PHP - How To Properly Get Data From Database And Dump It Into Dropdown Menu?
Hi,
I have a MySQL database called "2011_database" that has a table called "2011_list." In that table I have fields, amongst others, called "name" and "district." I need to find way to get the data from the table and put them into a drop down list on other PHP page. But they need to be listed as "name - district" on one line. I am PHP beginner and if I understand it correctly there need to be two references to get all the data in all records, a third reference to merge them together with " - " in between; and what eludes me the most, putting them in a drop down menu. In the below example I am using two while loops, where the second one is nested inside first one, that check two different expressions fetching data from tables found in a MySQL database. The second expression compares the two tables IDs and after their match it displays the email of the account holder in each column in the HTML table. The main problem is that the 'email' row is displayed properly while its while expression is not nested and alone(meaning the other data is omitted or commented out), but either nested or neighbored to the first while loop, it is displayed horizontally and the other data ('validity', 'valid_from', 'valid_to') is not displayed.'

I'm also wondering how I can bring all the drama_genreIDs to my save(doupdate.php) page and update all 3 of them because it seems like only the last dropdown menu's data is saved. And also how can I display only 6 genres instead of 7 with the genre that belongs to the drama , being set as the default selection. I am trying to convert and old website from mysql database to sqlite. One of the chores it must do is collect information from the database and put it in a list/menu select box on a page so the user can choose which item to pursue.
In the following (incomplete) snippit, I am doing something incorrectly because the sql query does get the proper information (I can put it in a table on the page just fine). But I'm having trouble getting the information into the select options on a list/menu. It appears to be putting them all, one after the other in the first option spot. The last one seems to be the only one of 6 or 7 that shows up.
It's been 10 or 12 years since I've messed with php, so I think I'm way behind... any help would be appreciated.

I have a problem when i click at the first column of my drop down menu and it explores submenu, the submenu mixes with the nav menu that is under the drop down menu on the left. i could solve it with margin-top of the nav menu but i don't like the empty space beetwen them. I tried with putting overflow:visible; in CSS of my dropdown menu but it is still the same. drop down menu is seen but there is stil seen nav menu under and they are mixed. So basicly i want my dropdown menu to be priority, so when i clicks on my first column (only first column is problem because there under is nav menu the other are open nice) it will explore submenu and the part of nav menu that covers the submenu will be hidden.

I don't seem to get any errors when running it, but it's not updating my database the way that it should. hopefully a simple fix. I am thinking that it must be on the MySQL side of things. Couple of things to start. My html form is comprised completely of drop down list inputs. I'm the only user so I thought this would be the easiest approach. I've tried the drop down variables as both VARCHAR and TEXT inputs in MySQL, but I can't seem to get it to work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Is it possible to simply fetch from the server(mySql) and then dump it online through a PHP page? Is there some link that you can share? Hi, I've currently started to modify a chat script of mine to output a moderation panel but the moderation page seems empty(blank) every time I load it. What im trying to do is to take the ID part in my URL via the $_GET and look it up in my database table in the column named id, then select that specific row to be able to retrieve the StringyChat_ip and place it into another table to ban the IP and the second thing im trying to do is to be able to delete the specific row from my table.

hi guys, im new to this forum I'm new also to php, I need help from you guys: I want to display personal information from a certain person (the data is on the mysql database) using his name as a link: example: (index.php) names 1. Bill Gates 2. Mr. nice Guy i want to click Bill Gates (output.php) Name: Bill Gates Country:xxxx Age: xx etc. How can i make this or how to learn this? I have a stdClass Object array with nested User arrays as a value that I would like to display in a table cell. I am struggling and have exhausted a lot of time. Hello, im trying to make a dropdown show up for every single row gotten from the database table. Instead it shows only one for the first row.
