PHP - Multiple Strings Being Value Of One String
How can I make it so that $year-$month-$day is the value of $shutoff. So when it posts to database, it will be in date format..........so something like $shutoff = $_POST['$year-$month-$day'] or [year-month-day]. Those are dashes not minuses.........is that correct format also? How do I do something like this?
Similar TutorialsI am trying to work out how to correctly format an SQL query string from user data taken from multiple HTML text boxes/dropdowns. As an example assuming i have a searach page on which the user can enter search criteria into the following fields: name - text box site_location - drop down box (default set to 'search all') job_title - drop down box (default set to 'search all') manager - drop down box (default set to 'search all') email - textbox Its easy when all fields have user data set or one has user data set but when the user has entered data into only a couple of the fields I have problems constructing the SQL query, namely when it comes to adding the 'AND' keyword into the SQL query. No matter how i try to set out the logic in the PHP code i seem to end up with at least one combination of the search critea leading to back to back AND statements. I construct the SQL query by appending a string variable $query with the relevant search criteria, for example: $query = "select * from employees where "; if ($_POST['name'] != null) { $query=$query."name='".$_POST['name']."' "; } if ($_POST['site_location'] != 'all') { $query=$query."AND site_location='".$_POST['site_loaction']."' "; } //etc This does not work out though when fields are empty, I have tried adding additional if statements to check ahead to see if fields further down in the query are required and if so append an 'and' but I cannot seem to get the logic correct. Is this something anyone else has come accross, if so is there a better solution than the route i am going down? Thanks for reading. hello, im wondering how to properly code the following. Code: [Select] $stdate = date( 'Ymd', strtotime($pdate) ); $sttime = date( 'His', strtotime($tstart1) ); $dtStart = ".$stdate.'T'.$sttime.'Z'"; echo "$dtStart"; i would like the echo to read 20110309T050000Z Hi, How can i check if a string is a multiple of 0.1 without anything being left over? like 1.6 = true, 1.46 = false I have this form
<form action="" method="get" name="size"> Størrelse <hr><label><input type="radio" value="9" name="size" onchange="this.form.submit()">92 (2år)</label> <label><input type="checkbox" value="147" name="size" onchange="this.form.submit()">68 (6-9 mdr.) </label><label><input type="checkbox" value="150" name="size" onchange="this.form.submit()">86 (18-24 mdr.)</label> <input type="checkbox" value="149" name="size" onchange="this.form.submit()">80 (12-18 mdr.)</label> <label><input type="checkbox" value="148" name="size" onchange="this.form.submit()">74 (9-12 mdr.)</label> </form>I want to make it so that when the user clicks one checkbox for example size 68 and then checks size 80 I want both sizes to be in the URL query string. But every time the user clicks a new checkbox, the query string changes accordingly. Maybe with a separator like ?size=4:23 and then I will handle it with the DB stuff. Please tell me how to add multiple elements in the query string with this form, thank you! Edited by Stefany93, 21 May 2014 - 08:03 AM. Hi Guys and Girls, Long time lurker, first time poster! I am usually able to read through the forums and find and answer without having to start a new thread but I've tried my best to no avail. I am having trouble with the following code: $afname="Gareth"; $alname="B"; $awayoption.="<OPTION VALUE=\"".$afname." \"".$alname."\">".$afname." ".$alname; I would want that to produce the following: Code: [Select] <OPTION VALUE=Gareth B">Gareth B The actual result at the moment is: Code: [Select] <OPTION VALUE="Gareth "B">Gareth B It has an extra " in the middle. Any ides or help would be great! Cheers Hello, I have a few strings that contain dates along with some other text. The string looks like this: Code: [Select] Hi, could you please add these dates to the database?<br /> <br /> <br /> 2-September-2011<br /> 6-September-2011<br /> 7-September-2011<br /> 8-September-2011<br /> 9-September-2011<br /> <br /> Thank you. Dates are always the same format. Sometimes there's a single date, most times there are multiple. Does anyone know how can I get the dates from this string to add them to my sql database? Thank you! Hi all, i've got a string ($currentcatid) which contains one number which changes dependant on which page the visitor is on.. ie it may be perhaps "23" or "17" . I need to do a check against this string to see if it contains any of the following values .. 31,32, 1, 24 . I cant remember how i did it before but i think it was with pipes.. something along the lines of if ($currentcatid =="31"||"32"||"1"||"24") { action } can anyone help? Thanks Hello everyone. I'm creating a website that has a sort of messaging system built in and I'm trying to get the information pulled out of the database to display exactly as it was typed. For example, if someone types this message: "This is the first line. This is the second line. And this is two lines below the second line." (By the way, when I view this message using phpMyAdmin, the message is displayed in the above format.) I would like to have the message displayed the same way when it is queried from the database. As of now, this is what I'm seeing instead: "This is the first line. This is the second line. And this is two lines below the second line." How can I achieve this? I would post the code that I'm using, but it's just a basic mysql query to get a variable "$message" then I'm just using echo "$message"; to put it on the page. Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! I am trying to make it echo if a string doesn't equal any of the values.
