PHP - Insert Failing In Php Code
My application just broke about 2 hours ago and for the life of me I don't know what I did to it?! (I was coding a different file, and when I tried to run the main - unrelated index.php - things stopped working?!)
Here is a snippet of the suspect code... if ($rows == 0){ // Email and Username are available. // Add User to the database. $q = "INSERT INTO users(username, email, pass, first_name, last_name, date_expires) VALUES('$u', '$e', '" . get_password_hash($p) . "', '$fn', '$ln', ADDDATE(NOW()), INTERVAL 1 MONTH))"; $r = mysqli_query($dbc, $q); When I step through my code in NetBeans, the INSERT is failing and I don't know why because I haven't touched this code since this morning and it was working all day... Please help! TomTees Similar TutorialsI am trying to make a login which works perfectly until I try and add remember me functionality into the User class. Hello everyone:
I'm having trouble with code that compares a Form value ($uname) to Field values (username) from my database. In testing, I'm using the same Form data over and over, and I now have several identical records instead of just one unique record for this user.
if (empty($_POST["uname"])) { $unameErr = "* Username is required"; } else { $uname = test_input($_POST["uname"]); if (!preg_match("/^[a-zA-Z0-9]*$/",$uname)) { $unameErr = "* Only letters and numerals are allowed"; } else { // Now sure the username is legit, we check to see if it's a // unique username by comparing it to all usernames already in member table. require_once 'login.php'; // This file contains database access credentials $db_conn = new mysqli($db_hostname, $db_username, $db_password, 'login'); if($db_conn->connect_error) die ('Connect Error: ('.$db_conn->connect_errno.')'.$db_conn->connect_error); $query = "select username from member"; // Only selecting the field to compare to $result = $db_conn->query($query); if(!$result) die ('Database access failed: ('.$db_conn->connect_errno.')'.$db_conn->connect_error); $rows = $result->num_rows; for($i = 0; $i <= $rows; $i++) { if(mysqli_fetch_assoc($result) == $uname) { $unameErr = "* Username already in use. Please choose another."; mysql_close($db_conn); exit; } } $query = "insert into member values(NULL, '$uname', '$pwd1', '$fname', '$lname')"; $result = $db_conn->query($query); if(!$result) die ("Database insertion failed: ".mysql_error()); } }This is my first attempt at this using PHP and am pleased that I can at least access my db. But I just can't figure out how to make this comparison check. Thanks in advance for any help you offer. ~Landslyde An insert function is not inserting. I keep getting "Could not store data, please try again." After some probing, it seems that "$result = $conn->query($user_degree_insert_query); " is where the problem is. Variables before it seem to pass testing. I can't figure out why this line is messing thins up though. Any idea? Thank you in advance for your help! The "//$degree_id = mysql_fetch_array($degree_id_query, MYSQL_BOTH) ;" is commented out because it was giving me trouble, i replaced it with the line above that $conn = db_connect(); $arraycount = count($degree_Array); //loop through the categories chosen and add them each into member-category for($i =0; $i < $arraycount; $i++){ $degree_id_query = "SELECT degree_id FROM degree WHERE degree_type ='".$degree_Array[$i]."'"; $result = $conn->query($degree_id_query); //place the id found into the array, which automatically cancatonates it. $degree_id = $result->fetch_array(); //$degree_id = mysql_fetch_array($degree_id_query, MYSQL_BOTH) ; $user_degree_insert_query = "INSERT INTO user-degree ( `user_id` , `degree_id` ) VALUES ( '".$user_id."', '".$degree_id[0]."' )"; $result = $conn->query($user_degree_insert_query); if($result) { header("Location: survey2.php"); }else { echo "<p>Could not store data, please try again.</p>"; exit; Hi, I need to insert some code into my current form code which will check to see if a username exist and if so will display an echo message. I am showing Youtube videos on my site and am pulling the data in from an xml file... However this is the problem I'm having... When I pull in the video the output is working correctly until you get the image file... it's HUGE... NOT what I wanted so I set about trying to figure out how to resize the image... I have tried many things but no luck. I don't have access to the google api to change the picture size sooooo... I"m trying to do so within the php I do have..here is what I have... $videos[$i]['img'] = $matches[0]; That output shows the HUGE picture.... Here is what I've tried to do ... $videos[$i]['img'] = $matches[0] "width=100px height=100px"; That is a no go... it crashes the site and I know it's a quote thing.. I do know that the first example outputs the image... or puts the img in a string to be output according to the video, I understand that. How do I resize the img to make it smaller? Hi,
I'm really at a loss here.
I have queried a table to get an option list, which returns what I expect but I need to then add it to some current code instead of the fixed option list presented.
The syntax is beyond me.
Please see attached.
Any pointers would be great.
