PHP - Foreach Loop To Parse All Records Of Simplexml Element Object
Iam trying to access amazon API and iam receiving XML perfectly but now I dont know how to traverse all records as in the below example Iam having 3 records but can't travers the xml using foreach Loop
Please help me out and tell me how to use foreach loop ?? Its urgent $search="9781439181799,9780393334296,9781605298627"; $result = $obj->getItemByUpc($search, "Books"); foreach($result->children() as $key ) { $data = $key->Items->Request->ItemLookupRequest->ItemId."<br/ >"; echo $data; } Moderator Edit: added [php] tags Similar TutorialsHi there, hope have some help. I have a form where a user select time and days of the week (monday, tuesday..) that he is available. The insert script works fine, it insert and the days of week he checked in the table, the only problme is when i try to update each of them.
I used this code above, but is not working, instead of updating/inserting days that is selected is inserting multi-records with the same day of the week value.
here it is:
foreach($weekDay as $DaysofWeek){ $sql_days = "UPDATE available SET day_time = '$day_time', week_day = '$DaysofWeek' WHERE user_id = '$id_user'"; $update_availability = mysql_query($sql_days); } I'm having a problem trying to understand how to grab the following values, <times> <time type="join">1293756060</time> <time type="leave">1293756420</time> </times> Ive read and tried everything I can find for a couple days now and cant get anything to grab both separate times foreach ($xml->times->time as $times){ $timein{$num} = $times; //this grabs leave time, by accident im sure lol $timeout{$num} = ???????; //dont know how to separate them by join/leave. } any help would be great. Hi, I have two problems with reading a XML file with SimpleXML and the foreach loop: Problem number one: If I have an item with only one "segment" child, I get the error "Fatal error: Call to a member function attributes() on a non-object in /var/www/readxml.php on line 28". My way of using a $segnum variable which I increment is maybe not necessary since it is a foreach loop... But what would be the right way? Problem number two: My code only sums up the size of the first two segments, but it should sum up all. What's the problem here? My xml file for testing looks like this: Code: [Select] <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" ?> <xml> <file poster="John Doe <john@example.com>" date="1301234567" subject="bla bla "filename1.zip" yEnc (1/5)"> <groups> <group>a.b.blabla</group> <group>a.b.dadada</group> </groups> <segments> <segment bytes="100000" number="1">3e5d7d4f336475502b643b466d@example.com</segment> <segment bytes="200000" number="2">272b5c2e3e447a66407b20633d@example.com</segment> <segment bytes="300000" number="3">3e2724613926406d692765446e@example.com</segment> <segment bytes="400000" number="4">213939595c6b51575c43665d48@example.com</segment> <segment bytes="50000" number="5">3366285f6a7b317945405c3b30@example.com</segment> </segments> </file> <file poster="John Doe <john@example.com>" date="1301234678" subject="bla bla "filename2.zip" yEnc (1/5)"> <groups> <group>a.b.blabla</group> <group>a.b.dadada</group> </groups> <segments> <segment bytes="300000" number="1">2c7778262263625f7a64343137@example.com</segment> <segment bytes="400000" number="2">78685e6e7b4339272b7042772c@example.com</segment> <segment bytes="500000" number="3">7a47472e25265a3b6e55214e75@example.com</segment> <segment bytes="600000" number="4">6c4e64784e70384c3e2a2a544e@example.com</segment> <segment bytes="50000" number="5">76695f59277724334035724a22@example.com</segment> </segments> </file> <file poster="John Doe <john@example.com>" date="1301234789" subject="bla bla "filename3.zip" yEnc (1/1)"> <groups> <group>a.b.blabla</group> <group>a.b.dadada</group> </groups> <segments> <segment bytes="200000" number="1">283d4f6f384f417b422f697163@example.com</segment> </segments> </file> </xml> My PHP code: Code: [Select] <?php // read the xml file $xml = simplexml_load_file('demo.xml'); // initialize helper variables $filenum = 0; // loop through all files foreach($xml as $files){ // get the posting date $timestamp = (int)$xml->file[$filenum]->attributes()->date; echo date("Y-m-d H:i:s", $timestamp); echo " - "; // get the filename $subject = $xml->file[$filenum]->attributes()->subject; preg_match("#.*\"(.*)\".