I'm really new to PHP and having some difficulties with $_SESSION and getting userid from the database. I've managed to put content to my database and also a login script. Though, adding sessions has been a pain. Here's what I got so far:
$sql = "SELECT username, password FROM users WHERE username = '$username' and password = '$pas'"; $query_login = $db->prepare($sql); $query_login->execute(array('userid' => $userid, 'username' => $username, 'password' => $pas)); $result = $query_login->rowcount(); if ($result>0) { session_start(); $_SESSION['username'] = $username; $_SESSION['logged'] = 1; $_SESSION['userid'] = $result['userid']; header('Location: ../user/user.php'); } Hi there, I must say this forum looks great and its good to be here. Now I'll get straight to the point. I am working on a website where supplier and a member should be able to login with a single UserID. That is, a member can be a supplier at the same time (logged in with the same ID) and if he is the supplier, he should be given a link taking him to the supplier admin area. If he is just a member, that supplier link will not be there. Having a separate ID for member and supplier is not what is required. If the member is a supplier there will be a supplier admin link. Looking forward to hearing from you guys! Any inputs/feedback is always welcome. Cheers! Sid. When I try to compile the following code, I receive a warning: Notice: Indifined index: userid $letters = array_merge(range("A", "Z"), array("&#198", "&#216", "&#197")); mysql_select_db("okern", $link_id); $userid = $_POST['userid']; echo "$userid"; foreach($letters as $letter) { if(isset($_POST[$letter])) { $product = $letter . '1'; $antall = $letter . '2'; $enhet = $letter . '3'; $melding = $_POST['melding']; $query = "INSERT INTO orders VALUES ('farhad', '$product', '$antall', '2011-04-18', '$melding')"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); } } When I try to compile my php file in phpDesigner I accept Notice. But, when I run the same php file from browser echo "$userid"; code workes. And I see the userid transferred from another php file on the screen. So I do not understand why I get this notice in compilation process. I am creating a football predictor game and have a table in the database to hod all my users i have written a query to pull all out the users that have made a prediction that day with their predictions made i have put this into an array so my array will hold all the user details 1 being their userId I have set the order by on the query to userId so I get all the same users predictions in 1 block. I now want to extract all the predictions for each user and put these into their own array but I don't know which users the array will hold, how many users their will be, or how many predictions each user would have made so i'm not sure how to create this array i'm quite new to php can anyone help me with this Hello, Have a question that i hope some one can help me answer. I have started creating a facebook app that will translate lovepoems. The problem im having is that facebook redirects everything wrong, which makes my life a living hell. So what i thought is it's possible to while submitting the form and the user gets redirected to the facebook allow app page, wait with submitting the form or maybe bring the post id with me and then post the content to the db liked to the post from a different page. simply so i don't have to make the accept form and then go to the actual content? So I'm using Wordpress as default CMS system if that helps. This is the code. Code: [Select] <?php /* Template Name: Febuary Love testing app */ ?> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- Original: Wayne Nolting (w.nolting@home.com) --> <!-- This script and many more are available free online at --> <!-- The JavaScript Source!! http://javascript.internet.com --> <!-- Begin function verify() { var themessage = "You are required to complete the following fields: "; if (document.form.title.value=="") { themessage = themessage + " - Title"; } if (document.form.description.value=="") { themessage = themessage + " - Poem"; } if (document.form.post_tags.value=="") { themessage = themessage + " - Keywords"; } //alert if fields are empty and cancel form submit if (themessage == "You are required to complete the following fields: ") { document.form.submit(); } else { alert(themessage); return false; } } // End --> </script> <?php add_filter('fb_php_sdk_load','your_filter'); function your_filter($array) { $array[] = '2.1.2'; //exact version number you need return $array; } $facebook = new Facebook(array( 'appId' => '179200268852090', 'secret' => '3b62bc6b207e4038aa56a28bfc5ed368', 'cookie' => true, )); $session = $facebook->getUser(); if (!empty($session)) { try{ $user = $facebook->getUser(); $user = $facebook->api('/me'); } catch (Exception $e){ } if (!empty($user)) { } else die ("An error occured"); } else{ $loginUrl = $facebook->getLoginUrl(array( 'canvas' => 1, 'fbconnect' => 0, 'scope' => 'offline_access, publish_stream' )); echo "<a href='".