ?> <tr> <td><?php echo $Horses["HORSE_ID"]; ?></td> <td align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="check[]" value="<?php echo $Horses["HORSE_ID"]; ?>"></td> <td align="center"><input type="text" size="5" name="<?php echo $Horses["HORSE_ID"]; ?>" value="<?php echo $Horses["HORSE_HEIGHT"]; ?>"></td> <td align="center"><input type="text" size="20" name="HORSE_NAME" value="<?php echo $Horses['HORSE_NAME']; ?>"></td> </tr> <?php } ?> </table><p /> <h4><input type="submit" value="Update Selected Horses"></h4> </form> <?php oci_free_statement($stmt); } else { foreach($_POST["check"] as $horse_id) { $query = "UPDATE HORSE SET HORSE_NAME= '$_POST[HORSE_NAME]', HORSE_HEIGHT = ".$_POST[$horse_id]." WHERE HORSE_ID ='".$horse_id."'"; $stmt = oci_parse($conn,$query); oci_execute($stmt); } } ?> </body> </html> Any ideas? Hey guys! I have the following script to create an excel file, the thing is that I dont want to be asked if I want to open or save the file when accessing the php file...I just want the php file directly to save the excel file. Heres the code: $filename = "test.xls"; $contents = "testdata1 \ntestdata2 \ntestdata3 \n"; header('Content-type: application/vnd.ms-excel'); header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='.$filename); echo $contents; Is there a way instead of using the header function, use something like: fopen, fwrite, fclose ? Thanks in advance! Cheers, I'm trying to set different colors on rows of a table using an array, Problem is I cannot get it to work right, i'm not sure where to place my for loop so that it works right and generates a different color for different row. Code: [Select] $color = array(red,green,blue); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($exec)) { echo '<tr>'; echo '<td>'.$row['brand_name'].'</td>'; echo '<td>'.$row['contact_name'].'</td>'; echo '<td>'.$row['contact_info'].'</td>'; echo '<td>'.$row['email'].'</td>'; echo '<td>'.$row['description'].'</td>'; echo '</tr>'; } I tried putting for loop only for tr, but it didnt work. Code: [Select] for ($i=0;$i<=count($color);$i++) { echo "<tr bgcolor=\"".$color[$i]."\">"; } I cannot put it within the while loop, it'll repeat the rows for all the colors. So where exactly do I place the for loop so that it works right? Hi Guys! Trying to display data in 3 rows horizontally and 25 vertiacally Code: [Select] // Print out result while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ echo "There are ". $row['COUNT(biddersId)'] ." bidders logged."; echo "<br />"; } $query = "SELECT * FROM bidders ORDER BY biddersId"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); echo "<table border='1'>"; echo "<tr> <th>Bidders</th>"; // keeps getting the next row until there are no more to get while($row = mysql_fetch_array( $result )) { // Print out the contents of each row into a table echo "<tr><td>"; echo"<font face= \"calibri\" size=\"3\">"; echo $row['biddersId']; echo "</br>"; echo "</td><td>"; } echo "</table>"; ?> I am trying to print out rows of images and pieces them to form a bigger map but having a little trouble printing out correctly. I am doing the following... A numbered text file with rows of numbers like these: 33.txt Code: [Select] 48,48,49,49,48,47,48,49,48,50,50,48,50,49,48,49,49,49 49,11,4,8,50,11,4,4,8,48,11,4,4,8,48,11,8,50 ... The number represent different area and the number in the text file represent each individual pieces of that particular area. the number of rows and columns are arbitrary. Example: Here is my code at the moment but there is something wrong in it as I can't seems to correctly print everything out... Code: [Select] <?php $file = file_get_contents("33.txt"); // can be any numbered text files $entries = explode("\n", $file); echo "Entries <br /><hr />"; for($i=0;$i < sizeof($entries);$i++){ for($j=0;$j < sizeof($entries);$j++){ $data = explode(",", $entries[$j]); echo "<td align=\"center\" background=\"test/33_"; echo $data[$j]; echo ".gif\" width=\"65\" height=\"65\"> <table border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" width=\"65\" height=\"65\"> <tbody><tr> <td> <center></center> </td> </tr></tbody> </table> </td>"; } } ?> Hello all, im new to this forum, im a noobie, just started coding about 3 weeks ago, don't be too hard on me.