*#iu", $subject, $matches); echo $matches[1]; echo " - "; // loop through all segments of file to get total size $segnum = 0; $totalbytes = 0; foreach($xml->file[$filenum] as $segments){ $totalbytes += $xml->file[$filenum]->segments->segment[$segnum]->attributes(); $segnum++; } // end segments echo $totalbytes; echo "<br />\n"; $filenum++; } // end files ?> Current output: Code: [Select] 2011-03-27 16:02:47 - filename1.zip - 300000 2011-03-27 16:04:38 - filename2.zip - 700000 2011-03-27 16:06:29 - filename3.zip - Fatal error: Call to a member function attributes() on a non-object in /var/www/readxml.php on line 28 Thank you very much for your help! I am new to PHP's SimpleXML. The original version of this question was derived from he OSM Data parsing to get the nodes with child I am thankful that hakre offered a great example in the comments that makes a overwhelming starting point for my project. Below I have added my own answer to the question, how to refine the code to ad more tags. I want to filter the data to get the nodes with special category. Here is sample of the OSM data I want to get the whole schools within an area. The first script runs well - but now I want to refine the search and add more tags. I want to store all into MySQL. So we need to make some XML parsing with PHP: The following is a little OSM Overpass API example with PHP SimpleXM <?php /** * OSM Overpass API with PHP SimpleXML / XPath * * PHP Version: 5.4 - Can be back-ported to 5.3 by using 5.3 Array-Syntax (not PHP 5.4's square brackets) */ // // 1.) Query an OSM Overpass API Endpoint // $query = 'node ["addr:postcode"~"RM12"] (51.5557914,0.2118915,51.5673083,0.2369398)->.point; ( node (around.point:100000) ["amenity"~"school"]; way (around.point:100000) ["amenity"~"school"]; ); out;'; $context = stream_context_create(['http' => [ 'method' => 'POST', 'header' => ['Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded'], 'content' => 'data=' . urlencode($query), ]]); # please do not stress this service, this example is for demonstration purposes only. $endpoint = 'http://overpass-api.de/api/interpreter'; libxml_set_streams_context($context); $start = microtime(true); $result = simplexml_load_file($endpoint); printf("Query returned %2\$d node(s) and took %1\$.5f seconds.\n\n", microtime(true) - $start, count($result->node)); // // 2.) Work with the XML Result // # get all school nodes with xpath $xpath = '//node[tag[@k = "amenity" and @v = "school"]]'; $schools = $result->xpath($xpath); printf("%d School(s) found:\n", count($schools)); foreach ($schools as $index => $school) { # Get the name of the school (if any), again with xpath list($name) = $school->xpath('tag[@k = "name"]/@v') + ['(unnamed)']; printf("#%02d: ID:%' -10s [%s,%s] %s\n", $index, $school['id'], $school['lat'], $school['lon'], $name); } ?> how to get more out of it.. at least the adress and the website where to add those tags in the request`? in this line: list($name) = $school->xpath('tag[@k = "name"]/@v') + ['(unnamed)']; many thanks for any and all help!! Hi, My script is pretty simple: Code: [Select] $xml = simplexml_load_file("http://lyrics.wikia.com/api.php?artist={$lyric_artist}&song={$lyric_song}&fmt=xml"); foreach( $xml as $element ) { print_r( $element ); } Of course those $strings are defined. So the output of that is: Code: [Select] SimpleXMLElement Object ( [0] => The Beatles ) SimpleXMLElement Object ( [0] => Let It Be ) SimpleXMLElement Object ( [0] => When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom Let it be And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words[...] ) SimpleXMLElement Object ( [0] => http://lyrics.wikia.com/The_Beatles:Let_It_Be ) SimpleXMLElement Object ( [0] => 0 ) SimpleXMLElement Object ( [0] => 20851 ) I want to echo JUST the lyric part: When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom Let it be And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words[...] But I'm clueless, with everything having the Object , I'm not sure how to grab the particular part that I want. Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction? So I'm getting a "Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in" error when I'm trying to pull data from a xml. I have a complete xml that has all of the potential node that it could ever have and it loads up fine -no errors, but when I load a different xml that doesn't have all of the possible nodes it returns this error several times here is a sample of my code: $source = 'TestFile.xml'; $xml = new SimpleXMLElement($source, null, true); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM tblvalues") or die(mysql_error()); //Return the table row by row while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $curblk = substr($row['fldelement'],0,3); switch ($row['fldelement']){ case "E06_04": case "E06_05": case "E06_07": case "E06_08": $cursub = $curblk."_04_0"; $xmlVal = $xml->Header->Record->$curblk->$cursub->$row['fldelement']; //grab value from xml break; ... ... ... // the cases go on for a while... ... case "E07_05": case "E07_06": case "E07_07": case "E07_08": $cursub = $curblk."_03_0"; $cursub2 = $curblk."_05_0"; $xmlVal = $xml->Header->Record->$curblk->$cursub->$cursub2->$row['fldelement']; //this is the line that the error points to break; ... ... ... And here is the sample of the xml that returns the error: Code: [Select] <E07> <E07_01>-20</E07_01> <E07_02>0</E07_02> <E07_15>-25</E07_15> <E07_16>-25</E07_16> <E07_17>-25</E07_17> <E07_18_0> <E07_18_01> <E07_18>-20</E07_18> <E07_19>-20</E07_19> <E07_20>-20</E07_20> </E07_18_01> .... .... .... The obvious problem (to me) is that my code is trying to return a value from a nonexistent xml node, for example: $xmlVal = $xml->Header->Record->$curblk->$cursub->$cursub2->$row['fldelement']; is looking for: $xmlVal = $xml->Header->Record->E07->E07_03_0->E07_05_0->E07_05 Ok, I get that, so how do I rewrite this so it's not blowing up on something so simple? Quick notes: -This same code works for a more complete xml -Rewriting the xmls is not an option as I have no control over those Edit: Almost forgot, thanks! hi there. i have a class that queries my db, creates an array objects representing a collection of the items returned. when i pass the array back to the caller and then try to loop through the array, it keeps displaying the same record - i think it's the last record that is displayed however, when i try the same code in the class, it prints out each unique record. i tried doing a reset(myarray); on the caller but that dind't work either. any suggestions? here's the code to loop through the array: if ( count( $myarray ) > 0 ) { //reset($lineItem_array); foreach ( $myarray as $lineitem ) { echo($lineitem->getName()."~"); echo($lineItem->getOId()."~"); echo($lineItem->getProduct()."~"); echo($lineItem->getPIP()."~"); echo($lineItem->getQuantity()."~"); } } } } Code: [Select] <?php $HitlistHeader = file_get_contents(url); $Hitlist = simplexml_load_string($HitlistHeader); foreach($Hitlist->xml->entry as $entry) { foreach($entry->target_user as $target) { $TargetID=$target->user_id; $TargetName=urldecode($target->mob_name); } foreach($entry->paid_user as $paiduser) { $PaidID=$paiduser->user_id; $PaidName=urldecode($paiduser->mob_name); } $Amount=$entry->amount; $TimeAgo=$entry->placed_time_ago; $Level=$entry->level; } for($cwb=1; $cwb!=count($entry); $cwb++) { echo $TargetID[$cwb]."\n"; echo $TargetName[$cwb]."\n"; echo $PaidID[$cwb]."\n"; echo $PaidName[$cwb]."\n"; echo $Amount[$cwb]."\n"; echo $TimeAgo[$cwb]."\n"; echo $Level[$cwb]."\n\n"; } sleep(100000); ?> it only echoes one character on only a few of the variables, I dont know what the problem could be.. Anyhelp to resolve this is appreciated Below is my output on the browser: Student: Kevin Smith (u0867587) Course: INFO101 - Bsc Information Communication Technology Course Mark 70 Grade Year: 3 Module: CHI2550 - Modern Database Applications Module Mark: 41 Mark Percentage: 68 Grade: B Session: AAB Session Mark: 72 Session Weight Contribution 20% Session: AAE Session Mark: 67 Session Weight Contribution 40% Module: CHI2513 - Systems Strategy Module Mark: 31 Mark Percentage: 62 Grade: B Session: AAD Session Mark: 61 Session Weight Contribution 50% Now where it says course mark above it says 70. This is incorrect as it should be 65 (The average between the module marks percentage should be 65 in the example above) but for some stange reason I can get the answer 65. I have a variable called $courseMark and that does the calculation. Now if the $courseMark is echo outside the where loop, then it will equal 65 but if it is put in while loop where I want the variable to be displayed, then it adds up to 70. Why does it do this. Below is the code: Code: [Select] $sessionMark = 0; $sessionWeight = 0; $courseMark = 0; $output = ""; $studentId = false; $courseId = false; $moduleId = false; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $sessionMark += round($row['Mark'] / 100 * $row['SessionWeight']); $sessionWeight += ($row['SessionWeight']); $courseMark = ($sessionMark / $sessionWeight * 100); if($studentId != $row['StudentUsername']) { //Student has changed $studentId = $row['StudentUsername']; $output .