PHP - Inconsistent $_session Variables
The variable is set so the user can see the inside pages of a members area after they have logged in. By the time they go to a different page the variable is gone.
Please note the following: - It doesn't happen to a specific browser - It doesn't happen all of the time - It works when I print the value of the $_SESSION variable - Once it has been printed to the screen once if I remove the functionality that makes it print, it keeps working. It's nearly impossible for me to test because I can't recreate the problem. It is my client that has the problem every once in a while. Please help!! When I load project_status.php, project_status_app.php is supposed to display the form. Once the user fills in the form the and the submit button has been pressed, the UPDATE statement is supposed to run and then it is supposed to navigate back to project_status.php?id=FA142. But the update is failing and the when the project_status.php is loaded back, the url looks like this http://localhost/fast/project_status.php?id= . The id is empty. It is supposed to be something like this http://localhost/fast/project_status.php?id=FA142. With the id being populated at the

Missing some information. Hello everyone, I am working on a form that is similar to a shopping cart system and I am thinking of creating a button that submits the checked value and saves them to a $_SESSION variable. And also a link that links to a cart.html that takes the values of a $_SESSION variable. I am have trouble figuring what tag/attribute should I use in order to achieve that.
Right now my code attached below submits the checked values to cart.html directly. However I want my submit button to save the checked box to a $_SESSION variable and STAY on the same page. And then I will implement a <a> to link to the cart.php.
I researched a little bit about this subject and I know it's somewhat related to ajax/jquery. I just wanted to know more about it from you guys. I appreciate your attention for reading the post and Thanks!

Greetings, all - Curious to know if someone wouldn't mind taking a look at this code and letting me know if there are any apparent errors that may cause this problem: I attempted sending the message to one of my two 1and1 email accounts and after some delay, it sent it to 1and1 account B but not 1and1 account A. My gmail account, however, gets them every time. I'd like to just say it's some issue with 1and1 but since it successfully got through to the one 1and1 account I'm not comfortable stopping at that. I should also mention that for some reason, as I'm trying it today, the successful 1and1 account will no longer receive the messages... I've tried it with directly copying the php mail code from 1and1's FAQ, though, and it seemed to work for the 1and1 account that was previously succcessful (acct B) but not acct A. Very stuck... I hope someone here can help me figure out why. Let me explain what I'm trying to do. I am working on a prototype that is supposed to display a simple three-column MySQL table in ascending order by one or the other of the three columns. Exactly the same data (rows and columns) is shown each time; only the sequence of the rows differs. To accomplish this, I show the user a form with three radio buttons in a single group. The user chooses the radio button that represents the column which is to be used in the sort, then presses Submit. That invokes a script that contains PHP. The script reads the value passed from the form, which is the name of one of the three columns of the table, Series, Character, or Actor. and stores it in a variable name $SortKey. Then, the variable is used in ORDER BY clause of the SQL Query to cause sorting on that column. This all works perfectly for the first and third columns, Series and Actor. But when script executes for the column named Character, the result is an empty table. There is no error message of any kind. I'm baffled by this. Obviously, my approach is correct otherwise the first and third columns would fail as well. But I can't see anything different about the second column. I'm very new to PHP but know HTML quite well and have substantial experience with Java and a little bit with Perl so I'm not new to programming by a long shot. Also, if there is an error message being produced when the query executes, how can I get it? I think I'm handing errors in the connection correctly but I'm not sure how to detect an error in the execution of the query. This might not be enough info for anyone to help with but I'm taking a chance because I'm at my wits end. I have this relatively simple form on a page called "createquiz.php" which has a select dropdown for every row in the table which triggers the form to submit when an option is chosen. It is then sent to "move.php" to manipulate the data. The gist is that users can go to row 4 (for example) and choose "2" from the drop down menu and it will go to move.php which will then update the id of row 4 to now be 2. Basically just reordering the rows in the table. The weird thing is that when the "option" chosen has a value LESS THAN the value of $info['answerid'] for the chosen row, the form submits fine to move.php (like my example above going from 4 to 2. However, if the "option" chosen has a value GREATER THAN the value of $info['answerid'] for the chosen row (like if the user tried to move row 4 to row 7), the form doesn't submit to move.php and instead the page refreshes with a super weird URL like this... "createquiz.php?move=3&submitthisform=submit&hidden=move&numanswers=3#". I have no code anywhere the tries to build a URL anything like that, so something is going very wrong. It looks like it's taking all of the "names" from my form code below and throwing them into a URL. With this minimal info, just curious if anyone has any idea what type of problem in code could lead to this weird type of URL? FYI, the code that gets the values for $_GET['quizid'] and $info['answerid'] is not shown, but I'm positive that is all working fine so I don't think it's important in regards to this issue, especially because when the problem happens, it's not even getting to the point where it tries to post to that URL. I just got through a server problem with a variable named $_SESSION['id'] What would happen was when I loaded a mysql request with id in it (usually what i name the main key in a table) it would overwrite the value in the $_SESSION without specifically asking it to ie $_SESSION['id']=$id; This was on an acenet server I have the same thing on a bluehost server and wampserver and never had a problem What I did on acenet was rename $_SESSION['id'] when declaring it to $_SESSION['usernumber'] and all my issues stopped Anyone know why? Is it a acenet problem? My problem is fixed im just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue????? Something like this: foreach ($_SESSION['cart']['content'][*]['Large'] as $content) { Info: When Customer clicks the "Add More Stuff" button on "/merchandise.php" to add more stuff, modify quantities, etc., the page submits to itself. Desired: I want a "FINISHED" button on the bottom of the page. When clicked on, Customer lands on a Thank You, "/FINISHED.php" page. Problem: The <form action="FINISHED.php"....> does not have access to the variables in the first form <form action="$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']">. Question: Using Sessions, javascript, or fancy PHP, is there a way the 2nd form can capture all the data from the first form, so when Customer clicks the FINISHED button, all the variables are sent to the FINISHED.php page?
Like: Reasons: There are too many PHP and Javascript variables created in the first form, many of which I don't understand, it would take me the rest of year 2019 to go line by line and rewrite all of the code. Requisite whining: Some code is beyond my skill level. For example, when the customer increases a quantity from "1" to "2" javascript will instantly change the displayed dollar-amount from $1.00 to $2.00 without actually "submitting/refreshing" the entire page. Though the displayed amount changes visually, the PHP $variable remains what it was until the page submits to itself. That means I cannot use $_SESSION to capture the newly-displayed amount until the page resubmits to itself. I've tried everything I can think of.... the closest solution I've found is the new HTML5 "formaction" tag, but I'm looking for a more universal solution (doesn't work in all browsers). Thank you!!
