PHP - Find The Total Number Of Individual Record In Mysql With Php
Dear all,
I would like to find the total number of individual record in MySQL with php. For example: I have different department name stored in a column in MySQL. I would like to find out the total number of each department. But I do not know the names of the department How can I do it?? Counting the total of each department without knowing their names Thanks! Similar TutorialsHi Everyone. i have a page which list all records. i then have several detail pages which i need to link via the id number. for ex. records: id number name 1 john smith 2 peter parker the detail page is layout out like so: View details page 1 | view details page 2 | view details page 3 Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. 1 Total number of likes work, but I'm guessing it can be done differently, any input would be appreciated. /controllers/indexController.php $posts = Post::find('all', [ 'limit' => 4, 'include' => ['likes'] ]); foreach ($posts as $post) { $post->assign_attribute('likeCount', count($post->likes)); } } /models/Post.php class Post extends ActiveRecord\Model { static $has_many = [ ['comments', 'class_name' => 'PostComments'], ['likes', 'class_name' => 'UserLikePosts'] ]; } /models/UserLikePosts.php class UserLikePosts extends ActiveRecord\Model { static $belongs_to = [ ['user'], ['post'] ]; }2 The big question is, how can I get a true/false for "if current user has liked post"? I was thinking something like this, but using vars won't work here, and I would have to use a ternary or a function call to do it like this as the session var might not be set (guest). class Post extends ActiveRecord\Model { static $has_many = [ ['comments'], ['likes', 'class_name' => 'UserLikePosts'], ['user_likes', 'class_name' => 'UserLikePosts', 'conditions' => ['user_id = ?', [$_SESSION['user']['id']]] ]; } Edited by JimL, 21 June 2014 - 03:36 PM. I need to find first digit (any number 0 - 9) in a string. I thing I should be able to use: $NumberPosition = strpos($Source, "/[0-9]/", $NumberPosition+1); but it does not work, wonder what I am doing wrong? Hello I am very new to php and programming and I need a grand total of "$Total = odbc_result($result, "total");" but not sure of how to create it.

How do I total unique id's with php or MySQL. For instance in MySQL I have... ID 1 1 3 4 2 1 1 3 How can I total all of the 1's, all of the twos, all of the threes and so forth. I have four 1's, one 2, two 3's and so forth... Hi friends, I'm looking to try and echo the profits from a MySQL "totals" table for each month of the year... the table bascically consists of a "totals" column which contains the total amount spent on each order, a "suppliertotals" column which contains the total amount that it costs us to buy the goods for that order and an "orderdate" column which stores the order date as "d/m/y" (so 01/01/01). To work out the total margin from the complete table, I calculate the sum of totals minus the sum of suppliertotals. This is our margin. I'm currently doing the calculation with MySQL's sum() function, and using PHP explode to get the date, but I'm obviously doing something wrong since PHP is returning the same month several times with different amounts... Let me show you the code I have; I presume I need to use some kind of foreach statement, but I'm not sure where or how... hoping you can help! if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("onetelec_wsshop", $con); $result=mysql_query("SELECT orderdate FROM totals", $con); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $ordmonth = explode("/", $row['orderdate']); $ordmonth = $ordmonth[1]; switch ($ordmonth) { case "01": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin = $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for January<br /><br />"; break; case "02": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin = $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for February<br /><br />"; break; case "03": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin = $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for March<br /><br />"; break; case "04": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin = $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for April<br /><br />"; break; case "05": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin = $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for May<br /><br />"; break; case "06": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin = $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for June<br /><br />"; break; case "07": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin = $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for July<br /><br />"; break; case "08": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin = $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for August<br /><br />"; break; case "09": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin = $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for September<br /><br />"; break; case "10": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin += $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for October<br /><br />"; break; case "11": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin += $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for November<br /><br />"; break; case "12": $stresult=mysql_query("SELECT sum(total), sum(stotal) FROM totals WHERE ordate LIKE '%/$ordmonth/%'", $con); while($strow = mysql_fetch_array($stresult)) { $margin += $strow['sum(total)'] - $strow['sum(stotal)']; } echo $margin." for December<br /><br />"; break; } } Code: [Select] $sql = "SELECT poster_id from phpbb_posts WHERE topic_id = ".$topic_id." "; $result = $db->sql_query($sql); //same as mysql_query $row = $db->sql_fetchrow($result); // same as mysql_fetch array. var_dump($row); With this code (i commented the query function for you) im getting Code: [Select] array 'poster_id' => string '59' (length=2) When I run this into SQL in phpmyadmin I'm getting Code: [Select] 59 56 //this is what I want I need to get all of the records, not just the first one. I have even tried using replacing the function with mysql_query and mysql_fetch_array any ideas? It's a bit late, so I may just be making a simple mistake. Thanks! I create a post just now but cannot seem to find it to add to it. Anyhow, I have 2 tables, I need to multiply qty from the one table to the mass from the other to get a total, which I have achieved with this code: $sql_total_mass = " SELECT jobs_assembly.assemble_qty, jobs.mass, (jobs_assembly.assemble_qty * jobs.mass) AS 'sum' FROM jobs_assembly LEFT JOIN jobs on jobs_assembly.jobs_id = jobs.id LEFT JOIN job_names ON jobs.job_names_id = job_names.job_id WHERE jobs_assembly.assemble_date = '$link_date' ORDER BY job_names.job_name, jobs.assembly "; $result_total_mass = mysqli_query($conn, $sql_total_mass); if (mysqli_num_rows($result_total_mass) > 0) { while($row_total_mass = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result_total_mass)) { echo $row_total_mass['sum'].'<br />'; } //while } //if Now I need to take all these totals and make a grand total. So basically add all the results from $row_total_mass[‘sum’] together and show it.

Thank you in advance. MOD EDIT: code tags added. Greetings everyone! I have a form that stores data to a database. Separate from that page I would like to have another where at any given time a user can download a .csv of the most recent addition or two? If not a .csv, can they easily view the record without having to know mySQL / phpAdmin and such? Thanks! Jerry I have a MySQL database with each record of a person who has registered for an event, I am displaying the information on a web page for a user, but he wants to be able to print out all the records in alphabetical order by last name, first name later on so he will have a hard copy of each person who has registered at the table when they arrive. How can I write each record to a Txt file that he can print out later that will be formated with the record contents along with each fields definition (Ex. Last Name - Smith, First Name - John, etc)? Hey Everyone, I want to start out by saying thanks in advance for reading this. Since I started working with the XAMPP package this community has been a great resource, though this is my first post. most of my work has been modifying existing stuff in our network, this is my first project from scratch. I am working on an access control project where I am storing site names and RFID tags in a table, and using PHP to check for existing records. Basically, I want to submit 2 credentials from a host (site and RFID), check if they exist together in the table, if so return TRUE or 1, if not return FALSE or 0. I am new to both PHP and MySQL (although I took a course years ago) so I am looking here for help. On this server I have XAMPP installed and everything I need running. I have a table and created a few records for testing. My current trouble is getting PHP to return the proper values for the SQL query. The SQL query works fine, I think - it returns the number of rows that match and that record. I'm not sure this is the result I need to be able to deal with the way I want. Using other resources my current PHP statement looks like this: Code: [Select] if(mysql_num_rows(mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE 'site_name' LIKE 'berland' AND 'card_id' LIKE '290093C84E' LIMIT 0 , 30"))>0){echo '1';} else {echo '0';} So, my table has the entry as noted in this query above. Final one will be dynamic where the host will be sending those values - I will likely need help with that as well, but small steps first.;-) Anyway, I was playing around with the end statement >0{echo '1';} but wasn't able to make it do what I want. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Aaron |