= "<p><strong>Student:</strong> {$row['StudentForename']} {$row['StudentSurname']} ({$row['StudentUsername']})\n"; } if($courseId != $row['CourseId']) { //Course has changed $courseId = $row['CourseId']; $output .= "<br><strong>Course:</strong> {$row['CourseId']} - {$row['CourseName']} <strong>Course Mark</strong>" round($courseMark) "<strong>Grade</strong> <br><strong>Year:</strong> {$row['Year']}</p>\n"; } if($moduleId != $row['ModuleId']) { //Module has changed if(isset($sessionsAry)) //Don't run function for first record { //Get output for last module and sessions $output .= outputModule($moduleId, $moduleName, $sessionsAry); } //Reset sessions data array and Set values for new module $sessionsAry = array(); $moduleId = $row['ModuleId']; $moduleName = $row['ModuleName']; } //Add session data to array for current module $sessionsAry[] = array('SessionId'=>$row['SessionId'], 'Mark'=>$row['Mark'], 'SessionWeight'=>$row['SessionWeight']); } //Get output for last module $output .= outputModule($moduleId, $moduleName, $sessionsAry); //Display the output echo $output; I think the problem is that it is outputting the answer of the calculation only for the first session mark. How in the while loop can I do it so it doesn't display it for the first mark only but for all the session marks so that it ends up showing the correct answer 65 and not 72? Hi, I was thinking of creating a table for this current code and place only 3 options in a row, however I do not know how to execute a command which will allow me to do so, I have attached 2 pictures to describe what I will like to achieve. Below is my code as well. Any advice? Thanks $query = ("SELECT * FROM tutor_preferred_district ORDER BY district_id ASC"); $sql = mysqli_query($dbc, $query) or die(mysql_error()); while($data = mysqli_fetch_array($sql)) { echo'<table>'; echo '<input name="district" type="checkbox" id="'.$data['district_id'].'" value="'.$data['district_id'].'">'; echo '<label for="'.$data['district_id'].'">'.$data['district_name'].'</label>'; echo'<table>'; } Have a web page that displays a number of update forms depending on the amout of records that get returned from a mysql query, if query returns 4 records then the page will display 4 identical forms, the trouble i'm having is getting the each of the 4 forms to display a different record as at the moment they all show just first record of query. I have played around with loops but not getting anywhere which may be due to my limited knowledge code for page is below Code: [Select] <?php $numberofrow =mysql_num_rows($Recordset1); for($counter = 1;$counter<=$numberofrow;$counter++){ ?> <label for="hometeam2"></label> <form id="form1" name="form1" method="POST" action="<?php echo $editFormAction; ?>"> <label for="hometeam"></label> <input name="fixid" type="text" id="fixid" value="<?php echo $row_Recordset1['FixtureID']; ?>" /> <input name="hometeam" type="text" id="hometeam2" value="<?php echo $row_Recordset1['hometeamname']; ?>" /> <label for="homescore"></label> <input name="homescore" type="text" id="homescore" value="<?php echo $row_Recordset1['homescore']; ?>" /> <label for="awayscore"></label> <label for="fixid"></label> <input name="awayscore" type="text" id="awayscore" value="<?php echo $row_Recordset1['awayscore']; ?>" /> <label for="awayteam"></label> <input name="awayteam" type="text" id="awayteam" value="<?php echo $row_Recordset1['awayteamname']; ?>" /> <input type="submit" name="update" id="update" value="Submit" /> <input type="hidden" name="MM_update" value="form1" /> how would i display image without using foreach in this case ? <?php foreach($images as $image): ?> <div class="thumb"> <img src="<?php echo $image['url']; ?>">" /> <img src="<?php echo $image['thumb_url']; ?>" /> <?php endforeach; ?