PHP - Web Interface For Displaying Various Service States
Hello,
I use loads of different servers at work and they all run seperate services that I need to keep my stuff running. I want to build a simple webpage that will poll the services and display the current state by colour. EG have table that lists the services in green and have them turn red if the service stops unexpectedly. I can build the tables and stuff, I just don't know how to retrieve the state of a service. I've been messing about with some ideas but nothing is working. eg lets say I have two servers each with one service: service one | IP Address of server | RUNNING service two | IP Address of server | STOPPED Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks!! Similar TutorialsOkay, On my original problem, I have been able to authenticate with the web service login service, and extract a cookie as follows from the web-service: $s_Cookie = $agLoginService->agGetCookie(); $s_Cookie = AGSESSION=oxhbjcKtPw5sOymAD8m8KcKR6JL4i+TIE5mZxwOrXLwCRr8iTOvPxA==; Now, I create data access soapclient: $agDataService = new SoapClient($s_DataURL, $a_SoapOptions); //yes I know I should build my own class wrapper around soapClient, but I am trying to make sure I know what to build before I do next in the process I need to set the cookie for the data access service. I tried using: <b>$agDataService->__setCookie('cookie', $s_Cookie);</b> but I don't think it's right because when I call any of the service's functions, I get no data back. This is what their engineer had to say ( he is no help in php at all) This is a question referring the http headers. He needs to set the cookies as given in the examples on the wiki page. The cookie is specified in a response http header as: Set-Cookie. So the http headers he got back are correct. The cookie he has to set is AGSESSION=oxhbjcKtPw5sOymAD8m8KcKR6JL4i+TIE5mZxwOrXLwCRr8iTOvPxA==; There should be an api for setting the cookie if not there is one for setting the http header. Set the http header name for the request (cookie - notice that is different than what you get back from an http response - read the rfc spec for http for all of the details) then set the value. The semi colon at the end is the delimiter for http headers (in the rfc). That is all he needs to do if he gets back some login error that means the cookies did not get set correctly. Any ideas or help will be great. Thank you. I'm needing some direction in how to start this... I have a page with the 50 U.S. states listed. I have a column in my mysql database that holds each state's name called: source There's a few thousands rows in my database, so the state names vary in the record count. How can I query the database and have a little count by each one of my 50 states that shows how many results exist in the db for that state? I know how to query for total rows and show that number... but confused on how I would do it for individual line items. Thanks for any suggestions. I've got 2 database tables (states, stores) and I want to output all the states with a list of specific locations under each state. My 'states' table has a 'state_id' and 'state' while my 'stores' table has all the store information along with the 'state_id' to work with the 'states' table. How would I ago about formulating a loop to display all locations organized by each state, etc.? I am having a helluva time trying to populate my state option box with a state array. I have the array set but now how does this get called into the foreach block where the select box is? I can populate it i guess with options manually but I want to get the array to display in the box instead. I tried everything with the minimal experience I have so I need a little help, I got the select box up and displaying where I want it but I cant populate it with an array call. See foreach block near the end of the code: Thanks a bunch! here is my include file code so far: <?php /* Program name: form_test_state.inc * Description: Defines a form that collects a user's * name and mailing address. */ $rows = array( "first_name" => "First Name", "last_name" => "Last Name", "phone" => "Phone Number", "city" => "City", "state" => "State", "address" => "Address", "zip_code" => "ZIP Code", "e_mail" => "E-Mail"); $states_list = array('AL'=>"Alabama",'AK'=>"Alaska",'AZ'=>"Arizona",'AR'=>"Arkansas",'CA'=>"California",'CO'=>"Colorado",'CT'=>"Connecticut",'DE'=>"Delaware",'DC'=>"District Of Columbia",'FL'=>"Florida",'GA'=>"Georgia",'HI'=>"Hawaii",'ID'=>"Idaho",'IL'=>"Illinois", 'IN'=>"Indiana", 'IA'=>"Iowa", 'KS'=>"Kansas",'KY'=>"Kentucky",'LA'=>"Louisiana",'ME'=>"Maine",'MD'=>"Maryland", 'MA'=>"Massachusetts",'MI'=>"Michigan",'MN'=>"Minnesota",'MS'=>"Mississippi",'MO'=>"Missouri",'MT'=>"Montana",'NE'=>"Nebraska",'NV'=>"Nevada",'NH'=>"New Hampshire",'NJ'=>"New Jersey",'NM'=>"New Mexico",'NY'=>"New York",'NC'=>"North Carolina",'ND'=>"North Dakota",'OH'=>"Ohio",'OK'=>"Oklahoma", 'OR'=>"Oregon",'PA'=>"Pennsylvania",'RI'=>"Rhode Island",'SC'=>"South Carolina",'SD'=>"South Dakota",'TN'=>"Tennessee",'TX'=>"Texas",'UT'=>"Utah",'VT'=>"Vermont",'VA'=>"Virginia",'WA'=>"Washington",'WV'=>"West Virginia",'WI'=>"Wisconsin",'WY'=>"Wyoming"); $submit = "Submit mailing information"; ?> <html> <head> <style type='text/css'> <!-- body { background: #42413C; color: #000; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 90%; } form { margin: 1em 2 2 2; padding: 1; width: 1100px; margin-left: 35%; } .field {padding-bottom: 1em; } label { font-weight: bold; float: left; width: 10%; margin-right: 1em; text-align: right; background-color: #9F6; padding-right: 5px; } select {margin-bottom: 1em;} #submit { margin-left: 15%; } h3 { width: 500px; margin-left: 35%; } --> </style> </head> <body> <h3>Please enter your mailing information below:</h3> <?php /* loop that displays the form */ echo "<form action='checkBlankOnly_latest.php' method='post'>"; foreach($rows as $field => $label) if($field == "state") { echo "<label for='$field'>$label</label> <select name='State'> <<<< Insert $states_list array here I am trying to figure out >>>> <option value='state'>Alabama </option> </select> "; } else { echo "<div class='field'><label for='$field'>$label</label> <input id='$field' name='$field' type='text' value='".@$$field."' size='25%' maxlength='65' /></div>\n"; } echo "<div id='submit'> <input type='submit' value='$submit'></div>"; ?> </form> </body> </html> I am just starting out with PHP. I have resorted to doing some custom PHP programming because the plug-INs for a CMS I am using need a little customization. The question I have is very simple and I am sure PHP programmers can answer this instantly. I have successfully declared a global PHP variable. All I need to know how to do for now is how to declare a button or a hyperlink or an input form element such that it can change the assignment of this variable. Hello there, I didn't know where to post this topic. However, I'm curious to know if it's possible to add FTP web interface to our website for clients to login to and access our FTP Server we've setup on our server here at the office? Basically, we want to add a link to our homepage: www.slarc.com that will jump to a login screen and have a web interface where clients can download and upload files to that server? How might I go about this? Is there a script already written, all I found on google was software and remote FTP servers. We want to use our own. Thanks, Lorne I built an application for a client of mine using PHPRunner about 3 years ago. It has functioned perfectly right up to today when they notified me that they were unable to Export any records. I have attached the error report that comes up when you run Export function. According to the report it is unable to find a file or path. I have been on to server with FTP client and all the paths, files and contents are present. Can anyone please give me any advise on what might suddenly cause this error after many years. All other functionality of the Database is fine. Many thanks, Carl. Edited August 1, 2019 by wscwt01 Spelling error Hello guys, hope all of you are doing good. I want to ask a quick question . I have developed this track and trace application (php script) through which users can trace their shipment by entering a bill of lading number in the track and trace interface on our website and then the information stored in our database is displayed to them. Currently, what I do to add new or change the status of existing bill of lading numbers is that first I have to log in to the cPanel of my website, then I need to log in to phpmyadmin and then I can add new bill of lading numbers or change the number of existing bill of lading numbers. This is a