PHP - Constannt "unknown Modifier" Error Even Though I Fixed It Multiple Times?
Similar TutorialsHi everyone, I have the task of building a PHP page where users can enter or remove as many records as they like into different categories. This then makes the number of records entered unknown, and therefore it becomes more complicated. To make this clearer, I have attached an image of what I am trying to do. Two questions: - Before submitting the form, how can each record entry be matched with the correct category? (maybe hidden form fields somehow?) - What is the best way of inserting each record (and it's associated category) into a MySQL database table from a single form submit? I want to try and keep this as simple as possible as the data will later be updated, removed etc. I'm experiencing a brain fart and just cannot picture the best way of going about this Any help and advice is much appreciated! Thanks in advance. Code: [Select] Basic table schema example... CATEGORY TABLE ---------------------------- | catid | category | ---------------------------- | 1 | Category A | | 2 | Category B | etc. etc. ---------------------------- DATA ENTRY TABLE ---------------------------- dataid | catid | data | -------------------------------- | 1 | 2 | data xyz | | 2 | 1 | data zyx | etc. etc etc. -------------------------------- cant work out this mysql syntax error "operation":"medupdate","medid":"","name":"ibo","medyear":"5","medmonth":"21","medday":"1","recuser":1,"SuccFail":"fail","SuccFailMessage":"error occured You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '''WHERE med_id=' at line 2","ResultData":""} Code: [Select] $sql="update metodology set med_description='".$req['name']."', med_year='".$req['medyear']."', med_month='".$req['medmonth']."', med_day='".$req['medday']."', med_recorddate= now(), med_recorduserid= 1'"; $sql.= " WHERE med_id=".$req['medid']; I have this function I use to simplify things. function search_string( $needle, $haystack ) { if ( preg_match_all( "/$needle/im", $haystack ) || strpos( $haystack, $needle ) ) { return TRUE; } return FALSE; } I keep getting this error in my PHP logs, and it comes in a sequence: [07-Nov-2020 05:34:14 America/Los_Angeles] PHP Warning: preg_match_all(): Unknown modifier 'G' in /home/baser-b/public_html/include/functions.php on line 791 [07-Nov-2020 05:34:14 America/Los_Angeles] PHP Warning: preg_match_all(): Unknown modifier 'g' in /home/baser-b/public_html/include/functions.php on line 791 Meaning, it will come with one with the small g, then three with the big G, then one with the small g, then five with the big G, and so on.... My question is, how can I stop getting this error. It won't show me the functions being called to arrive at this answer, as this is likely an error generated by another function calling this one. I was wondering if anyone knew what to change in the search_string function to stop getting this error, why this error is happening, or why the strange repetitive sequence. Is it someone trying to do a hack? The only variable that would be changeable by a visitor would be the $needle variable, so what could they type that has something to do with 'g' to get this? Anyway, thanks. Can someone please help me with an array problem i can not figure out. I need the array to be numbered from 1 to how ever many fields that are needed in the form and have a mysql field name and the title of the field also in the array. 1, "mysql_field_name", "Title of form field" 2, "", "" and so on then the form will be shown based on the array. I have the following draft code which I am working with. any suggestions on how i may do this array ? Code: [Select] <?php $options = array( '1'=> array('fieldtext'=>'option1', 'mysqlfield'=>'option1'), '2'=> array('fieldtext'=>'option2', 'mysqlfield'=>'option2'), '3'=> array('fieldtext'=>'option3', 'mysqlfield'=>'option3'), '4'=> array('fieldtext'=>'option4', 'mysqlfield'=>'option4'), ); // $options = array(1 => "option1", "option2", "option3", "option4"); // the line above works but i want to include the name of the mysql field as well. $userid = 1; ?>

<?php if ($_POST['Update'] != "Update") { // check if form submitted yet, if not get data from mysql. $res = db_query("SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE `userid` = '" . $userid . Did you mean to use "continue 2"? Just started. I am pretty sure composer.json wasn't changed. journalctl doesn't show anything. Maybe Doctrine related, however, nothing seems to help.

