<Note> <from> Ahmad </from> <to> Yasir </to> <body> hello yasir. </Note> Above is my xml file which misses the ending tag of <body>. i want a php program that will detect this error and also fix the error and place the ending tag. can someone help me? Similar TutorialsI wonder if some kind-hearted person can help me? I am trying to download a video file which has a wmv. The protocol is either mms:// or http:// I can see the video in my browser but I cannot download it using curl or wget in a program and I need to download a few of these. They are publicly viewable so they are not private stuff. The URL is http://210.150.12.140/vod11/tepco/other/1111_01.wmv?MSWMExt=.asf or mms://wmt.stream.co.jp/vod11/tepco/other/1111_01.wmv All I get at the moment is a text file of less than 1K and not the movie itself. How would I download this file please? Thanks Paul ...and the file is to be copied into a folder created by me. I was wondering what the file path would be for Windows, since it does not seem to recognise the file path that I have chosen: Upload Form code: Code: [Select] <html> <head><title>Car Accident Report Uploader</title></head> <body> <form action="fileuploadform.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="file" size="45" name ="file"><br> <input type="submit" value = "Upload Car Accident Report"> </form> </body> </html> Copying Script Code: Code: [Select] <?php if ($_FILES['file']['name'] !="") { copy ($_FILES['file']['tmp_name'], 'C:\xampp\htdocs\rcm' . $_FILES['file']['name']) or die ("Could not copy Car Accident Report Form"); } else {die ("No Car Accident Report Form has been chosen");} ?> <html> <head><title>Car Accident Report Form Upload Complete</title></head> <body><h3>Car Accident Report Form has been uploaded</h3> <ul> <li>Sent: <?php echo $_FILES['file']['name']; ?> <li>Size: <?php echo $_FILES['file']['size']; ?> bytes <li>Type: <?php echo $_FILES['file']['type']; ?> <a href = "<?php echo $_FILES['file']['name']; ?>"> Click here to view the Car Accident Report Form</a> </body> </html> If anyone can help me find the relevant file path, it would be appreciated! Hello Friends... I am creating a HTML webpage and connecting with MYSQL. If the client will check the conditions, it will pass it to PHP and get values from MYSQL and print it in the webpage as a HTML table format. Now i want to create a SAVE button and save the HTML TAble values as TXT tab demilited file. I tried of creating a TXT file by using fopen() and write the values by using fwrite() function. But it is working only in the putty. While running the program from the browser, its not working. Will somebody help me to solve this prob? I also was searched for creating a TXT file from HTML table. But i wouldnt get any codes reg this.... Thanks Rose
For example with an IDE to run a program is there a way to put some code in the path and let it tell me where it came from like a referral? $ref = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']; echo("$ref<br>"; Result: https://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=lambo As you can clearly see the page that we have entered the code in is referred by the URL here. It tells me that it was last at a word press page /wp-admin/admin-php and I can go to that page and it will be the last page it was at.. So bottom line then if i add this code to the admin page and click the same button i had before.. it will tell me the file that called out the admin page. Baslcaly I am looking for ideas on how to track the page i am now all the way back to the page with the button on it and all intermediate pages that it passes thru to get to the final destination. It seems that to succesfully troubleshoot a fault is to follow the path of the entire job and see if any breaks... Any thoughts or suggestions on how to best do this would greatly be appreciated.
This topic has been moved to Installation on Linux. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=319933.0 I have purchased a ad manager type script and have put so much work in to the site but i cannot get the cron file to execute properly due to errors. The makers of the script arent answering my emails so I am left to find the answer myself im hoping some experts can shine a light on this for me
I have the cron running once daily as required
the error messages are as follows:
/home2/net2you/public_html/2xx.co.uk/include/CronStats.php: line 1: ?php: No such file or directory /home2/net2you/public_html/2xx.co.uk/include/CronStats.php: line 2: syntax error near unexpected token `;' /home2/net2you/public_html/2xx.co.uk/include/CronStats.php: line 2: `ob_start();' I have installed the script on two different hosts and get the exact same errors. any help would be much appriciated the contents of the cron file are below ______________________________________________ <?php Hi guys, I did read allot of documentation on the internet about reading/writing/parsing an XML file. I ended up using the following code, because I really have large files (some about 200MB) and regular dom does not work: while ($xml->read()) { switch ($xml->nodeType) { case (XMLReader::ELEMENT): if ($xml->localName == "job") { $node = $xml->expand(); $dom = new DomDocument(); $n = $dom->importNode($node,true); $dom->appendChild($n); $job = simplexml_import_dom($n); The problem I have is a special character error in the xml file, error returned on this line: "$node = $xml->expand();" I am literally banging my head to the wall to find a simple solution to this. I already have a cleaning function, but that can be applied only after the code above. As the file is large, to clean it, I would have to use the same code above to work on partial content at once, so I would have the same special character problem when I would try to read and split the file. I bet I am not the first one to be in this situation, but after about 5 hours of searching on the internet, I cannot do it no more. And I am not a php expert to come up with a new idea. One other thing to do probably would be to split the file into multiple files, and read them after that, without using the XMLReader. But this would ask for a different application. If, for example, on a file where I have an error, I do the reading with simplexml, without using the XMLReader, I don't get the error. But I cannot use simplexml on the files, since file size is variable. I have to use a reliable method that works for all situations. Hopefully someone has an idea to this STUPID situation! Thanks. How do I display the actual errors in IIS 7.5? If I miss a semicolon, I get: "HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error" absolutely useless. In prior versions, I could see the line and get to the PHP error. How do I display PHP errors? I've added: set_ini('display_errors', '1'); but it doesn't help. Hi I need to include a exe program in a website. The only file of this program is the .exe file. It has a couple of textboxes, and when you insert values in these boxes and submit it gives an text output in the same window. Is there a way in php that I can take in values from an html form and insert it into this programs form? And then how can I read its output using php? Or is there another web-based language that I should rather use? Your help would be appretiated! C I need to execute a program in the command prompt in windows using php, which php functions would be best to do this? and would i need to set any type of permissions to be able to use them? I stumbled across this site after being slammed hard elsewhere for being a novice and really not knowing what I am doing. What I have read so far is more encouraging. I just wrote my first program in php and it is not working at all right now. All it keeps doing is opening window after window until I force the browser to close. I am using a Mac running Yosemite and using MAMP. Hopefully that is enough background.
