PHP - When Page Refreshed...stop Resending Of Data

When I use the following code, it doesn't print out "test" until after I refresh the page.

unset($_SESSION["product"]);

if ( !empty($_SESSION["product"]) && ($_SESSION["product"] != NULL)) {
echo "test";
}

When I use:

var_dump($_SESSION["product"]);

It shows:

array(0) { } 

I'm wondering it that's the problem. That it's array(0) when it should be array().

Hi I have an include page full of functions in a secure folder with htaccess. My problem is if the include file does not exsist, I get the following.

I'm not a php coder so I really need help on a simple question... I am trying to direct users to a page in my mySQL database (http://www.educatorsoverseas.com/index.php?section=teacher&act=registration) via the button form below:

But when when users click on the button it is directing instead to the mySQL authentication page (http://www.educatorsoverseas.com/index.php?section=auth). I don't know why this is happening but can anyone tell me how to make it go to the proper page? When I copy and paste the correct page it works, so I am at a loss as to what to do.

Hi guys, basically my problem is I have a jquery pop out window that holds a login form using the "require_once" function but when I enter my login details and send them, if there is another another form on the page e.g contact form it will send that form aswell so it will come up for the errors for the register form because they are empty. can anyone tell me how to stop this from happening?

I've got a form on page A, with its 'action' attribute set to page B.php.
Page B does nothing but process the form data & put it in a database.
At the bottom of B.php there's a header redirect to page C. 

My problem is that page B shows up briefly in the browser, looking all blank and weird. Is there a sensible way around this? I just want it to do its stuff in the background.

I realise I should be Ajaxing it all but, apart from the fact that I struggle with Ajax operations longer than a couple of lines, it's important that the site should work without javascript.

i have a form with two buttons, one is for submitting the form while button is for generating a random a code and placing it in a textfield. this works fine but the problem is anytime i click on the generate button, it refreshes the page thereby validating the form , which i don't want. How do i make it perform the function without refreshing the page....

Is there any way that PHP can detect if a page has been refreshed? Basically I have a form that when submitted, inserts a row in to a database, but I am finding that when I refresh the page, it repeats the insert statement.

Any ideas?

Hi,   The above code is from an XML file and I added the <?xml line of code to the XML file, but doing so causes the whole page to no longer display the track information (just blank). Is there there a way I could modify that text to try and call it another way?   Thanks

Hi, i need to run this past you guy's. I need a way to effectivly check if a user has entered correct "real" details in my registeration form and check if email is already in my database to prevent the user from registering twice?

I need this as some unknown person is using the form and entering there details like this:

email: 1

It's really annoying as they are doing this several times so i have around 13 rows of just "1" in my table now! grr!!

I am trying to grab the value selected in a Dropdown, with $_GET['q']. Then i am echoing the grabbed value.

Funny thing is, when i select value from HTML dropdown (onchange="location=this.value"), and when a new value is selcted, it appaears in url like this:

But when i try to grab and echo the value of 'q' it gets passed only when i refresh the page and not when i change my selecting in dropdown.

Am not sure whats happening, can someone help me on this?

Hi guys,

I am trying to put together a little system that allows users to log onto my website and access there own personal page. I am creating each page myself and uploading content specific to them which cannot be viewed by anyone else.

I have got the system to work up as far as:

1/ The user logs in
2/ Once logged in they are re-directed to their own page using 'theirusername.php'

Thats all good and working how I need it too. The problem I have is this. If I log onto the website using USER A details - I get taken to USER A's page like I should but - If I then go to my browser and type in USERBdetails.php I can then access USER B's page.

This cannot happen!! I need for USER A not to be able to access USER B profile - there is obviously no point in the login otherwise! If you are not logged in you obviously cannot access any secure page. That much is working!

Am I right in thinking it is something to do with the "loggedin" part?

The system I have here is adapted from a normal login system I have been using for years. The original just checks the details and then does a 'session start'. This one obviously has to re-direct to a user specific page. To do this I used the <<header("Location:" . strtolower($username) . ".php");>> line to redirect to a page such as "usera.php" or "userb.php"

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm using PHP and MySQL to display images on the first page.    When the image is clicked on I'm passing an ID to a new page.   I want that ID to display the ID data that's associated with  that ID.    For example:    ID 1 should display - Title - title1,  Details - details1, image - image1    and ID 2   ID 1 should dislay - Title - title2,  Details - details2, image - image2   But only displaying ID 1 data not matter if the URL is - website.com/thedetials.php?id=1  or  website.com/thedetials.php?id=2   In other words, it displays the same data even though the id in the URL is different.        Page 1

Is it possible to write a php script that would extract data from an external web page. I've been working with php for a few years as a hobby, but I've never seen this done or needed a reason to until now. Thanks in advance for any responses.

I'm trying to loop "Question" as a list of links (link is #id_number), and then later on the page loop "Question" and "Answer", anchored by the id_number tag.

It's looping "Question" just fine, but how do I then loop the same data again later in the same page?
