PHP - Html Source For Editing
i am currently creating a school portal. there is this page which enables user to create their own website for Computer Education lesson. Every user are able to upload their files and view but the problem is, i need a function for the user to be able to edit it in on the page itself.

Can anyone help please? Hello Im quite confused at what filtering I should use on my data when pulling it from a MySQL database. I don't sanitize my data on input because I am using prepared statements with PHP's PDO Driver which means I don't need to use mysql_real_escape_string() at all. When I pull the data to be displayed i.e. in a HTML Table I use the below function to make it safe for HTML output. public static function htmlSafe($data) { return nl2br(htmlentities($data, ENT_QUOTES)); } However the rules change when Im using a HTML Form to edit the data, and I am unsure what I need to strip out. I.e. What would I need to do to make all data safe to insert into the following form input. <input id = "someInput" type = "text" value = "<?php echo $someVarThatNeedsFiltering ?>" /> Also, one more question, in my html attributes (Valid ones like class, name, id, style, _target) I use a mixture of double quotes(") and single quotes ('), for quoting my values. Hey guys, First post here, so feel free to flame me if im violating the rules somehow. So, the issue is this: i built an ebay listing creator for a customer. it conssists of a form with several fields being posted to a page that assembles everything into a listing (text, images, radio buttons etc.). now, what i want to do is to easily allow the customer to copy the compiled source code into the clipboard (or a txt file, doesnt really matters) - in order to easily copy it into ebay. I tried it with CURL, but all i get is the source without the posted information. I must be missing something there. Any help would be appreciated, if you need links or codes iv's used, ill provide. I've seen the fgetcsv function. I'm not sure what would be the best approach to load this into data into a table. Using a regex, then load into array or hash and then print this out? I'm assuming i would have to create print statements to produce the html tags. Also, with the sample records I provided. There will be instances where not all the attributes (1-7) have values. So, i'm envisioning empty cells for that record which is fine. I can also change the way the datafile is generated and remove the [number], so its just [attribute]=[value] if that makes it easier. So now i'm thinking how can i at least warn them that somebody else is already editing it. Eg the 1st line of the files reads isactive = true, how would I grab this so I can put it back to the file later as isactive = false? Not all the options are true/false, most are just strings or ints. Thanks One more question for the day. I'm trying to figure out the best way to run about this. Right now I have it set up so that two or more content pages CAN NOT have the same name or shortname as it performs checks to verify that there aren't both on my add new and edit pages. Now problem here is that say I'm on the edit form and I'm editing a content page with its dropdowns and what not in the form. Now I'm thinking what would be the next course of option because what if I only want to change one dropdown but still keep the same name and shortname. When I submit it, its going to kickback my response that it can't be saved because there's already a page in there with that name and shortname even though I didn't change it. Any suggestions? I need to open a template file change a text var and then save the file as something new. How can I do this? Hey, Currently i have a chat room which calls my database quite frequently... so im thinking i can lower the heavy load from my server by taking it off MYSQL methods and using PHP read/write/delete methods of a text file. I decided to make an app that helps the user install itself by checking certain files are writable if there is an installation directory etc etc. But i have come to the point where i want the user to change the username/passwords to access his/her database. i have them pre-defined like so: define('DB_USER','myUsername'); these are stored in includes/config.inc.php I know how to grab data from a user submitted form wither by post/get how would i go about changing these values depending on what the user inputs. So say i capture someones db username like so. $username = $_POST['db_username']; how would i change what ever is stored in the $username variable to replace whats in the define?
