PHP - Dividing Data Into Multiple Div's
I have about 300 users, and I'm trying to group them geographically according what part of the state their county is in OR if they're reading my site because they have a favorite college team. I've created a page that I want to show the total count for each group. There will be 13 groups, and I'd rather not have 13 queries.
Basically, I think, I can't make heads or tails of nested loops. I'd like it to look like this: Region 1 (## members) Region 2 (## members) Region 3 (## members) etc. ... ... ... ... ... I assume there will be IF and ElseIF statements. Here is what I'm starting with, but I can't even get the first group working: Code: [Select] $query = 'SELECT * FROM wp_usermeta WHERE meta_key = "wp_1_s2member_custom_fields"'; $results = mysql_query($query); while($line = mysql_fetch_assoc($results)) { $meta_value = unserialize($line['meta_value']); echo '<div>Region 1 (' . $d1 . ' Users)</div>'; if ($meta_value['county'] == '1' || $meta_value['county'] == '2') { ++$d1; } }; Similar TutorialsThis topic has been moved to MySQL Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=351561.0 Ok so i want to grab an id from the checkbox then grab the option drop down associated with that check box and update a mysql row here is my code so far any help is awesome help taaaanks guys <?php mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "root") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("db1") or die(mysql_error()); $query = "SELECT * FROM tickets ORDER BY id DESC"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { print "<input name='delete[]' value='{$row['id']}' type='checkbox'>"; mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "root") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("db1") or die(mysql_error()); $query2 = "SELECT * FROM admin"; $result2 = mysql_query($query2) or die(mysql_error()); print "<form name='namestoupdate' method='post' action='update.php'>\n"; print '<select>'; while($row2 = mysql_fetch_array($result2)) { if ($row2['priv']==prov){print '<option value="'.$row2['user'].'" name="prov['.$i++.']">'.$row2['user'].'</option>';} } print '</select>'; print "<input type='submit' value='submit' />"; print "</form>"; } ?> Visual aid Hello all, I am trying to learn OOP in PHP so please forgive my ignorance. I seem to be having difficulty inserting data into my database from checkbox items. My database has a column for each each fruit. I would like for each column to be populated with either a one(1) for checked or a zero(0) for not checked. Currently, my attempts have failed. I can either get all checkboxes to insert all zeros or I can get the first column to insert a one(1) while the others as zeros. Is there anybody here that can help me figure out what I am doing wrong and help me to re-work my code so I can get this to work? If anybody can help me using OOP methods that would be fantastic. Thank you all in advance.
$preffruit->create_preffruit(array( 'fruit_apple' => escape(Input::get(['fruit_selection'][0]) ? 1 : 0), 'fruit_orange' => escape(Input::get(['fruit_selection'][1]) ? 1 : 0), 'fruit_banana' => escape(Input::get(['fruit_selection'][2]) ? 1 : 0), 'fruit_pear' => escape(Input::get(['fruit_selection'][3]) ? 1 : 0), 'fruit_kiwi' => escape(Input::get(['fruit_selection'][4]) ? 1 : 0) )); <input type="checkbox" name="fruit_selection[]" value="fruit_apple"> <input type="checkbox" name="fruit_selection[]" value="fruit_orange"> <input type="checkbox" name="fruit_selection[]" value="fruit_banana"> <input type="checkbox" name="fruit_selection[]" value="fruit_pear"> <input type="checkbox" name="fruit_selection[]" value="fruit_kiwi"> public function insert_preffruit($table, $fields = array()) { $keys = array_keys($fields); $values = ''; $x = 1; foreach($fields as $field) { $values .= '?'; if($x < count($fields)) { $values .= ', '; } $x++; } $sql = "INSERT INTO preffruit (`user_id`, `" . implode('`, `', $keys) . Basically what I have is a link table linking together source_id and subject_id. For each subject there are multiple sources associated with each. I had created a basic listing of sources by subject... no problem. I now need a way of having a form to create an ordered list in a user-specified way. In other words, I can currently order by id or alphabetically (subject name lives on a different table), but I need the option of choosing the order in which they display. I added another row to this table called order_by. No problem again, and I can manage all of this in the database, however I want to create a basic form where I can view sources by subject and then enter a number that I can use for sorting. I started off looping through each of the entries and the database (with a where), and creating a foreach like so (with the subject_id being grabbed via GET from the URL on a previous script) Code: [Select] while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($rs)) { //update row order if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { //get variables, and assign order $subject_id = $_GET['subject_id']; $order_by = $_POST['order_by']; $source_id = $row['source_id']; //echo 'Order by entered as ' . $order_by . '<br />'; foreach ($_POST['order_by'] as $order_by) { $qorder = "UPDATE source_subject set order_by = '$order_by' WHERE source_id = '$source_id' AND subject_id = '$subject_id'"; mysqli_query($dbc, $qorder) or die ('could not insert order'); // echo $subject_id . ', ' . $order_by . ', ' . $source_id; // echo '<br />'; } } else { $subject_id = $_GET['subject_id']; $order_by = $row['order_by']; $source_id = $row['source_id']; } And have the line in the form like so: Code: [Select] echo '<input type="text" id="order_by" name="order_by[]" size="1" value="'. $order_by .'"