pretty long way and I don't want to give the cPanel password to other employees so that they can do the job of entering bill of lading numbers. So I was thinking that can an interface be created through which any employee can add new or change the status etc. of the bill of lading numbers stored in the database without actually logging in to phpmyadmin? The interface would obviously be connected to the database and any new bill of lading number entered through the interface should automatically be stored in the database. And on the other hand, the bill of lading numbers which are already stored in the database, they can also be edited through this interface. Please let me know if such an interface can be created. And if yes, is there any tutorial on how this can be done? Thanks. Hello! I have sim card, how can we integrate it with server and use web interface to send sms and other requests, all handled via PHP?? Just an idea will be appreciated. thanks watsmyname I've been searching high and low for some decent (actually, they can be crap, just be REAL) real-world examples of uses of abstract classes and interfaces. I've seen many design patterns, and I get the concept, but now I need to put them into practice. And I gotta say, I'm absolutely sick of class Animal, class Dog extends Animal, class Vehicle, class Van extends Vehicle examples. Those are CRAP for illustrating real uses of the functionality given to us by OOP. It's one thing to teach a concept, and it's another to put into use within a real application. I can only find the former and the not the latter. Does anyone have any links to, or can they post their own examples of, abstract classes and interfaces in use? I'm trying to add some data into my database through a form interface, but this form submits even when the page loads. This means the form submits regardless of the validation I have set in place, so every time the page is loaded, the database receives empty fields. Could you guys please help me with my problem? Here's my code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd">; <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">; <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Form to add quotes</title> </head> <body> <?php //defining variables $genre = ""; $error_quote=""; $error_author=""; $error_date=""; $error_url=""; $error_genre=""; $quote = ""; $author=""; $q_date=""; $url=""; $output_form = true; if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { $output_form = true; if (trim($quote)=='' OR strlen(trim($quote)) < 2 OR strlen(trim($quote)) > 16) { $error_quote="Please enter a <b>Quote</b> between 2 to 16 characters long <br/>"; } if(trim($author)=='' OR strlen(trim($author)) < 2 OR strlen(trim($author)) > 16) { $error_author="Please enter an <b>Author</b> between 2 to 16 characters long <br/>"; } if(trim($q_date)=='' OR strlen(trim($q_date)) < 2 OR strlen(trim($q_date)) > 24) { $error_date="Please enter a <b>Date</b> between 2 to 24 characters long <br/>"; } if(trim($url)=='' OR strlen(trim($url)) < 2 OR strlen(trim($url)) > 246) { $error_url="Please enter a <b>URL</b> between 2 to 246 characters long <br/>"; } if(!isset($genre) OR $genre=='') { $error_genre=" - Please select a <b>Genre</b>. <br/>"; } } else { $output_form = false; } if ($output_form) { ?> <form method="post" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>"> <table> <tr><td>Quote</td><td><input type="text" name="quote" value="<?php if (isset($quote)) echo $quote ; ?>"></td><td><?php echo $error_quote;?></td></tr> <tr><td>Author</td><td><input type="text" name="author" value="<?php if (isset($author)) echo $author ; ?>"></td><td><?php echo $error_author;?></td></tr> <tr><td>Date</td><td><input type="text" name="q_date" value="<?php if (isset($q_date)) echo $q_date ; ?>"></td><td><?php echo $error_date;?></td></tr> <tr><td>URL</td><td><input type="text" name="url" value="<?php if (isset($url)) echo $url ; ?>"></td><td><?php echo $error_url;?></td></tr> </table> <p>Gen </p><p> <input type="radio" name="genre" value="humour" <?php if (isset($genre) AND $genre=="humour") echo $genre; ?> />Humour <?php echo $error_genre;?> <input type="radio" name="genre" value="politics" <?php if (isset($genre) AND $genre=="politics") echo $genre; ?> />Politics <?php echo $error_genre;?