Hi, bit stuck on how to find and replace "<" and ">" with "<" and ">". I basically have a database record that outputs to screen and I need the code in the
tags to be rendered to the screen. I therefore need it to go through the whole array variable from the db and change the symbols just inside the code tags. Please be aware that the code tags might happen more than once here's an example below Code: [Select]
blah blah blah

blah blah blah

blah blah blah

hello

blah blah blah

blah blah blah

blah blah blah

hello

the desired output would be:
blah blah blah

blah blah blah

blah blah blah

hello</h1

blah blah blah

blah blah blah

blah blah blah

hello</h1
help on this would be great Cheers Rob Hi guys I am a newbie with PHP and I have been trying to solve this problem for 3 days.. Hi there, I am NOT a PHP coder, but I have a site that is written in PHP and I am getting an error that keeps filling up my site cache and I just cannot figure it out - I know it has something to do with my images on the site, but none of them are out of the ordinary (GIFs and JPEGs, the only character apart from letters or numbers that i have used is the "_" and there are no spaces). I have looked around at the error I am getting - but I will be honest in that I dont really understand what the problem is or how to resolve it. Here is the error I get: PHP Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier 'C' in /home/smcclean/public_html/includes/modules/additional_images.php on line 48 This relates to the following line of code: if(preg_match("/" . $products_image_base . "/i", $file) == 1) { I would really appreciate a steer as to how I could resolve this. Many thanks Hi guys I'm struggling a bit, I need to replace a word that occurs multiple times in text with an array("up","down","forward","backwards") of words. $find = "left"; $replace = array("up","down","forward","backwards"); $text = "left left left left"; echo str_replace($find,$replace,$text); The Output is: array array array array Did try this with a foreach statement as well, but no luck. Is there a better way of doing this? Thanks

What I am looking to do is create one page that also lists ALL the products. Right now, in the category specific page it has this is in the code: Code: [Select] $data = get_portfolio_industry('Building Products'); $offset = $_GET['offset']; if($offset == ''){ $offset = 0; } function get_industries($rec_id){ $sql = "SELECT * FROM `".TBL_PORTFOLIO_INDUSTRY."` WHERE `portfolio_id` = '$rec_id'"; $data = SelectMultiRecords($sql); return $data; } And this is the from the functions file: function get_portfolio_industry($industry){ Code: [Select] $sql = "SELECT * FROM `".TBL_PORTFOLIO."` WHERE id IN (SELECT `portfolio_id` FROM `".TBL_PORTFOLIO_INDUSTRY."` WHERE `industry` = '$industry') ORDER BY `id`"; $data=SelectMultiRecords($sql); return $data; } My hope was I would simple combine the products like this: Code: [Select] $data = get_portfolio_industry('Building Products,Building Services,General Products'); ...but unfortunately it doesn't combine them. Hello all, I'm an amateur at PHP coding, and am currently enrolled in a PHP and MySQL class that uses the PHP Programming with MySQL textbook, by Don Gosselin. I'm trying to get this simple Shopping Cart script to work, because it's the step-by-step example script for Chapter 11, but I keep getting the following errors on ShowCart.php when I try to add an item to the cart. Quote Warning: mysqli_query() [function.mysqli-query]: Couldn't fetch mysqli in C:\xampplite\htdocs\ShoppingCart.php on line 78 Warning: mysqli_errno() [function.mysqli-errno]: Couldn't fetch mysqli in C:\xampplite\htdocs\ShoppingCart.php on line 80 Warning: mysqli_error() [function.mysqli-error]: Couldn't fetch mysqli in C:\xampplite\htdocs\ShoppingCart.php on line 81 Line 78: $QueryResult = mysqli_query($this->DBConnect, $SQLstring) Line 80 and 81: . "
Error code " . mysqli_errno($this->DBConnect) . ": " . mysqli_error($this->DBConnect)) . "
"; I've read "Couldn't fetch mysqli" errors are because the connection was closed prior to those lines, but I don't see any indication of a connection closure. I have no idea what to do, as all the code was given to me in the book, I merely copied it down.