$loginUrl."'>Click </a> to add the Copypanther Facebook application"; } ?> <?php $user = $facebook->getUser(); if($user){ $access_token = $facebook->getAccessToken(); } ?> <?php if( 'POST' == $_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] && !empty( $_POST['action'] ) && $_POST['action'] == "new_post") { // Do some minor form validation to make sure there is content if (isset ($_POST['title'])) { $title = $_POST['title']; } else { echo 'Please enter the Poem name'; } if (isset ($_POST['description'])) { $description = $_POST['description']; } else { echo 'Please enter some notes'; } $tags = $_POST['post_tags']; $access_token = $_POST['access_token']; $user = $_POST['user']; // ADD THE FORM INPUT TO $new_post ARRAY $new_post = array( 'post_title' => $title, 'post_content' => $description, 'post_category' => array($_POST['cat']), // Usable for custom taxonomies too 'tags_input' => array($tags), 'post_status' => 'draft', // Choose: publish, preview, future, draft, etc. 'post_type' => 'post', //'post',page' or use a custom post type if you want to 'access_token' => $access_token, 'user' => $user, ); //SAVE THE POST $pid = wp_insert_post($new_post); add_post_meta($pid, 'access_token', $access_token, true); add_post_meta($pid, 'user', $user, true); //SET OUR TAGS UP PROPERLY wp_set_post_tags($pid, $_POST['post_tags']); //REDIRECT TO THE NEW POST ON SAVE $link = get_permalink( $pid ); wp_redirect('http://www.ngee.se'); } // END THE IF STATEMENT THAT STARTED THE WHOLE FORM //POST THE POST YO do_action('wp_insert_post', 'wp_insert_post'); get_header(); ?> <?php if ( have_posts() ) while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?> <div class="form-content"> <?php the_content(); ?> <!-- WINE RATING FORM --> <div class="wpcf7"> <h2>Share some February Love!</h2> <p>Although the 14th of February might and should be dedicated to your loved one, we think that friends, bosses and coworkers deserve some affection, too. Ok quick run down... I need to pass a variable from one page[form] to another while skipping a page that is in the middle. The middle page is paypal... after they pay, they are being redirected to a thank you for registering with a email also being sent. But I need their email from the first page[form]. so what i need to figure out or help is: 1. First page is a form, they enter name, last name, address, email and so on 2. They are redirected to paypal to pay for a service. 3. Are directed back to my site for a email to be sent to them, but I need their email from the first page. I cannot figure this out and I know I'm just looking past the obvious... I am creating a simple "you are now leaving this website" page, Everything is setup, and all urls pointing to http://mysite.com?exit=http://externalsite.com, It should redirect to my exit.php which will redirect to the external site after 5 seconds. The problem is, the "http://" of the external site is causing a 403 forbidden, and even without it, anything with multiple &s isn't passing through. I cannot figure out how to get it to pass the full url to the exit.php... Can anyone explain to me why this system isnt working? I have no clue why it shouldnt be. The pin number is passed from a form to this script, which then determines if a users pin is correct and if so, forwards them onto the relevant page. Otherwise, it returns them to the login. <?php session_start(); $pin=$_POST['pin']; if ($pin='7221') { $_SESSION['pin']='7221'; $_SESSION['name']='Keith D Whelpton'; header('Location: phonesystem.php'); } elseif ($pin='3585') { $_SESSION['pin']='3585'; $_SESSION['name']='Luke S Barnes'; header('Location: phonesystem.php'); } else { header('Location: phonelogin.php'); } ?> $seat_s is a $var that can have multiple values depending on a form in a previous page. this code works fine as is, but i need to pass the array into a 3rd page. i have no idea how to do this from the code below. ive tried passing the array straight into a _post then _get on the next page but that only holds the 1st value and not all of them. suggestions please.... thanks <?php $seat_s = $_POST['seats']; foreach($_POST['seats'] AS $seat) { $rowId = substr($seat, 0, 1); $columnId = substr($seat, 1); echo $rowId . $columnId . ", "; } ?> Hi, I'm trying to pass a variable into a URL and apparently I'm doing it wrong this code is OK Code: [Select] $id = $3; echo '<a href="newPage.php?id=3"></a> If I use Code: [Select] $id = $_GET['id']; echo $id; on the newPage.php, I echo 3 whereas, if I do Code: [Select] $id = $3; echo '<a href="newPage.php?id="'.$id.'"