> <input type="radio" name="genre" value = "romance" <?php if (isset($genre) AND $genre=="romance") echo $genre; ?>/>Romance <?php echo $error_genre;?> </p> <p><input type = "submit" name="submit" value = "add quote" /></p> </form> <?php } $dbhost = 'localhost'; $dbuser = '...'; $dbpass = '...'; $dbname = 'anevins'; // make a connection to the database $conn = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) OR die('Connection failed: '. mysql_error()); // select the database mysql_select_db($dbname) OR die('Database select failed: '. mysql_error()); // set up the query to insert the new data $query = "INSERT INTO quotes (id, quote, author, q_date, url, genre) VALUES ('', '$quote', '$author', '$q_date', '$url', '$genre')"; $result = mysql_query($query) OR die('Query failed: ' . mysql_error()); echo "<p>Thank you for adding your quote</p>"; mysql_close($conn); exit(); ?> </body> </html> I'm working on an application and it seems that the else block is being executed no matter what in the following if statement. My question (which seems really basic and like I should know the answer but I can't seem to remember) is if you have an object instance in an if statement, how does that resolve? Will it resolve to true because there is an object there? I assume/think that would be the behaviour but I can't remember. Also, I'll point out the class I'm working with is Zend_Mail. From my understanding the send method will return an instance of $this upon success and will throw an exception on failure. The mail is being sent but the else block is executing anyway. I may just throw it in a try catch if that's better. Code: [Select] if ($mail->send()) { return true; } else { $NOTICE++; $NOTICESTR[] = "We were unable to e-mail an e-mail notification <strong>".$to["email"]."</strong>.<br /><br />A system administrator was notified of this issue, but you may wish to contact this learner manually and let them know their accommodation has been removed."; application_log("error", "Unable to send accommodation notification to [".$to["email"]."] / type [".$type."]. Zend_Mail said: ".$mail->ErrorInfo); } Thanks in advance. I'll check back in a bit.
No idea how to add a new line so it's easier to read in the terminal. Debugging this way is absolutely horrible.
Edited by Monkuar, 03 December 2014 - 09:06 AM. I'm getting the following result from a web service call. I'd like to pass it to another page, possibly using sessions, and then access specific values on that page, such as FirstName.
stdClass Object ( [GetProspectAsJSONResult] => [ { "ProspectId": xxxxxx, "Keycode": "Test", "FirstName": "Test", "LastName": "Test", "Company": "Test","Email": null } ] )
I'm not sure what the best way to do this is.
Thanks!
Hi Guys/Gals, I am new to PHP and when I say new, I mean I know a variable is $variable name... that is about it. I am a .Net developer, always was, now I have to learn some php. I have a .Net payment gateway service that I would like to reference from a php site. I was hoping anyone could point me in the right direction on how to go about adding a .Net Service and pointing to it in PHP. Please note this is a WPF service, thus it is a .svc page not a .asmx and it is hosted and running on iis on a server. Please some guidance? Any help would be appreciated. Hi, guys. I just developed and published first version of 12framework for iOS which can call also PHP web services.
It is web service client which generates dynamic forms from web service results, and enables insert, update and delete of records. You can simply change result field type to text, memo, date, bool.
I also made some simple PHP web service to test functionallity of application, so I will really appreciate your feedback. iOS is locked platform, so 12framework provides possibility, to make some useful data forms that works as native application. Link: https://itunes.apple...88083?ls=1&mt=8
Curious how to set a returned value from a web service to a php variable? Code: [Select] $tid= $_POST['tid']; $client = new SoapClient("http://www.sitename.com/WebSvc.asmx?WSDL"); $result = $client->getName(array('tid'=>$tid)); echo json_encode($result); Returns this: Code: [Select] {"getNameResult":{"count":1,"results":{"TaggedText":{"tid":"001","text":"John Smith"}}}} How do I set a php variable $RetName to equal John Smith? I tried Code: [Select] $RetName = $text; But that didn't work. Any help is apprecaited.
