PHP - Check Whether A Word Has More Than 5 Characters
<?php
$title = "This is an example of a sentence in a paragraph"; $title_array = explode(" ", $title); // splits the string by string $chr_count = array(); foreach($title_array AS $word){ $chr_count[] = strlen($word); } echo $chr_count[0]; $count = count($title_array); for($i=0; $i<$count; $i++) { ??????? } ?> i want to store the count for every word in the $title, in a variable, but i get an error. Actually i need the count of every word so that i can store every word which has greater than 5 characters in an array variable! Then i would use this variable to compare words in another paragraph to check whether sentences in the other paragraph contain these words. If they contain these words then i would add the sentence to a variable $summary which would make the summary of the original paragraph. Any ideas please? Similar TutorialsHow could I split a string in half but not in the middle of a word? $information = "This is the string of text, however at some point in the sentence a word may get split in half."; $cut = round(strlen($information)/2); ///where to cut (50%) $split1 = substr($information, 0, $cut); //first half $split2 = substr($information, $cut); // second half I was wondering if it is possible to check the content for a variable for a certain work. For example say a variable called "$variable1" was equal to "one, two, three, four, five". How can I check to see if the variable contain the word "four"? Thanks for any help. I have a code which I made just up Code: [Select] <?php if ($product->title == '01'); print "Earring"; ?> <?php if ($product->title == '02'); print "Necklace"; ?> <?php if ($product->title == '03'); print "Necklace"; ?> <?php if ($product->title == '04'); print "Ring"; ?>I just want to check the product titles first 2 characters and print according to that. Example: If $product->title is "01DSE32" print Earring. This checking must be strgn or something like that which I don't remember. I would appreciate some feedback. I have a text firld to enter amount af a book,But i need to check whether the data entering is numeric only eg:70.98 etc. how can i achieve this. my code is echo"<table><tr><td></td><td>Amount in USD</td><td></td><td><input type='text' name='amnt' id='amnt' /> </td><td></td></tr></table>"; I want to allow Alphabetical strings, Numeric strings, and Alphanumeric strings. For example "Bob", "1234", "bob1234" are all valid. I want to check if the string has invalid characters, return true if it does (or false, which ever method works). How can I do it? The only thing I can get to post is 'lol'. Trying funny phrases like: first! or Great information, thanks, this is a test of the comment section, etc....they all get flagged Can anyone with fresh eyes assist? Im weary and frustrated and its been forever since I wrapped my head around this. Code: [Select] $MyRange3->Hyperlinks->Add($MyRange3, 'http://www.google.com', '','',' hyperlink text to display'); The output will be produced but overwriting everything in $MyRange3 and displays only the hyperlink. Thanks in advance Oh also I don't care if that page get's indexed by google or yahoo or not actually prefer it don't get indexed to be honest Hey, I have a word filter which is dectecting strings that are only embedded in words. Which i don't want it to do. For example: If i want to filter "FR" and some one puts france - it flags it because france contains FR. How do i make it only look for "FR" on its own seperated from a word instead of it flagging nearly all words with the two letters together? Heres my filter: $text = 'testing'; //this should not return 1 // fill this array with the bad words you want to filter and their replacements $bads = array ("test"); foreach($bads as $key => $search_needle) { if(stristr($text, $search_needle) == TRUE) { return(1); break; } } I have a table in my php Mysql which contains some values.. Is it possible to get those values then export them to MS word with formatting? and make it like a table? Help pls. Hello Guys, I need some help here.. I want to implement a Bad word filter and not quite sure how to do it.. I am grabbing the following vars from the text fields $ad_title = filter_var($_POST['ad_title'], FILTER_SANITIZE_STRING,FILTER_FLAG_NO_ENCODE_QUOTES); $ad_body = filter_var($_POST['description'], FILTER_SANITIZE_STRING,FILTER_FLAG_NO_ENCODE_QUOTES); Then its inserted into the db. I would like to run it through this function first.. Code: [Select] FUNCTION BadWordFilter(&$text, $replace){ // fill this array with the bad words you want to filter and their replacements $bads = ARRAY ( ARRAY("butt","b***"), ARRAY("poop","p***"), ARRAY("crap","c***") ); IF($replace==1) { //we are replacing $remember = $text; FOR($i=0;$i<sizeof($bads);$i++) { //go through each bad word $text = EREGI_REPLACE($bads[$i][0],$bads[$i][1],$text); //replace it } IF($remember!=$text) RETURN 1; //if there are any changes, return 1 } ELSE { //we are just checking FOR($i=0;$i<sizeof($bads);$i++) { //go through each bad word IF(EREGI($bads[$i][0],$text)) RETURN 1; //if we find any, return 1 } } } // this will replace all bad words with their replacements. $any is 1 if it found any $any = BadWordFilter($wordsToFilter,1); I really would also like to query a table for any words that match and then use a replacement like [censored] Any help would be greatly appreciated!