My question is I wan't to check for challenges a user's team posted that have not been excepted after 1 day, then auto refund the user's team back there credits, and then also delete all the challenges. So far here is my code.
//Delete all matches not accepted after 1 day $arrayin = array(); $autorefund = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `challenges` WHERE `a` = " . $team['id'] . " " . "AND `accepted` = 0 AND `completed` = 0 AND `chtype` = 1 AND (`expires` < " . ((int) time()) . ")"); if (mysql_num_rows($autorefund) > 0) { while ($autorefund = mysql_fetch_assoc($autorefund)) { $arrayin[] = $autorefund['id']; mysql_query("UPDATE `teams` SET `balance` = `balance` + " . $autorefund['credits'] . " " . "WHERE `id` IN (" . mysql_real_escape_string(implode(',', $arrayin)) . ")"); mysql_query("DELETE FROM `challenges` WHERE `a` IN " . "(" . mysql_real_escape_string(implode(',', $arrayin)) . ") " . "AND `accepted` = 0 AND `completed` = 0 AND `chtype` = 1 " . "AND (`expires` < " . ((int) time()) . ")"); } }FYI here is the code i had, it works fine, however it will only delete 1 challenge per team, not all of there challenges. $autorefund = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `challenges` WHERE `a` = " . $team['id'] . " AND `accepted` = 0 AND `completed` = 0 AND `chtype` = 1 AND (`expires` < ".((int)time()).")"); if (mysql_num_rows($autorefund) > 0) { while ($autorefund = mysql_fetch_assoc($autorefund)) { if ($autorefund['accepted'] == 0 and $autorefund['expires'] < time()) { mysql_query("UPDATE `teams` SET `balance` = `balance` + " . $autorefund['credits'] . " WHERE `id` = " . $team['id'] . ""); mysql_query("DELETE FROM `challenges` WHERE `a` = " . $team['id'] . " AND `accepted` = 0 AND `completed` = 0 AND `chtype` = 1 AND (`expires` < ".((int)time()).")); } } }I inherited this script, its using deprecated statements, i know im not skilled to rewrite the entire site to use prepared statements. I've been using this code for a long time and realised it's very repetitive, but the id_column I want changes all the time function getRows() { $query = mysql_query($sql); $rows = array(); while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $rows[$row['id_column']] = $row; } return $rows; } So I wrote this function that will automatically create an array with a column I choose if I wish, but I'm not sure if it's very efficient. function getRows($query, $column_id = false) { $rows = array(); while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { if($column_id === false) { $rows[] = $row; } else { if(isset($row[$column_id])) { $rows[$row[$column_id]] = $row; } else { $rows[] = $row; } } } return $rows; } I would appreciate some input as to make it better. Thanks. I've got my code working OK in that the correct results are drawn from the database. What I have here in the code is an array consisting of an image, accompanied by its title and thirdly a link to activate a quiz associated with the image. Everything works fine, except because the page is dynamic, I always have an unknown number of sets of data (image, title and link) which I want to display so that each set of data takes up a new row. The code I have here, while displaying the correct data, places all of the results into the same row. Any suggestions are most welcome. Code: [Select] <?php // Query the database $query1 = mysql_query("SELECT title FROM topics WHERE managerId='".$managerId."' AND egroup1='"."1"."' ORDER BY title ASC"); $query2 = mysql_query("SELECT url_small FROM topics WHERE managerId='".$managerId."' AND egroup1='"."1"."' ORDER BY title ASC"); $query3 = mysql_query("SELECT title FROM topics WHERE managerId='".$managerId."' AND egroup1='"."1"."' ORDER BY title ASC"); while($row1 = mysql_fetch_array($query3)) { $linkname .= $row1['title']."<br />\n"; } ?> <table> <tr> <td> <?php while ($row2 = mysql_fetch_array($query2)) { $thumbnail.= $row2['url_small']; echo "<img src='wood_tool_images/{$row2['url_small']}' alt='' /><br />\n"; } ?> </td> <td height="200"> <?php echo $linkname ?> </td> <td> <?php while ($row1 = mysql_fetch_array($query1)) { $quizname.= $row1['title']; echo "<a href='../{$row1['title']} Safety Quiz/{$row1['title']} Safety Quiz.php'>Take This Quiz</a><br />\n"; } ?> </td> </tr> </table> I am trying to array data to database against same id.
