PHP - Creating Brand Web Pages Using Querys
I have designed and created a ecommerce website that allows the user to add products to a shopping cart and for the admin to edit the inventory list. However i would like to have a navigational bar on the website where the user can choose a brand of product and the webpage shows only that brand. I know i can do this by using the WHERE command in a query however would i have to make a separate web page for each brand?
Thanks Boldonglen Similar TutorialsUsing MySQL and PHP. I have two tables mobiles and brands. mobiles has { mobileID |brandID | price| BrandName| MobileName} brands has { brandID | BrandName } In admin panel admin is able to delete both the table indivdiually but I want that if brand is deleted all the related mobiles should also be deleted How is this possible? I have not created any code for this as I dont know where to start, or what its even called. I am on about trying to create a page dynamically depending on the id which is selected. Parts of the URL will change depending on what id is selected for example: 'http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=h. i am wanting to create a video website, where when the thumbnail of a video is clicked, a new page is loaded with that more details of the video and the video itself, and im guessing the url would change to identify the id of the video. I cannot create a page for every video by hand, as i will have many videos and this is not very efficient. I am just after the name of this technique or a pointer to a tutorial for how to achieve this. Thanks, Matlab Hi Everyone, Please excuse my lack of tech. terminology. I'm in the learning stages of php/myslq Do you know how both the below pages are very similiar. The only thing that's different is the actual location(s). My question is, is the same code being used for all of these template pages? If so, how does the code know differentiate between different states/cities/? Does each state or even city have a different template? <<--- Thinking out loud here, I don't believe so because that would defeat the purpose of php/mysql. What do you think? http://cars.oodle.com/regions/illinois/ http://cars.oodle.com/regions/indiana/ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> http://cars.oodle.com/regions/illinois/ <<--- Assuming this code is being used on the "state template" how does the php/mysql code on this page know how to show data from the Bloomington area of Illinois? We have a php script which pulls the records from the database and puts them into a table on the page. Currently, it fetches all the customer records. This wasn't such a problem when there was only a few customers in the db but this is a bit higher now! Is there any way I can modify the script to only show 20 per page and add links to page 2 etc along the bottom, which can be clicked to show the next 20 and so on? I can post my current code if need be, Thanks. Me and a buddy have started a new website. Were basically looking to make a site where you can upload a swf or image file (at first) for a temp. amount of time. Lets say 24 hours. Then after 24 hours its deleted. We eventually wanna grow into a bigger site where you can log in, keep your files, etc. However we have the site layed out and a server set up. We are missing the key part of PHP making the site work. What are the first steps we should take? Are their any tutorials to help us set up a basic site? Does anyone wanna help with the project? .... j/k..... but seriously. Thanks guys. Would love any advice or tips. I am trying to display records from a database using pagination. Currently the first page is showing and data is being displayed correctly. The links are also available below to move from page to page, however when I click on the next page, nothing happens. Thanks Hi, My site http://bittleships.com is a simple online battleships game. Theres a 1088 cell grid where each cell is a mysql database entry containing details wether its been clicked, if theres a boat in the location etc. the site usually loads all the querys in 0.3 seconds, but when 5 or more people are playing this easily hits 1+ seconds. The code that displays the grid is this: Code: [Select] echo("<center><span style='background-color:white;color:red;font-size:12'>$griderrormsg</span></center>"); } echo("<table width='20' border='0' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0'"); for($i=1; $i<=32; $i=$i+1){ echo("<tr>"); for($j=1; $j<=34; $j=$j+1){ $c++; $cell = $c; $sql="SELECT * FROM grid WHERE `ID` = $cell"; $result=mysql_query($sql); $row = mysql_fetch_array( $result ); $clicked = $row['clicked']; if ($clicked == "1"){ echo("<td title='$j, $i'><img src='b.gif"); }elseif ($clicked == "2"){ //if the ship was hit $hitby = $row['user']; echo("<td title='$j, $i - Hit by $hitby.'><img src='h.gif"); }elseif ($clicked == "3"){ //if is chest $hitby = $row['user']; echo("<td title='$j, $i - $prevamount btc won by $hitby.'><img src='chest.gif"); }else{ echo("<td><a href='index.php?c=$c'><img src='g.gif"); } echo("' BORDER=0></td></a>"); } echo("</tr>"); } echo("</table>"); } Is there a better way of running this for it to run quicker? Hello coders, I'm using this code to grab random results from a table and it works well but I need it to be a non-repeating event. Code: [Select] $offset_result = mysql_query( " SELECT FLOOR(RAND() * COUNT(*)) AS `offset` FROM `jobs_board` "); $offset_row = mysql_fetch_object( $offset_result ); $offset = $offset_row->offset; I'm using this query followed by the html which is a set of divs with inline echo statements for the various variables I've localised from the table. Then I'm repeating that process a number of times to create a small list (I wanted to use a single while loop but cant figure it out at the moment). Anways, how can I make it so each query is random but also not repeated? At the moment they are indeed random but sometimes one same entry will appear a number of times consecutively... All of my pages look like: http://localhost:8888/algebra_book/Chapters/Quadratic_Functions/introductory_problem.php BUT, the stuff to the left of Quadratic Functions WILL change in the future. So all will look like: *Quadratic_Functions/introductory_problem.php Then, I'd like to pull off a $chapter variable, which in this case is Quadratic_Functions and a $page_name variable which in this case will be introductory_problem. Thanks so much. Hi, I hope someone can help. I currently have a page that includes the main page after login, however I am looking into changing this so that when a user logs in they get 3/4 linked images that, when clicked dynamically load/include the page based on the select i.e. user selects the image laptop, that has a hyperlink, it loads the laptop page. If anyone has any ideas or suggestion,i'd appreciate it. hi guy's i have on one page select from table, and i don't know how to limit showing content from database on 3, and rest to make number under it and when i click on that number next 3 is showen? Hello everyone, this is my first post. This isn't just a simple post and leave, I'm looking to expand into this community and learn as much as I can. Well on to the problem at hand! I decided to start with something simple as a login page and now want to expand it to make it fully functional.
