PHP - Store Submitted Information Into Text/php File.+o.q.

I have a 2 questions: Q1: How do you store answers from a php file(see code below) into another file?(php preferably) I know it would probably be easier using a database, but I would like to know how to do it with a text/php file. Below you can see a piece of code for a page students would go on to fill in online exercices. They would first have to input their names. These names would have to be sent to a php file called "StudentAnswers.php". As well as their answers I also have another file that is called "QandA.php" which is called on with include in the piece of code below so the students can't see the answers before they submitted their answers. Q2: But how do I complete the if code(see question marks) so the answer only shows IF(as soon as) they clicked on the submit button? I was wondering if you could help me out with a few things. I have created a registration page and it stores the information into my database. A success page then appears with some of the details they entered as a confirmation page. Unfortunately I cannot get the information to appear on the page. The information must be ordered alphabetically by the first letter of whatever is entered in the first text box. Each entry must be on its own line. Please try again!</p>"; } ?> </body> </html> If I am making a "Load more comments" button where it loads, lets say 5 more comments each time you click on it, would it be best to use php sessions to store the id of the last comment loaded? And use that to load the next 5?, continually changing the value of the session to the new id? Or is there a better way of doing this? I had been using hidden textfields to do this. I haven't really messed with PHP in like 2 years. Just little fixes on old scripts every now and then. I've been kind of in an argument with myself the past couple of days while writing a script. The thing is I only have around 3 or 4 sets of information I need. Such as: Code: [Select] option1: information for option 1 option2: information for option 2 option3: information for option 3 etc.. NOW, at first I was doing this all in a text file. This information doesn't necessarily need to be private but i also don't want people to know what file needs to be edited right off the bat. I don't see any reason at all for using databases here, I'd much rather stick to files. I'm thinking it may be best to store this is strings in a seperate PHP file and include it? Then if I need to edit it, I can simply write a new file. Any suggestions? Hey guys, I'm going to start working on a simple php/mysql project, and wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction. Here is what I want to do: 1. User is presented with a simple form asking a series of questions (including email address) 2. Based on the answers, a specific download link is emailed to the user 3. store all inputted information in the database. I'm still not sure if I want the email process to be automated, or "held" until the information is reviewed, then download link sent. Does anyone know if a script already exist for this? I want things to stay in the cart for up to 2 weeks after they're added, without the need for somebody to log-in to their account to store them. Should I store the information in a database some how and then set a cookie referencing the cart_id in the db? I'd like to edit specific parts of a submitted text what is the best way to do this? Getting the words out has been part of my previous script, using preg_match and put them in variables. I want to put the first portion of the text in a row, if 2nd, 3rd and 4th portion exist, put them in a row too. Any ideas? [edited] I prefer to have these portions cut out and put in a variable. I currently have a web page that allows a user to enter text into a form then select a "Submit Query" button; upon doing this the entered text is saved to a database and displayed for the user on the same page (the page where the form and "Submit Query" button are located). My question is as follows: I wish the results to be displayed on a new page when the "Submit Query" button is clicked, not displayed on the same page. Is this achieved through targeting? I am a bit lost at this point on how to achieve this result. What is the best way to store this data coming from the api into a csv file to later put into the db. Output: rank, level, xp, rank, level, xp, etc. This api produces about 60 rows of data per name ran and x that by about roughly 300 names that equals a lot of data. Pretty much with my current code I am pretty much creating a endless loop almost that would take a long time to execute so updating said data would be a nightmare i would think. Is there a way to accomplish the same thing without the loop or I am not sure how to go about this. My current code is a mess that much I know I am gonna be told. This code works, just not efficiently. I am thinking there may be a better way to do this.

The pdo part I was gonna include but the way I have it setup now wouldn't work. I was thinking that I would use mysql's LOAD DATA INFILE to insert the csv data to database. The end goal here is to be able to search for player stats and to use said data to keep track of xp earned during a xp competition. I PRAY that i have included enough info... The form saves the files that it creates as "entry-date-time.txt" and places it in a folder for the year and a sub folder for the month. Such as "2011\09".
