PHP - Php Created .png Shown Using String Not Using Temp File
Hello,
We've been working on a page that allows users to create their own avatar to be displayed on their page. I create two copies, a regular size and a thumbnail size. Then I transfer the converted files through FTP to my storage server. The regular size works great, but the thumbnail transfers as a blank file. I'm sure it has to do with me working with a temporary file. tmpfile() claims to remove the file after it's closed, so maybe by using the Save feature in SimpleImage, it's closing the file and then the server automatically removes the temporary file? SimpleImage has a feature where I can write the image output [possibly to a file] using $simImage->output() for the data. If that helps with a solution? I don't know. I know it might be complicated, but any help is appreciated! I need to reach Win server, scan shared folder and find out what is last created file name on this folder, and than copy this file to local folder. BUT main problem is smb, never used it before, and this is what i came up with, but no luck.

I am using apache web server on linux. I am using php for coding. My php code is not able to read the files from /var/tmp folder. If apache itself creates some files in /var/tmp folder then php code is able to read it. Why this permission denied issues are there though full access permissions are given to each file?
I am very new to PHP and haven't wriiten an update program except in the class I took about 4 years ago using MYSQL.
The company I work for is using PDO so I am having a little bit of a learning curve.
I have a table with a checkbox at the end and I want to insert the records from the table into a new file I created called
OPPSHEDT
SHEDORD Order Number 14 Char
SHEDBORD BackOrder Number 2 Char
SHEDPKD Picked Cases 9,0 Decimal
SHEDSHP Shipped Cases 9,0 Decimal
I'm just not sure how to write the update program to read the array of records and run through the loop and insert the items checked. I saw some other examples on here and all over the internet but they were using mysql. I have a copy of the code to create my table below.

My issue is that I can't think of a way to edit a XML file using PHP's XML functionality and then assign the edited contents to a string instead of saving the file. Because my issue is that I have to edit the XML file based upon a string brought from a remote location then give it back to that remote location using a string again, to be exact I am doing it via Linux command line utilizing SSH2. I'm trying to figure out how to create a temporary table of a query join, so I can paginate the results. It does not work on their server and I am trying to trouble shoot the problem as I do not have ftp access to the server.
I believe that I have narrowed it down to either I do not know how to access the temp files on their server, Windows IIS, OR the security on the server is not allowing me to upload to the temp files.

Okay, so I'm kind of a PHP noob.
But out of context, for this site that I'm designing, it's easiest if I make a directory in the temporary folder PHP uses. In my case, /tmp/ because I am on Linux.
I want to use rand() to generate a random name for the page. But I then realized something, rand() could produce duplicates. How do I prevent PHP from trying to make the same directory at the same time? I know there are functions that will check if a file exists but I'm assuming it'll fail if that directory is currently being created, right?
How do I assure thread safety?
I willing to change my idea and not use rand(). Is there a way to get a unique key for each anonymous user on my site?

What it does it pretty simple, you enter some html-code that'll be stored in the "webcode" variable, a password, let's say "apple" in "webpass" and the filename is stored in "webname".On first creation, a html-file is created with the <!--- md5(apple) ---> at it's end, the HTML Tags are needed to hide the string from any visitors. If someone wants to edit the File created before, he also enters "apple". Then the string will be looked up as md5(apple) in the file. If the strings match, it's true and the changes should be saved.