/> (yes I know I didn't escape the input field... it's all stored in an htaccess protected directory; I will clean it up later once I get it to work) This, of course, results in every source_id getting the same "order_by" no matter what I put into each field. I'm thinking that I need to do some sort of foreach where I go through foreach source_id and have it update the "order_by" field for each one, but I must admit I'm not sure how to go about this (the flaws of being self-taught I suppose; I don't have anyone to go to on this). I'm hoping someone here can help? Thanks a ton in advance Hi, I'm trying to make a page that records the training I do. I've got a column for time (total time for the whole training session), and one for laps (how many laps completed). I've got another for average lap time, which I've calculated as Code: [Select] $avg_lap_time = $time / $laps; Everything is displaying fine except the average lap time, which is just displaying as 0. Any idea how to fix this? More of the code is below. Code: [Select] <table class="tenk"> <tr><th>*</th><th>Date</th><th>Course</th><th>Course Distance</th><th>Laps</th><th>Time </th><th>Average lap time </th></tr> <?php $result = @mysql_query($select . $from . $where); if (!$result) { echo '</table>'; exit('<p>Error retrieving info from database!<br />'. 'Error: ' . mysql_error() . '</p>'); } $row_counter = 1; //create row counter with default value 0 while ($results = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<tr valign='top'>\n"; $training_date = $results['training_date']; $course_name = $results['course_name']; $course_distance = $results['course_distance']; $laps = $results['laps']; $time = $results['time']; $avg_lap_time = $time / $laps; echo "<td>"; echo $row_counter++; echo "</td>\n"; echo "<td>$training_date</td>\n"; echo "<td>$course_name</td>\n"; echo "<td>$course_distance</td>\n"; echo "<td>$laps</td>\n"; echo "<td>$time</td>\n"; echo "<td> $avg_lap_time </td>\n"; echo "</tr>\n"; } ?> </table> In a script links are captured from the internet by $link, then display it by echo $link The links have the general format of http://domain.com/something/filename.html I am looking for a simple way to display capture some elements from $link and display "domain.com" and "filename" In other words, I need a code to remove other parts of the link provided by $link Code: [Select] (substr($killdeaths=$Kills/$Deaths,0,4));im sure im doing it wrong Hi there. I have a page(portfolio.php) that shows all the pictures from my db. Now what i want is: when i click on the picture to send me to a page(portfolio_single.php) where other datas are shown but those datas that are related to that picture. ex: when i click first picture it will open (portfolio_single.php) showing the infos of that picture, then when i click to the secon picture it will open same page with different datas (retreiving them from db). Anyone have any idea how to do that? here is my portfolio.php: Code: [Select] <?php require_once('Connections/ecommerce_dbcon.php'); ?> <?php if (!function_exists("GetSQLValueString")) { function GetSQLValueString($theValue, $theType, $theDefinedValue = "", $theNotDefinedValue = "") { if (PHP_VERSION < 6) { $theValue = get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? stripslashes($theValue) : $theValue; } $theValue = function_exists("mysql_real_escape_string") ? mysql_real_escape_string($theValue) : mysql_escape_string($theValue); switch ($theType) { case "text": $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? I am designing a baseball website and I am trying to add in a schedule, here is what I have: Data Bases 1) Teams DB - Each team has a unique team ID, location, logo, and owner 2) Schedule DB - Each game has a unique game ID, and the schedule is set up like this: AWAY = Team ID, HOME = Team ID.... So I assume I am using the JOIN command to pull the schedule from both databases, any idea how the SQL command would look? I insert multiple id from my checkbox to mysql database using php post form. in e.x i insert id (checkbox value table test) to mysql. no i need to any function for retrieve data from mysql and print to my page with my e.x output.(print horizontal list name of table test where data = userid) my checkbox value ( name table is test ) : Code: [Select] 01 ---id----- name ---- 02 ---1 ----- test1 ---- 03 ---2 ----- test2 ---- 04 ---3 ----- test3 ---- 05 ---4 ----- test4 ---- 06 ---5 ----- test5 ---- 07 ---6 ----- test6 ---- 08 ---7 ----- test7 ---- 09 ---8 ----- test8 ---- 10 ---9 ----- test9 ---- mysql data Insert ( name of table usertest ): Code: [Select] 1 ---id----- data ---- userid ----- 2 ---1 ----- 1:4:6:9 ---- 2 ----- 3 ---2 ----- 1:2:3:4 ---- 5 ----- 4 ---3 ----- 1:2 ---- 7 ----- example outout : ( print horizontal list name of table test where data = userid ) print? Code: [Select] 1 user id 2 choise : test1 - test4 - test6 - test9 Thanks Hi.
