PHP - Need Help With Downloading A File From The Server

I want that user can only read my article but can't download it. neither with save page as or with view source, even not with selecting text. and copy and paste. is there any solution in php to do that.

I have a problem with some of my php script.

I have some php code that downloads a remote file and directly outputs it to the user. It works and all, it's just that when I do it on my Ubuntu LAMP server, downloading a file takes up a lot of ram. On my Windows WAMP server it works correctly and doesn't use up so much ram. Is this a problem with my code, or is it a server configuration?

Hi,

I want to download more than one file at a time. But now I can't download any of them that way. I want to solve it the way it is in gmail, i.e. I download either 1 file separately or if there are two or more, it is zipped.

I have a script that will download a file from my server onto the user's computer. The problem is it's adding the pages HTML to the top of the file. When I actually look at the file on my server it does NOT have the HTML there, so it has to be some sort of problem with my headers.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to determine if a user is currently downloading a file from my website.
The way my site works, is the user waits 30 seconds and views an ad. After the timer is up the download becomes available.
I heard that I could probably use a timestamp or something of the sort. I've read up on it but not sure how I could go about this.

Hello, I am new and am having a hard time with PHP. 

Scenario:  There are PDF files on my website that I want users to register before downloading the files.  I do not want them to login but rather provide basic information such as name and email address.  Once the form is submitted, I am not sure if I should be using PHPSESSION to validate the user.  Also, I am not sure where to place the files: either in the webroot (/var/www/) or outside.

I am new to PHP so please forgive me if I use terminology incorrectly.

I have a PHP web system that store in a windows server. In the system, there is a function for user to upload files to another server (Shared server in Unix).

When i try to upload a file, it gives warning:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(\\unixserver/sharedfolder/upload/test.txt) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in C:\wamp\www\upload\index.php on line 40

For your information, my username has been assigned in xxx's group that has access to read and write on that folder. Besides, i'm able to open,create and delete files on that folder's server manually (samba).

The safe mode setting is off.

Does anybody has any idea why this thing happen?

Ok, I have a download script. The script is called like:

The download file code is below. My site hosts quite a few files that get linked on other websites. Problem is, when that link is clicked, obviously it just starts the file download, as if it were a direct link to the file.

What I need to do, is still have it download the file when the link is clicked, but I would also like it to redirect the browser to my homepage as well.

I tried placing this after the download headers but it didn't work.

Hey. I am wanting to move a couple of files from my current server to another.

If i am uploading the file this is fine but if it is already on the server then im not sure how to move it.

When uploading I can just use ftp_put($conn_id, $destination_file, $myFile, FTP_BINARY);

What i need to do is figure out how to get a hold of the file and store it in $myFile then this would work fine.

Is this possible?

Anyone know how I can print a file (specifically a PDF) that is stored on the server to the clients computer with a button?  I don't want them to be able to view it, just print it.  I've done some research and understand that there is no way to print directly without popping up the Windows Print dialog.  And that is fine.  I just want them to print this file, but not no where it is or be able to type in a URL to access it.

I have a form which is used to upload files to my server, now i need to move files to another server as soon they are uploaded, but move_uploaded_file will work with local server where form has been submitted.

 i was thinking to add some ftp functions to upload that file to remote server but is there any better way?  that user dont notice ftp connection timing. i wants to use less ftp connections and user should not notice delay timing for image upload.

Is it possible to allow a script running on another server to write/read a specific file on my server?  I can set file permissions, but not having any luck with file paths due to php5 blocking http:// urls.

I have a script that uploads my file, but this script requires apache. I want to get this file onto my other server that's running nginx. Is there a way for PHP to write a file to nginx?

Alternatively, is there a way for PHP to copy a file from one server to another? Because that will work as well.

How do I do this?
