All i get is: Rather than the actual text that it should show. I have a form that submits the text to a UTF8-Unicode DB table. A then have a php doc that reads that table and echos to the document. However it just comes out as The document is set to UTF-8 and PHP sends the UTF-8 header. Does anyone know what im doing wrong? This only seems to happen when using IE Meant to look like : ل لينوكس دلخواه قابل نصب بوده But instead just shows ?????????????? I'm doing this for my own happies So using Facebook.com's API you can extract all of a specific user's friends in an array. Well I'm making a array check to see who on that users friend list was removed or deleted them that week using array_dif(); in this method: 1) User allows the application 2) Application catches the user's friends_id's in an array and stores them // this is where i'm having trouble, i'll come back to it 3) User then waits a few days and notices their friend count is no longer 400, it's now 399! 4) User logs into my application, and checks the previously uploaded array against their current array of friends. Okay now to the part i'm struggling with is, what would you do? Should i store them each uniquely in a database? Because some users have 4,000+ friends and that gets quite strenuous. OR! Should i save them into a txt file unique to that person's user_id. I kind of like the 2nd option, however it's less ( to my newbish mind ) customizable versus the sql_queries. Once again, i'd like to reiterate, i don't care that this is again Facebooks terms of service, it's for my own personal gain and just enjoy taking on projects in my spare time that force my brain to work hard. That's all, hope you excuse the typos and poor grammar. Typed this pretty quickly, any questions - feel free to ask! '</span>'; } ?> Where is this code getting the name "$firstName"... <?php if(isset($firstName)) I guess I am asking what in my Form determines the name of things in the $_POST array?? Hope that makes sense?! Debbie Some of you may have seen one of my many posts about email issues. Some users don't get them, and I have determined it is probably because we are marked as spam.
We are a service that grades sales team members on their phone skills. Listening to pre-recorded calls, grading and uploading them to our site, and then another part of our business looks them over and sometimes leaves a message that then get's forwarded to this persons work email.
I have determined there is ways to get marked as spam as default by not having an opt out link. This is not an option, these sales members employer has opted in, and the emails are going to work related accounts hosted at that employer. Also, if one of these staff members is not so bright, or disgruntled they may mark us as spam anyways. The bottom line is that we have very little control over whether we are or are not marked as spam.
So we want to start looking into sending text messages and this is where I start to question how good of an idea this is.
First off, if it was me, and the messages where being sent to a device that my employer did not provide, I would in no way want work related text messages coming to me. Unless there is a vested interest in getting them. IE, I'm the boss at this place and am always on the clock. What if you are on the bottom? It's just a job for you.
What if it is a pre-paid device, text messages cost money. What then? What if they don't even have, or want a cell phone?
The short of it is this. If I'm at a job that is just another job, and this employer tells me that I have to get these messages. I'm going to look for another job. I see the organizations having continuous issues and complaints from their employees. Thus us as a business having issues keeping clients.
What am I getting into here? What are your opinions on this matter? What are your recommendations as to alerting users of something on our site that we can rest assured are being received 100% of the time?
Thanks!
Nick
Hi there everyone! I'm trying my best to Google my way through this issue, but have run into an issue I can't out-Google. I'm trying to write a script that is receiving an email, breaking it apart into it's various components and then storing into a database. I would like to sto from name from email to name to email subject headers body Here's what I've cobbled together from various tutorials and demo's: $fd = fopen("php://stdin", "r"); $email_content = ""; while (!feof($fd)) { $email_content .= fread($fd, 1024); } fclose($fd); //split the string into array of strings, each of the string represents a single line, received $lines = explode("\n", $email_content); // initialize variable which will assigned later on $from = ""; $subject = ""; $headers = ""; $message = ""; $is_header= true; //loop through each line for ($i=0; $i < count($lines); $i++) { if ($is_header) { // hear information. instead of main message body, all other information are here. $headers .= $lines[$i]."\n"; // Split out the To portion if (preg_match("/^To: (.*)/", $lines[$i], $matches)) { $to = $matches[1]; } $toregexp = '/To:\s*(([^\<]*?) <)?<?(.+?)>?\s*\n/i'; if(preg_match($toregexp, $email_content, $to_dissection)) { $toname = $to_dissection[2]; $toemail = $to_dissection[3]; } // Split out the subject portion if (preg_match("/^Subject: (.*)/", $lines[$i], $matches)) { $subject = $matches[1]; } //Split out the sender information portion if (preg_match("/^From: (.*)/", $lines[$i], $matches)) { $from = $matches[1]; } $fromregexp = '/From:\s*(([^\<]*?) <)?<?(.+?)>?\s*\n/i'; if(preg_match($fromregexp, $email_content, $from_dissection)) { $fromname = $from_dissection[2]; $fromemail = $from_dissection[3]; } } else { // content/main message body information $message .= $lines[$i]."\n"; } if (trim($lines[$i])=="") { // empty line, header section has ended $is_header = false; } } My issues are many. I've got from and to names that don't reflect the true data, the from address will be the original sender and not the most recent sender if it's forwarded and finally, the body is showing up empty. Clearly, I'm not handling this properly. With all the trouble-ticket like systems out there, there has to be a fairly bulletproof method of handling this, doesn't there? I'm thinking I've gone about this totally the wrong way. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