I have a product database w/ tables each for product series, model, sub-model and optionals. One item in each of these makes up one product. So Series K, Model 7, sub-model 2, optional 3 will be a product called K 7/2-3 .The permutations and combinations of these are all possible products.
In the same db, I have a quotations table. Each quotation has a unique id / record. A quotation can include any number of products : it can have K 7/2-3, KA 561/1-2 , FPN 311/2-1 or it can only have KA 561/1-2 etc.
Now I am stuck. Don't know how to
a. structure the quotations table
b. create a MySQL select so that one statement can make multiple selections . I thought of using a checkbox but that doesn't work either since the series/model/sub model/optionals must chosen sequentially.
Any ideas I can follow thru ?
Many thanks

Thank you I have stored supplier information in a table and same form user will select multiple products for that supplier and that will be stored in a seperate table against that supplier id. Now when i would like to display all supplier information with muliple products in a single line. Now all the information will be displayed as many time as the products are. How to display all the products in a same line.
Now my display is like this
if(isset($_POST['submit']) && ($_POST['vendor']!='') && ($_POST['item']!='')) { $sql="SELECT supplier.id AS sid, supplier.name AS SNAME, supplier.category, supplier.website, supplier.email, supplier.phone, supplier.vat, supplier.pan, supplier_location.id, supplier_location.supplier_id, supplier_location.location, supplier_products.id, supplier_products.supplier_id, supplier_products.product_id, location.loc_id, location.name AS locname, products.product_id, products.name AS pname FROM supplier INNER JOIN supplier_location ON supplier.id = supplier_location.supplier_id INNER JOIN supplier_products ON supplier.id=supplier_products.supplier_id INNER JOIN location ON supplier_location.location = location.loc_id INNER JOIN products ON supplier_products.product_id=products.product_id WHERE supplier.id=".$sup." AND supplier_products.product_id=".$product; $sql1 = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); <table> <thead><tr> <th>Vendor ID</th> <th>Vendor</th> <th>Category</th> <th>Website</th> <th>Email</th> <th>Phone</th> <th>Products</th> <th>Locations</th> <th>VAT</th> <th>PAN</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <?php while($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql1)) { ?> <td><?php echo $row['sid'] ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['SNAME'] ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['category'] ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['website'] ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['email'] ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['phone'] ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['iname']; ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['locname']; ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['vat'] ?></td> <td><?php echo $row['pan'] ?></td> </tr> <?php } ?> </tbody></table> } This topic has been moved to MySQL Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=305902.0 I have this code working fine (thanks to Thorpe). FYI, this code is getting info for each day and putting that info into the array and then later on a calendar is generated and the data gathered here is placed onto each specific day. This is working EXCEPT when there are MULTIPLE data sets on the SAME day. In those cases, it's just displaying the first data set. In other words, if $hunches['day'] = 3 and there is just one data set with that date, it will display that info on the calendar fine. But if there are five data sets with $hunches['day'] = 3, then it only displays the first one. I need it to display all data sets, so any clue how I could alter this code to do that? Code: [Select] $sql = "SELECT *, DATE_FORMAT(`dob`, '%e') AS day FROM hunches WHERE poolid = '{$_GET['poolid']}' AND (DATE_FORMAT(`dob`,'%m')) = " . $month1 . " ORDER BY day"; $gethunches = mysql_query($sql, $connection); if (!$gethunches) { die("Database query failed: " . mysql_error()); } else { while ($hunches = mysql_fetch_array($gethunches)) { $days1[$hunches['day']] = array(NULL,NULL,'<span class="red">' . $hunches['firstname'] . '</span>'); } } Here is a further explanation... Say $hunches['day'] = 5 and there are four data sets for that day (with respective firstnames of Bob, Joe, Jim and Tony). I would essentially need this to happen in the code... Code: [Select] $days1[$hunches['day']/*which would be 5 in this example*/] = array(NULL,NULL,'<span class="red">' . $hunches['firstname'] . '</span><br> <span class="red">' . $hunches['firstname'] . '</span><br> <span class="red">' . $hunches['firstname'] . '</span><br> <span class="red">' . $hunches['firstname'] . '</span>'); And that would then output... Bob Joe Jim Tony ...in the 5th day box on the calendar. Right now, I'm just getting... Bob I fear this is very complicated to do but holding out hope that there is some relatively easy way to make this work. Hi there, I have a form submitting to a mysql database. It was requested that I put a multiple file upload option on it. So I added the fields to the form and the database and added the upload script to