I have tried:
if(!preg_match("/none|Blue|Brown|Green|Grey)/i", $eyecolor)){ echo "Not an eye color"; } The below might be a noob question but, I concatenate two spaces in the below string $new_hebrew_date_string = $hebrewMonthName . ' ' . $hebrewDay . "%"; yet when I execute echo "<br />new_hebrew_date_string is $new_hebrew_date_string<br />"; printf("hebrew_date_string is: %s <br />", $new_hebrew_date_string); Only one space is output in between $hebrewMonthName and $hebrewDay regardless of how many spaces I pad the string with. Strangely enough, the string $new_hebrew_date_string is correctly padded w/spaces when I pass it as a parameter to a mySQL stored procedure. Any ideas anyone? Thank you. So I'm trying to create an Array from a comma separated string containing array{s}. How can I take a string full of comma separated hex values such as : <?php $myStr = ( "00ffff", "00cccc", "009999", "007777", "004444", "001111", "01ffff", "01cccc", "019999" ); ?> & turn it into 3 separated arrays like : <?php $myNewArrs = [ Array1 ( 3 ), Array2 ( 3 ), Array3 ( 3 ), ]; ?> which REALLY looks like : <?php $myNewArrs = [ Array ( "00ffff", "00cccc", "009999" ), Array ( "007777", "004444", "001111" ), Array ( "01ffff", "01cccc", "019999" ), ]; ?>
? Thank you & have a great afternoon!
Edited May 27 by AquariaXI Hi, I am trying to make some adjustments to uploadify.php which comes with the latest version of uploadify (3.0 beta), so that it works with a session variable that stores the login username and adds it to the path for uploads. Here is uploadify.php as it currently looks: Code: [Select] <?php session_name("MyLogin"); session_start(); $targetFolder = '/songs/' . $_SESSION['name']; // Relative to the root if (!empty($_FILES)) { $tempFile = $_FILES['Filedata']['tmp_name']; $targetPath = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . $targetFolder; $targetFile = rtrim($targetPath,'/') .'/'. $_FILES['Filedata']['name']; // Validate the file type $fileTypes = array('m4a','mp3','flac','ogg'); // File extensions $fileParts = pathinfo($_FILES['Filedata']['name']); if (in_array($fileParts['extension'],$fileTypes)) { move_uploaded_file($tempFile,$targetFile); echo '1'; } else { echo 'Invalid file type.'; } } echo $targetFolder; ?> I added Code: [Select] echo $targetFolder; at the bottom so that I could make sure that the string returned was correct, and it is, i.e. '/songs/nick'. For some reason though, uploads are not going to the correct folder, i.e. the username folder, but instead are going to the parent folder 'songs'. The folder for username exists, with correct permissions, and when I manually enter Code: [Select] $targetFolder = '/songs/nick';all works fine. Which strikes me as rather strange. I have limited experience of using php, but wonder how if the correct string is returned by the session variable, the upload works differently than with the manually entered string. Any help would be much appreciated. It's the last issue with a website that was due to go live 2 days ago! Thanks, Nick hello, here is what i have, obviosly it doesnt work. Code: [Select] $year=$_POST['y']; $yr=substr($year,-2); $mth=$_POST['m']; $init=$_POST['initial']; $jobnumber=$yr$mth2343$init; echo "$jobnumber"; P.S. thanks to everybody for their help lately! is there a way I can make something like a ticket in pdf format that can have $name or the likes echo in it? if you could help get me started, that would be great! I was thinking how can I make a script that will build strings incrementing through each letter starting with "a" and ending with "zzzzzz" or what ever ending length I want such as 12. So if your were to output everything, you could find the words: "dog" "spider" "superman" "hippo" etc What would be the best way to do this, so I don't have to have a loop that is 500 blocks deep to show a word that is 500 letters example Quote a ... z aa ab ac ... az ba bb bc ... ... aaa aab aac Hey guys!! So basically what I am doing here is pulling the directory out of a url. URL ex: http://www.xxx.com/T...IS_WHAT_I_WANT/ Hi I am having troubles using a string in a cookie.. This doesnt work: setcookie("background", "$image_name", $expire, "/", ".gedoo.com"); Neither does this: setcookie("background", "" . $image_name . "", $expire, "/", ".gedoo.com"); If I write something before $image_name like: setcookie("background", "hello" . $image_name . "", $expire, "/", ".gedoo.com"); It will save "hello" in the cookie.. So in other words, $image_name doesnt look like it is defined.. But the funny thing is that this works on the same page: echo "File Uploaded Successfully!<br><img src='images/$image_name'>"; Anyone have any idea on what I am doing wrong? Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me to "get" the webaddress of a current webpage and then pull off pieces of the page. All of my pages look like: http://localhost:8888/algebra_book/Chapters/Quadratic_Functions/introductory_problem.php BUT, the stuff to the left of Quadratic Functions WILL change in the future. So all will look like: *Quadratic_Functions/introductory_problem.php Then, I'd like to pull off a $chapter variable, which in this case is Quadratic_Functions and a $page_name variable which in this case will be introductory_problem. Thanks so much. |