Here is code.

Please help me. I'm fairly new to php and have been looking for answers on Goog for about two weeks or so with not an answer. This is my first post on a forum of any type. I have a form on a php page that when submitted sends a value to a confirm php page Code: [Select] <form action='buyconfirmorder.php' method='post'> Purchase: <input type='text' name='ask_shares'><br /><br /> You Will Pay:  <input type='text' name='ask'><br /><br /> <input type='hidden' name='postcardname' value='$postcardname'> <input type='submit' name='submit' value='Order'> </form> I need to take the users input from the form and subtract each row from a mysql DB one at a time until the users input is down to a remainder and then I need the remainder (I'll be working with the remainder as well). Code: [Select] $query = mysql_query(" SELECT * FROM ask, search WHERE search.id = ask.card_search_id AND search.card_name = '$postcardname' ORDER BY ask_price ASC"); The array will be numbers only. So an example would be: User input from the form is 100.00 Code: [Select] while($rows = mysql_fetch_array($query)) { $ask_price = $rows['ask_price']; } Let's say the array is 50.50, 40.50, 35.00 I need some code to do: 100.00 - 50.50 = 49.50 49.50 - 40.50 = 9.00 9.00 - 35.00 = <0 does not do anything so remainder = 9.00 would it be something like Code: [Select] $new_ask_shares = $_POST['ask_shares']; //some sort of a loop or array or combo of both ($new_ask_shares - $ask_price); the numbers are just an example as the actual numbers will be different each time I query my DB. Thanks in advance Hi, after banging my head against the wall for a while thinking this would be a simple task, I'm discovering that this is more complicated than I thought. Basically what I have is a link table linking together source_id and subject_id. For each subject there are multiple sources associated with each. I had created a basic listing of sources by subject... no problem. I now need a way of having a form to create an ordered list in a user-specified way. In other words, I can currently order by id or alphabetically (subject name lives on a different table), but I need the option of choosing the order in which they display. I added another row to this table called order_by. No problem again, and I can manage all of this in the database, however I want to create a basic form where I can view sources by subject and then enter a number that I can use for sorting. I started off looping through each of the entries and the database (with a where), and creating a foreach like so (with the subject_id being grabbed via GET from the URL on a previous script) Code: [Select] while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($rs)) { //update row order if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { //get variables, and assign order $subject_id = $_GET['subject_id']; $order_by = $_POST['order_by']; $source_id = $row['source_id']; //echo 'Order by entered as ' . $order_by . '<br />'; foreach ($_POST['order_by'] as $order_by) { $qorder = "UPDATE source_subject set order_by = '$order_by' WHERE source_id = '$source_id' AND subject_id = '$subject_id'"; mysqli_query($dbc, $qorder) or die ('could not insert order'); // echo $subject_id . ', ' . $order_by . ', ' . $source_id; // echo '<br />'; } } else { $subject_id = $_GET['subject_id']; $order_by = $row['order_by']; $source_id = $row['source_id']; } And have the line in the form like so: Code: [Select] echo '<input type="text" id="order_by" name="order_by[]" size="1" value="'. $order_by .'"/> (yes I know I didn't escape the input field... it's all stored in an htaccess protected directory; I will clean it up later once I get it to work) This, of course, results in every source_id getting the same "order_by" no matter what I put into each field. I'm thinking that I need to do some sort of foreach where I go through foreach source_id and have it update the "order_by" field for each one, but I must admit I'm not sure how to go about this (the flaws of being self-taught I suppose; I don't have anyone to go to on this). I'm hoping someone here can help? Thanks a ton in advance what Im basically trying to do is just like a phpmyadmin function... you select rows you want to update with a checkbox and then it takes you to a page where the rows that are clicked are shown in forms so that you can view and edit info in them... and then have 1 submit button to update them all at once. |
