PHP - Moved: Php With Windows 2008 Smtp Server Setting

this issue is not about core php hacking, but I guess this topic fits here best.

I want to make php mail() function send emails using remote smtp server.  I want to force this to all mail() users at my servers. However I use linux php so I cant specify remote smtp in php.ini cause php passes emails directly to sendmail/qmail ... (ps. I dont need script to use with remote smtp by socket connections, i want to make MAIL() do it so my users dont have to change anything at their source).

So what I need is

a) MTA like sendmail that actualy dont send mails to repicients, but it transfers it to remote mta-smtp (ps. I dont want relay, cause I dont want relaing to be visible in source of message)

or

b) some core hack-mod to make php mail() with php.ini work like on windows - not with sendmail/qmail but with socket connection to smtp.

Any ideas.. I guess not

I have a PHP web system that store in a windows server. In the system, there is a function for user to upload files to another server (Shared server in Unix).

When i try to upload a file, it gives warning:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(\\unixserver/sharedfolder/upload/test.txt) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in C:\wamp\www\upload\index.php on line 40

For your information, my username has been assigned in xxx's group that has access to read and write on that folder. Besides, i'm able to open,create and delete files on that folder's server manually (samba).

The safe mode setting is off.

Does anybody has any idea why this thing happen?

another issue for me i cannot find an answer for.  according to this thread: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/8803994/php-mail-not-working-for-some-reason, mail() doesn't work when smtp is not configured properly.  I checked my server files and I do not have a .ini file.  am I spose to have one by default?  and, according to this question in the godaddy community: https://www.godaddy.com/community/Using-WordPress/PHP-ini-how-to-make-changes-using-cPanel/td-p/119704, configuration of PHP in general should be done in the .user.ini file instead of in php.ini.  the following code, which is what I have now, results in no mail being sent to my address so either my code is wrong or my configs are not set properly I'm guessing:

also, in the stackoverflow article I mentioned above, one of the responders suggests using PHPMailer as a better way to send mail using PHP.  Is that true?  I've always used mail() in the past and I've never been let down in terms of a message *not* being sent.  PHP.net says the same thing as the response from stackoverflow as well.   thanks!

Hello i m newbie to PHP.  I am trying to host the website on my laptop but due to some configuration i cant send the emails through php script. I am trying send mail through mail() but not able to sent mail.

heres the code:

I read the previous post here. but  I am not able to figure out what to do about it.
Can anyone tell me what setting i do in my php.ini? or any other that necessary settings require for this.
i don't have SMTP server on my laptop so is there any method from which i can setup the SMTP server on laptop.?

I use apache HTTP 2.2 and PHP 5.3.4

Hi- I am new to php, trying to make a simple form that emails when submitted. It works fine on my own server, but when I try it on my work server I get: Warning: mail() [function.mail]:
SMTP server response: 550 Authentication is required for relay in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\OMC\estimate3.php on line 159

Have actually tried this mailer on localhost and it worked perfectly. Now am trying to use it on online but it's giving this error SMTP-> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Connection timed out (110) SMTP -> ERROR: Could not connect to SMTP host. I have a piece of code that works on one domain but not on another.  On the domain running php 5.1 all is ok.  On the domain running php 4.4 I get this error:

SMTP server response: 501 5.5.4 Invalid Address

Hosting service keeps telling me there must be an error in the code.  If that's the case why would it work on version 5.1?

I made a small php configuration that runs a cmd command that is designed to create a Scheduled Task on Windows.

keep in mind I also tried using, 'exec' and I also tried out this solution. I'm trying to create a temporary task and have it be destroyed much later. 

Do you need to compile your own version of PHP with SSH extensions in order to use SSH with PHP running on a Windows Server?

Before reading, just know I am NOT a PHP programmer and have no experience with PHP. I am just trying to install a premade php based website.   My questions is: How do I make .php pages connect to my database?   I know the question is very broad and probably doesn't really make sense but I've been having errors trying to install/configure a php website. The php website has a config which I have filled out correctly and seems to work on my PC via localhost using XAMPP fine but it doesn't work on my Windows Server 2012 Apache machine whenever the .php configuration tries to alter or conenct to the MySQL database it displays errors like this:   Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in C:\Apache24\htdocs\includes\classes.php on line 378   That's just an example of one predefined PHP website errors that I've received they are all very similar. What I think is happening is the PHP code is trying to connect to the database but there's some sort of configuration variable on Apache that I have not correctly filled out. I have tried this twice with two different CMS and searched google far and wide to find an answer to my problem. I hope the answer is something simple. If you need anything because you think you know what is happening then I will provide any information needed to fix this problem.   Thank you.

I set up functionality for a client that got moved to their server after I wrote and tested the functionality.  It does not work on their server and I am trying to trouble shoot the problem as I do not have ftp access to the server. I believe that I have narrowed it down to either I do not know how to access the temp files on their server, Windows IIS, OR the security on the server is not allowing me to upload to the temp files. ?>     This code generated the error message: Problem #2. One more bit of information: the permissions on the server is set so that nothing can be uploaded by an external script. I do not know much about servers, but it seems to me that because the security is so tight on the server, the security is the reason that this does not work...???   I appreciate help with this. I just am not knowledgeable on how the $_FILES['userfile']['tmp_name'] code actually works?
