PHP - How Could I Show A Different Query For A Different Div Class?
I'm not exactly sure how to go about this, but I have an IM & online friends script that shows the online friends both in a module position as well as in a jquery box. Currently it's set to link the results to the IM function for both positions, however I want the module position to link to their profile and the jquery box to link to the IM function.

Where am i going wrong? Note that this class is just for testing and not actually used. I have a function that performs a SELECT query on a MySQL database and populates the results in an array of Class. At the moment it is using PDO. Trouble is that PDO is not supported by the server the code will run on. Changing server is not an option, nor is installing PDO.
I have tried splitting the function to use the PDO method if installed or MySQLi if not. I am struggling to get the MySQLi part working though. Can anyone help me with this?

the byrefValues function is simply swapping a value array to a reference array and seems to be working fine. I can paste that too if required.

Now that I want to do projects with more complexity I'm thinking I need to approach development in a more Object Oriented fashion. My question is more a theoretical one. I'm creating a User class and I'm not sure on what is the best practise for putting my functions etc. and where to call them. My project will have 2 different users (Admin & End User) so is it correct to say that the User class should encapsulate all the functions of both of these users ? By that I mean create/delete/modify user, login & change password/forgotten password functionality rather than having a seperate Login class Should I only call the database functions within these methods of the user class as opposed to calling them on the php page where the form data is posted ? For example, if a user logins in and when the form data is posted I currently open a connection, validate data, run the query. In an OO approach would I have just one User class method thats relevant to a particular page functionality ? it "works", but results doesn´t start at number 1 but number 2
anyways, The intent of this table is to show the stock of a product, a lens, that has a range of Rx, we use to see this range this way, and show the stock this way would be very productive, but I can´t figure out how to achive it, any sugestion??

When I do a search, it generates the proper number of links, but clicking on the links goes to a page with a whole row of 20 links at the bottom and no results on the page. (my search should show 3 pages with 2 records on each page) I've looked through the tutorial here and one in a book on pagination. Not seeing what's wrong. The cookie doesn't show if I go to that url page. But it does show up once I reload the page. And if there are 100 rows on the page, a link will be displayed at the bottom, that says "Next 100". Then this will display the next 100 rows. Can you give an example how to do this please? Thanks |
