PHP - Moved: Opening A Popup Window Making The Background Grey Color

I'm wondering what makes a pop-up login window run differently than inside a webpage.

I can't seem to get my login system to bring the user back to the page (brings them to a page can't be found) when clicking a form submit button when it is included in the webpage.

But if your in the popup page that I'm trying to include, it works no problem so I was wondering if it changes anything. Or if there is some sort of work around (such as embedding a popup window into the webpage).

I have a page that will sort my DB table by name and telephone number.  And it has a button.  I want visitors to be able to input a last name, and have the telephone number provided in a SEPERATE and NEW window after they click the button.

Any suggestions for best procedure?

My two initial concepts a
1- Make this a form, with the "action" leading to a file like
SELECT *FROM myTable WHERE last name="$inputname"
 and have then use Javascript ONSUBMIT to open a NEW window.
(not sure it will succeed as I desire)

2- Make this a simple BUTTON with Javascript pointing everything to the file to process the quiery.

PS: I've heard IE doesn't always handle "_BLANK" properly, and I'm unaware of a PHP method.

Haven't thought it through entirely, so I'm looking for pointers and advise.

 

Hi everyone   As a new member I am impressed with the response and how helpful folk are, thanks in advance  . I am trying to figure out if I can open a html modal window as soon as a link is clicked.   e.g.   web url link (click this modal window opens in the centre of screen with the results of the query) I don't want to show any info in the toolbar just results of the query ? can this be possible, an example would be handy to see the mechanics of it, are there any browser issues with this ?   thanks again ...singhy

Trying to get popup window to work in php.  Keep getting template parse errors.  Here's the code I've been using in HTML:

Hey guys I have a few pages where im echoing in one row at a time. Like for a email system. I want to color in every other row with CSS.
since im echoing in one row at a time i cant place a class on every other row saying which one is even or odd. wondering what are some ideas on how to do this.

One idea i had was maybe assign a number to each row then maybe a php math function to find if a number is odd or even? like to know if there is a correct or standard way to do this.
typed a small little example below

I need help with my webpage here, how do you get so if you are at http://www.blabla.com/account.php and then click on a photo, it will go to www.blabla.com/photo.php?id=1 but still be at account.php? Just like facebook shows their photos. I dont know how to think nor to get it work. Would appreciate some help!

I have a login modal window which is user for entering the login and password, and check it with the database.If the login and password is not there i nthe database the message shuld be displayed in the popup window itself.
But  in my case the popup window disapperas if the login details are wrong.
how shuld i code for this.

On a website, there are products nicely listed with name, description, product code, price and a thumbnail etc.

Now, if you click on a picture thumbnail, a new page called prodwin.php in a new window opens with the product code and for some reason, there is a "no picture available" alt image for every product. The line of code in it:

Scenario.

I have a simple form and on the same page a link to open a popup window.
The client completes the form then click the upload link.
In the popup window the client uploads a file.

Problem
On closing the popup window the main page is refreshed (to indicate the upload was successful)
As the form was not initially submitted - All Form Data is then Lost

Question
Is there a way of submitting the form and opening a popup window at the same time (to preserve the data entered by the client) or is there another fix for this problem ?

Hello,   I have a song streaming website, and i want to set a cookie inside a player popup to avoid that users increment the number of times that an album was played every time they access it. I want the cookie to last at least 6h, but every time i test the code with 1,2 or 5 minutes it never ends in the time that i specify. For example i want it to last 3min and it may take 5 or 2min to end. Cant figure out why, because i used the same cookie code in a none popup window and it worked.

Can someone help me out with making a bat file. I cant find a good set of directions on google.

I have window scheduler all working in running but it runs my script in note pad and not IE like I need it too.

I also read something about php cgi file for doing this same thing but cant make heads of tails out of it from reading about it in the manual.

I have a Php application that already has 2 buttons with input on the index page that perform some functions and output to different Php pages. Works good. How do I add a button with no input that would just perform a function and then just display a popup window showing the contents of a text file? I want to add several of these buttons for different functions and just display the contents of the resulting text files in popup windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
