PHP - Error Functions, Die ()
I have a login code that uses die() and when the die code is executed it terminates the rest of the html code.
I cant put the html before the php because of meta tag and head tag issues >.< I need a proper working error function that works properly \= like if you login wrong on myspace or facebook a little error message appears in a box and works perfectly. The only issue is, that there are a huge number of functions because there doesn't seem to be any other way to do this properly. As well as this, there a while() loop and all this seems to be leading to the page reaching a max 30 second timeout when generating the result. I am gathering from this that the scope of one () is not aware of the existence of two (). Is there a way to get around this so I can call two () and three () from one ()? The code goes through registered appointments and depends on the service ID, I have to free a 45 minutes for another service to be booked. Everything seems to work fine when/if I use the following SQL query (which can also be seen commented out in my code towards the end of this post) :

I thought instead of writing out the query every time I want to do this I would include a functions page with the query in it. The only variable I carry from the user is the user name as a session when they log in. The user name is the email address of the person signed in. so here is my first function. But, I don't have a good understanding of it even then...also, I'm not sure "inline functions" is the actual names of these...here is a sample...
