PHP - Input Text And Choose Font Family, Size And Color, Heeeelllpppp!!!
Hello Everyone,
I am a noob at PHP so please forgive me if my code is wrong. I have a strong understanding of HTML and CSS just for the curious. Question: Write a program that formats a block of text (to be input by the user) based on preferences chosen by the user. Give your user options for color of text, font choice and size. Display output on a new page. I would greatly appreciate someone's help. The text is showing up but not according to the options selected. I know there is something wrong with the output page. I'm using the GD library to create images of the text. I'm not happy with the quality of the fonts at small sizes. I've tried everything to fix it but nothing is working. One suggestion I had was to create the fonts larger then reduce the size of the image. Can anyone offer any advise how I might do this? I need to draw various font sizes onto a canvas to create a web service. Wanting to protect my HD assets, the intent is to use PHP to populate the image with the necessary text, and then scale down the image before presenting it to the user.

You can see how despite the font size steadily increasing by 0.1, it sporadically jumps at what seem at first like random intervals, however if you increase the number of loops and log the data, you can see that it alternates between increasing every 0.7, and 0.8. Unfortunately that doesn't help me any, just some insight.

This outputs the current width and font size each time the text width changes. Unless buffer overflows or breaking out of code to perform a new command are problems that have been solved.... I am trying to figure out the proper PHP method for setting a boundary on a variable within a script. I have this variable $name which is fed a value from $_POST['name'] from a form field. Now this form field is limited in the HTML to accept only 20 characters, but someone could easily edit the form or outgoing post data. So I want to know how to limit the variable size in the script. In other languages it could be something like this: var name(20). So how do I do that in PHP? I'm new to PHP So sorry if this is a nooby question, But i have 3 php pages, one asks for username, pass, database and host, and then posts it on the next php page. The next PHP Page asks if all the information is correct, with hidden inputs, and the values as the PHP settings, but wrapped in <?php ?> Example: <input type="hidden" name="user" value=<?php $user; ?> /> Will the above set the value of user to the PHP Value of $user? In a simple text field in a form.... the browser automatically offers a list, when either when you click in or start typing in the field, of previous entries. My question is: Does anyone know how to control this? Is it possible to give a list of values to the browser, sort of like a ajax search, but all sent before. For example; in one field the user must enter a name, i want the text box to offer name possibilities even before the user has entered any on the form previously... sort of combining the <text> with a <select> menu... with all the name possibilities coming from a mysql table Help guys!!! Above scripts works well when I run it...It will display my OS version But the problem it is, I want to create an input field so user can key in any IP address and the scripts above will display the OS info/name if valid else invalid... Above scripts use.. $user_agent = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; that automatically display OS info/name... But I want manually key in the IP from input field and the scripts above will display correspond OS info/name from the input field... how to change scripts above...especially $user_agent = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; so it can return IP address from input field??