> can anybody tell me what's wrong with my query ? $filesa = "SELECT id, uid, size, filehash, filename, dwnloads, swidth, sheight, fores, flabel, vpre FROM pf_fmusic WHERE (aid='$albumid' AND vpre='complete') ORDER BY id DESC"; I am using this in while loop with ps_pagination class but getting 2 records for same set of files. in other words its running while loop 2 time complete code is here... $filesa = "SELECT id, uid, size, filehash, filename, dwnloads, swidth, sheight, fores, flabel FROM ibwf_fmusic WHERE (aid='$albumid' AND vpre='complete') ORDER BY id DESC"; $pager = new PS_Pagination($conn, $filesa, 9, 5, $albumid, $sortid, $sub, $selectalbum3[uid], $title, $collective); $results = $pager->paginate(); while($files=mysql_fetch_array($results)) { // Blah Blah } Output is something like this 1. song 1 2. song 2 3. song 3 4. song 4 1. song 1 2. song 2 3. song 3 4. song 4 Thanks is advance I call a web service and it retuens the values in the following format
$response = $client->submitRequest($requestParams);Which returns stdClass Object ( [return] => stdClass Object ( [result_code] => 0 [result_data] => City[0]=Chicago [message_text] => ) )what I want is just the value for [result_data] => City[0]=Chicagoassigned to a variable Psedo Code $city = [result_data] => City[0]=Chicago;so that $city = Chicago; Hey guys, Got another question im hoping someone can help me with. I have a foreach loop (for use in a mysql query): foreach ($interests as $interest) { $query .= "($id, $interest), "; } problem is i do not want the comma(,) in the last loop. Is there some kinda of function i can use so it does not insert it on last loop? Or should i just use a for loop with a nested if loop? something like ; for($i=0; $i < count($interests); $i++){ $query .= "($id, '$interests[$i]')"; if($i + 1 < count($interests)) { $query .= ", "; } } Cheers guys Does anybody know how to make the following code correct? real sorry but its just absolutely blowing my mind im awful with loops and have pretty much no clue what the hell im doing in honesty, any help would be great, Thanks Code: [Select] $addIDs_ary = array_map('intval', $_POST['chkInv']); $addIDs_ary = array_filter($addIDs_ary); $value = $addIDs_ary; //Check if hit_id is already in hitlist $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM hitlist WHERE player_id = '$playerID'"); $result = mysql_query($query); while ($result = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) foreach ($result as $hit_id => $value){ if($result[$hit_id] == $value); $str = ""; } } else how do I echo "blah" after the first loop in a foreach loop and the in the rest of them echo "crazy"? what im trying to do is echo all of the results from the database query but add bold to results with a pid of 0. here is my code: $list = ''; $query = $link->query("SELECT * FROM ".TBL_PREFIX."forums ORDER BY f_lid ASC"); $result = $query->fetchAll(); foreach($result as $key => $val) { if($result[$key]['f_pid'] == 0) { $list .= '<b>'.$result[$key]['f_name'].'</b><br />'; } $list .= $result[$key]['f_name'].'<br />'; } echo $list; this works fine but the ones with a pid of 0 are displayed twice. once as bold and then once normal like so: General General New Features Testing Testing Sandbox Bugs my question is how to prevent this. Hey guys, need help on some addition. foreach($login as $line_num => $line) { $login = explode(" ", htmlspecialchars(str_replace(" "," ",$line))); if(stristr($login[1], "\n")) $login[1] = substr($login[1], 0, strlen($login[1])-2); $account_data[$line_num] = array($login[0], $login[1]); $UserID = $login[0]; $AuthKey = $login[1]; $MobLink = "http://mobsters-fb-apache-dynamic-lb.playdom.com/mob_fb/"; $RefreshStat = file_get_contents($MobLink."refresh_stat_manual?user_id=".$UserID."&auth_key=".$AuthKey); $Cash = explode ("<cash>", $RefreshStat); $Cash = explode ("<", $Cash[1]); $Cash = $Cash[0]; $CashForEcho = "$".number_format($Cash[0]); echo $CashForEcho."<br/>"; echo "<br/><br/>"; } The variable $Cash will be dynamic for each user I put in the $login_file, and I need to add all of those values up. So say I put in 3 users within the $login_file, and the $Cash for user 1 was $3,000, the $cash for user 2 was $6,000 and the $cash for user 3 was $1,000, I want to be able to automatically add them all up, so it would echo '$10,000' at the end. Hope I've explained it for you guys to understand easily enough, if not let me know. Thanks For some reason I'm getting an invalid argument supplied for foreach error and I'm not sure why.