the form processing file (and of course created the folder on the server with proper permissions to upload to). It should upload the file(s) to the folder on the server and insert the filename into the database. I keep getting: HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request. This leads me to believe the upload script isn't working properly. If someone could take a look at it I would be a very happy guy. This is the upload script: (insert.php) Code: [Select] <?php $con = mysql_connect("server","user","pass"); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("db", $con); $dateSubmitted = date("Y-m-d"); $target = "attachments/"; $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['doc1']['name']); $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['doc2']['name']); $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['doc3']['name']); $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['doc4']['name']); $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['doc5']['name']); $sql="INSERT INTO investments (active, project, inv_amount, account_type, prefix, first_name, last_name, address1, address2, city, province, postal_code, country, phone, email, referral_fee, ref_agent, ship_name, ship_address, ship_city, ship_province, ship_postal, ship_country, notes, dateSubmitted, doc1, doc2, doc3, doc4, doc5) VALUES ('$_POST[active]','$_POST[account_type]','$_POST[project]','$_POST[inv_amount]','$_POST[prefix]','$_POST[prefix]','$_POST[first_name]','$_POST[last_name]','$_POST[address1]', '$_POST[address2]','$_POST[city]','$_POST[province]','$_POST[postal_code]','$_POST[country]','$_POST[phone]','$_POST[email]','$_POST[referral_fee]','$_POST[ref_agent]','$_POST[ship_name]','$_POST[ship_address]','$_POST[ship_city]','$_POST[ship_province]','$_POST[ship_postal]','$_POST[ship_country]','$_POST[notes]','$_POST[dateSubmitted]',$_FILES['doc1']['name'],$_FILES['doc2']['name'],$_FILES['doc3']['name'],$_FILES['doc4']['name'],$_FILES['doc5']['name'])"; //Writes the photo to the server if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['doc1']['tmp_name'], $target)) if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['doc2']['tmp_name'], $target)) if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['doc3']['tmp_name'], $target)) if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['doc4']['tmp_name'], $target)) if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['doc5']['tmp_name'], $target)) { //Tells you if its all ok echo "The file ". basename( $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name']). " has been uploaded, and your information has been added to the directory"; } else { //Gives and error if its not echo "Sorry, there was a problem uploading your file."; } if (!mysql_query($sql,$con)) { die('Error: ' . mysql_error()); } //echo "1 record added"; header("Location: ../forms.php"); mysql_close($con) ?> Thanks in advance. JE Hi all . In my scripts , there is a textarea that allow user to enter multiple phone number , message and date . If there are 3 phone numbers in textarea , how can I insert 3 of them into sql with the same data of message and date? Such as : phone number : 0102255888,0235544777,0896655444 message:hello all date:10/10/2011 and when it's insert into table , it will become: 1. 0102255888 | hello all | 10/10/2011 2. 0235544777 | hello all | 10/10/2011 3. 0896655444 | hello all | 10/10/2011 Here is the code I tried , but it will just save the last phone number . Code: [Select] $cellphonenumber = explode(',', $_POST['cellphonenumber']); $message = $_POST['inputtext']; $date = $_POST['datetime']; foreach($cellphonenumber as $value) { $sql="INSERT INTO esp( Recipient , Message , Date) VALUES ('$value','$message','$date')"; } mysql_query($sql) or die ("Error: ".mysql_error()); echo "Database updated."; Any hints or advices ? Thanks for every reply . Hi Guys Just need some advice to go in the right direction. I'm working on a csv upload script (part of a bigger thing i'm building), so i read in the csv to a multipdimensional array and then build a query that inputs all rows in one query - i read this is the most efficient way to import multiple rows of data at once(rather than multiple insert statements). Just for illustration here's the code i use to build the query so you understand what i'm on about: Code: [Select] $sql = "INSERT INTO teams (company, teamname, teamnum, amountraised, country, president) VALUES "; // $rows is a count of the rows in the csv for($i=1; $i<$rows; $i++){ $sql.="('{$myarray[$i][0]}','{$myarray[$i][1]}','{$myarray[$i][2]}','{$myarray[$i][3]}','{$myarray[$i][4]}','{$myarray[$i][5]}')"; echo $i . "<br/>"; if($i >= 1 && $i < $rows - 1) { $sql.= ","; } } Anyway, the issue is that one of the fields("teamnum") needs to be unique - so i've set this as unique on the table in mysql. But when i run my query it doesn't import anything if one of the records isn't unique. What i really want is for it to import the ones it can and catch the ones it cant import to present to the user. So my question is - to acheive the above would i need to rewrite the query so that it inserts each row one at a time, instead of all together? Or can someone point me in the right direction for a better solution? Probably something very simple i've missed i am sure... Thanks chaps! |
