PHP - Failed To Open Stream: No Such File Or Directory
Hello, this is my first post I hope you guys can help me out here, basically whats going on is I declare a variable "$diree" then I insert it in a function but its not getting recognized, here is the code:

I've tried copy() and also a script from the comments on copy() http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.copy.php#102320 No matter how I try to open the file I get " failed to open stream: No such file or directory". I tried changing the name of the file, and the ext, and both. The file does exist, and if I run cp old new, the file gets copied fine. an array of image names extracted form an images table from a database using a select statement
a random number generator,
and a string that builds the correct pathname for the selected file.
To select one of the images for display, i generate a random number between 1 and the length of the array.
Though the generator is working, I noticed one of the random numbers is throwing up this error:

The script also uses javascript for multiple image upload. I am using XAMPP. The folder "thumbs" is set to "read-only", when I try to uncheck the "read-only" option in the properties in Windows then it sets itself back again to "read-only". Then again, the script works fine when it comes to the "uploads" folder. This is mentioned in comparison to the "thumbs" folder. Any suggestions on how to solve this? EDIT: I am using XAMPP. I've got a php script creating directories but it seems when I open them it says 'Failed to retrieve directory listing' within Filezilla as though the directory doesn't exist. I'm giving them the 0700 permission and in Filezilla if I give them 777 it still doesn't work. But it got me thinking about a project of mine that I am working on and the need to pump out a downloadable file.