></a> when echo out on the newPage.php it prints out nothing also, in current url look like this: Code: [Select] www.site.com/newPage.php?id= What am I doing wrong? Many thanks Hi First post here. Long time reader! I'm looking to gauge the general practices of dealing with variables between pages. I'd always pass my variables through the POST. Im normally always doing a post back and processing the data at the top of the page. I never liked the query string as it open to manipulation, but can see its use for a search results page and saving the url. I came from a ASP background and we would only use session variables for holding user login information as the windows server had a habit of restarting the pool and loosing the session. We didn't want this happening, for example, when doing an e-commerce transaction. We always felt the post was the most robust method. Now Im using php and all the great features it has. I was looking to see what the more experience php developers used and am I right sticking to the post method, or is utilising session a more modern way of doing things. I've a few years experience doing web dev, just thought I touch base on a few issues to make sure I'm still heading in the right direction. Thanks for any advice guys! Hellooo, I have a map on my site, a user types in there postcode, and clicks next, then a new page opens, the latitude and longitude, is passed from page one, to page two, the user then types in their details and clicks send. The details are then sent to me. But the latitude and longitude is not being sent in the email. Heres a breakdown of my code. Page one. Code: [Select] <form method=LINK name="form1" action="apply.php"> <input name="latitude" type="hidden"/> <input type="hidden" name="longitude"/> <input type="submit" value="Submit"> </form This adds the variables to the URL and passes them to next page. Page two Code: [Select] <?php $latitude = $_GET['latitude']; $longitude = $_GET['longitude']; ?> This grabs the variables and then. Code: [Select] <?php echo "<input type='text' name='Longitude' value='{$latitude}'>"; ?> this places it into a text box, i then send the form just like any others, but it doesnt come through in the email. just blank any suggestions or any better way to do this? Thanks how can i pass more then one value via href with this kind of method echo "<a href=\"submit_docs.php?prop_id=".$prop_id."\">Click </a>"; tnx Hello all, So I've picked up a PHP book in an attempt to learn it. The issue I'm having is preventing me from getting any further. They have me creating a simple order form, but the data is not passing from the HTML page to the PHP Processing file. I know there are other ways of doing this that I'm unaware of, but this code is verbatam to what we are isntructed to type within the book itself. Here is the code orderform.html: Code: [Select] <html> <body> <form action="processorder.php" method="post"> <table border="0"> <tr bgcolor="#cccccc"> <td width="150">Item</td> <td width="15">Quantity</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Tires</td> <td align="center"><input type="text" name="tireqty" size="3" maxlength="3"></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Oil</td> <td align="center"><input type="text" name="oilqty" size="3" maxlength="3"></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Spark Plugs</td> <td align="center"><input type="text" name="sparkqty" size="3" maxlength="3"></td> </tr> <tr> <td>How did you find Bob's?</td> <td><select name="find"> <option value = "a">I'm a regular customer</option> <option value = "b">TV advertising</option> <option value = "c">Phone directory</option> <option value = "d">Word of mouth</option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="center"><input type="submit" value="Submit Order"></td> </tr> </table> </form> </body> </html> processorder.php: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Bobs Auto Parts - Order Results</title> </head> <body> <h1>Bobs Auto Parts</h1> <h2>Order Results</h2> <?php $tireqty = $_post['tireqty']; $oilqty = $_post['oilqty']; $sparkqty = $_post['sparkqty']; echo "<p>Order Processed at "; echo date('H:i, jS F Y'); echo "</p>"; echo '<p>Your order is as follows: </p>'; echo $tireqty.' tires<br />'; echo $oilqty.' bottles of oil<br />'; echo $sparkqty.' spark plugs<br />'; $totalqty = 0; $totalamount = 0.00; define('TIREPRICE', 100); define('OILPRICE', 10); define('SPARKPRICE', 4); ?> </body> </html> For some reason the values on the processing form dont show up. The only text thats displayed is : Bobs Auto Parts Order Results Order Processed at 17:07, 9th January 2011 Your order is as follows: tires <---- Should be showing the total quantity ordered bottles of oil <---- Should be showing the total quantity ordered spark plugs <---- Should be showing the total quantity ordered Is anyone able to let me know where the error is in this code? The writers website isnt any help.... Regards, sapper6fd |