I know this is an introduction area, so I will also post this in another forum in case this is closed for being off topic.

I am a beginner at programing and I have to do this project where it is asking me to valid ISBN 10 and 13 using MySQL database to store the information. I checked my php code to validate ISBN 10 and 13 and it works, but when I try to store the data to MySQL it is not working. What I mean is that when I click ShowISBN link it doesn't show this information:
ISBN Number
ISBN Type
Date Entered using timestamp
Valid or Invalid
This is the codes I have for input page of ISBN page:
<?php //this is the isset function which allows us to submit back //to the same form. If there isn't anything in the ISBN, it will //show the bottom part of the form if(isset($_POST["ISBN"])|| empty($_POST['isbn_type']) || empty($_POST['Valid_Invalid'])) { $ISBN = $_POST["ISBN"];; $IsbnType = $_POST["isbn_type"];; $VaorIn = $_POST["Valid_Invalid"];; $ISBN_Arr = str_split($ISBN); $not10 =0; $notNum=0; $notX=0; //entering error checking for the code //check for 10 first, if clear do additional checking if(strlen($ISBN) == 10) {//start further error checking //check to make sure first 9 are numeric for($i=0;$i<=8;$i++) { if(!is_numeric($ISBN_Arr[$i])) $notNum = 1; }//end for loop check //check to see if there is a X or a x if($ISBN_Arr[9]=='x' || $ISBN_Arr[9]=='X') { $ISBN_Arr[9] = 10; } //if not an x, is it at least numeric? else if (!is_numeric($ISBN_Arr[9]) ) { $notX=1; } }//end additional error checking else { $not10=1; }//end not 10 check //start of error messages if prereqs are not met if($notNum ==1 || $notX ==1 || $not10) { Print "<h2>Input error</h2><br/>"; Print "Here is the error(s) discovered:<br/>"; if($notNum ==1) print"Your ISBN contains non-numeric data.<br/>"; if($notX ==1) print"The last digit is not a number or a X.<br/>"; if($not10 ==1) print"ISBN 10 number should contain 10 characters.<br/>"; include"ISBN_not_val_include.html"; } //end error checking else{ $chk_sum_num=10; $chk_sum =0; for($i=0;$i<=9;$i++) { $chk_sum +=$ISBN_Arr[$i] *$chk_sum_num; //print"$ISBN_Arr[$i] | $chk_sum_num<br/>"; $chk_sum_num--; }//end for loop $is_valid_ISBN= $chk_sum%11; //print"chk_sum: $chk_sum </br> is_valid_ISBN: $is_valid_ISBN</br>"; if($is_valid_ISBN==0) { print"<h3>VALID</h3><br/>"; print"$ISBN is a VALID 10 digit ISBN number.<br/>"; include"ISBN_val_include.html"; } else{ print"<h3>INVALID</h3><br/>"; print"$ISBN is an INVALID 10 number ISBN.<br/>"; include"ISBN_not_val_include.html"; }//end is_valid if }//end }//end is set if else{ include"ISBN_val_include.html"; }//end isset else ?> </form> <p><a href="_ShowISBN10and13DBProject.php">Show ISBN </a></p> </body> </html>This is the second part of the code that incorporates php and MySQL: <?php if (empty($_POST['ISBN'])|| empty($_POST['isbn_type']) || empty($_POST['Valid_Invalid'])) echo "<p>You must enter a Valid ISBN 10 to Continue! Please send the Output as reply and please include the codes Edited June 14 by Given-kunEdit Hi Guys We have had a holiday program written in php in the past by an experienced developer but we are experiencing problems now. So I am curious to try and resolve the best approach Here goes 1: We query multiple APIs to return holiday results to our users 2: This can take up to 20 seconds to return results but sometimes its much quicker depending on the volume of API returned results 3: Other users seem to be locked out of even visiting our website if an API call is running So initially without posting any code, I have a couple of questions which are A: Is there a way to maybe poll a process or allow partial results to the users browser while things run in the background ( similar to what other holiday providers seem to be doing ) B: Is there a way to speed this up or maybe some sort of better technology to utilise
