PHP - Counting Values From Mysql

I wish to have a page that will display a form if there aren't already enough registrations in the database. The following it an outline of how it will be:

You'll see above there is (1), (2), (3). These are the main 3 that I've been trying, and they match up the $sqlCommand to the $numRegistrations.

What would be the problem with this code? I use wamp server to test, have been using it for ages. Chrome browser to test in.
If I remove the database query, the rest of the page will load.
With the query in there, only the HTML code up until the database query is parsed, so therefore nothing is display on the page.

}it puts $data[#'s] in the database fields instead of the actual data that '$data[0]','$data[1]'... relates to.

I wrote a script to create the values in $headdata_1 based on the number of headers in $csvheaders1 but can't seem to get it working in the sql statement.

I am trying to display a single value on my page and i cant seem to display it for the life of me. can someone tell me if im doing something wrong?
this is what i have so far:

obviously there is a field in the database that corresponds to turns and it is int(4),

..... Now, i am able to display $login_id, but when i try to display another field, named turns, it just displays a blank page.
Any pointers would be appreciated

I'm thinking this is simple, but just can't seem to figure it out. I use similar code for different tables that works fine, but for this table, it doesn't work so I'm thinking this is a MySQL issue.

Here's the code:

When I run the query to find all 3 values from within phpMyAdmin, no problem, all three are returned, but when I run the exact same query from php, I only get "painting" returned, and oddly, I get an array with two values in it, both of which are "painting".

I get duplicate vakues for $category_id = $categories['category_id'];

i'm a newb at this so bare with me but i currently have a php file called Newkpi.php which has a select statement in. this selects data from a table called "StaffList".
this then populates the page with a html table with 14 records (this will increase/decrease over time) i then have some extra text boxes to enter more detail into like service amaount service date and so on.
when i click the submit button i want it to cycle through each row and insert the data into a separate table called "Services". however i cannot for the life of me get this to work and need some help with it. people find attached the code for Newkpi and see if you can help me with this.

in total i want it to take the names from stafflist and populate Services with the names and the extra detail which is entered on the page

I am turning it into an array (comma separated)

I want to query the features for just the ids (F_name) are for the features . This query will show all.. I would like to just display the f_name values from the array query.

What gets put in for the values is my problem.  I have tried every way I can think of but I get errors in the code or I don't get the row inserted.

Can anyone give me a code sample using $ variables, preferably a multi-line list?  I would have to fix up my code to show you what I am trying as it is in between tries now.

I have to be doing something wrong and may have to put together a simple test script but a working example would be better.  Everything I look at on the web shows "xxxxx xxxx" examples not $variables.

I have managed to create an update script that allows a user to submit changes to their details but I need help to finish of the code. I'm using sessions to login in members, here is my update.php code.

After while($member = mysql_fetch_array($result)) {   I would like to retrieve the new values entered by them to be displayed back to the previous form which uses $_SESSION to hold their information when they previously login.

Any suggestions or ideas, as I think it's to do with clearing the session but unfamiliar on how to proceed.

Currently it just runs the image names together
