PHP - Variable From Table??
Hey,
I have a mysql table for my setups, it contains basically three fields: 'id','variable','value'. i want to create/name a variable from a result from the database and then from another field it should give the newly created variable its value The table is already filled with the variables i want to use, now i just want my index page to get the different variable out of the table with the value as its value. Is that even possible? so lets say i have a variable in my table called 'header_color' the value in that table row is 'FFF' i want my index to get all variable from the database (through a while??) with again its value as a value. This is my thought: $sql = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM setup"); while ($res = mysql_fetch_array($sql)){ $res[variable]; = $??my_variable??; $myvariable = $res[value]; } and so when i have my div for my header i want it to be <div style="background-color:#<?=$header_color?>"> resulting in <div style="background-color:#FFF> in my table under variable it has the name "header_color" and under value "FFF" maybe i need to create an array or something i have no idea. Hope you guys can help me. Similar TutorialsHello, I'm working on a PHP register form, all I want to do, is to be able to insert an extra variable into the database: Code: [Select] // now we insert it into the database $insert = " INSERT INTO users (username, password) VALUES ('".$_POST['username']."', '".$_POST['pass']."') "; $add_member = mysql_query($insert); right, so I have the username and password variable being passed. But I also want to pass a variable into a column called 'weaponAttachments', all I want for this variable to be is 5000. So, in other words, something like this: 5000['weaponAttachments'] Thanks <?php function money($amount,$separator=true,$simple=false){ return (true===$separator? (false===$simple? number_format($amount,2,'.',','): str_replace('.00','',money($amount)) ): (false===$simple? number_format($amount,2,'.',''): str_replace('.00','',money($amount,false)) ) ); } $income = 5000000000; $daily = money($income*24,true,true); $weekly = money(($income*24)*7,true,true); $monthly = money((($income*24)*7)*30,true,true); ?> </center> <center> <table border="1"> <tr> <td>Daily</td> <td><?php echo $daily ?></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Weekly</td> <td><?php echo $weekly ?></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Monthly</td> <td><?php echo $monthly ?></td> </tr> </table> </form> </center> What am I doing wrong? Im fairly new to this Hi, I'm trying to drop a table form a database using the table name as a variable. This variable is set within a session. I am using a form where you input the table name, then the DROP TABLE procedure is executed in the next page. I know that the variable gets passed because it prints the table name variable out when I "echo". The execution is simple (code found in deletetable.php) $temp = $_POST['temp']; $query = "DROP TABLE $temp"; if(mysql_query($query)){ echo "<h1 style='color:green;'>Table $temp deleted</h1>";} else{ echo "<h1 style='color:red;'>Deletion of table '$temp' failed!</h1>";} Here's my code for the two pages: delete_table.php <?php include("includes/header.html"); session_start(); $hostname = $_SESSION['hostname']; $user = $_SESSION['user']; $passwd = $_SESSION['passwd']; $database = $_SESSION['database']; $tblname = $_SESSION['table']; $conn = mysql_connect($hostname, $user, $passwd, $database); /*if(! $conn ) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); }*/ ?> <div id="container"> <div id="header">Create DB</div> <div id="breadcrumbs"> <?php function check_port($port) { $conn = @fsockopen("127.0.0.1", $port, $errno, $errstr, 0.2); if ($conn) { fclose($conn); return true; } } function server_report() { $report = array(); $svcs = array('3306'=>'MySQL'); foreach ($svcs as $port=>$service) { $report[$service] = check_port($port); } return $report; } $report = server_report(); ?> <div id="server"><p>Server is <?php echo $report['MySQL'] ? I have a database (Kingsbury) that stores a contact list. I am trying to make an page were a user can search the database by state. The code from the HTML site is: Code: [Select] <form action = "sqlllist.php" method="post"><br /> Please enter the state you would like to search: <input type="text" name="state" /><br /> <p><input type="submit" value="Enter" /></p> </form> And then from the .php file Code: [Select] <?php $DBConnect = mysql_connect("*****", "*****", "********"); if ($DBConnect===FALSE) echo "<p>Connection Failed!.</p>\n"; else { $State == $_POST['state']; $Result = mysql_select_db("Kingsbury", $DBConnect); $queryresult = @mysql_query("SELECT * FROM contacts WHERE State = $State'", $DBConnect); echo "<table width='100%' border='1'>\n"; echo "<tr><th>User ID</th> <th>First Name</th> <th>Last Name</th> <th>Address</th> <th>State</th> <th>City</th> <th>Zip Code</th> <th>Area Code</th> <th>Phone Number</th>\n"; While (($Row = mysql_fetch_row($queryresult)) !== FALSE) { echo "<tr><td>{$Row[0]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$Row[1]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$Row[2]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$Row[3]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$Row[4]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$Row[5]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$Row[6]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$Row[7]}</td>"; echo "<td>{$Row[8]}</td>"; } echo "</table>\n"; mysql_free_result($queryresult); mysql_close($DBConnect); } ?> This, to me seems like it should be working, but it outputs the entire database. I actually asked a question here yesterday and decided to try a different route with it. What I am doing is passing an email variable entered from my home page on to www.dollapal.com/offerlist.php. I'm wanting this page to be a complete list of all of my entries in my surveys table. The email variable needs to be appended to the end of every link. I got that to work, but what I want to do now is display that information for every record in my 'surveys' table. Right now I am using the random function, which I'm sure is wrong, but I'm not sure what function to be looking for. Is it possible to use a foreach function here to echo each record? If so, I'm not sure how exactly to call the foreach() function in this case. I believe my two problems lie in the random and foreach functions, but I'm not sure how to correct them. I've attached a little chunk of code that I'm working with. I'm not sure if I'm completely off base here, or if I'm close to achieving my desired result. Please let me know if you require more information. This forum has been amazing to me so far. Thank you all for your help! hi ..
hit little snag Ive got html <form name="formx" method="POST" action="connect.php" class='ajaxform'> and about 4 varibles in that form .. now how to properly
query table users so i can find out which prefix correspond with that user
Insert into table "upis" in this case that prefix with 3 variables..
everything in single,.. in this case connect.php file
I know how to do QUERY and INSERT INTO but i don't know how to connect with 2 different tbl or db and do the query and input of data.. every time I put 2 of them together .. never works out..
this is example.. i dont know is this right way to do it .. Hi - I know this is a #101 question but here goes! I simply want to select a single row from a table and use the columns fields as variables that can then be posted in a form. $result = mysql_query("SELECT * from tblquestions WHERE qid='1'"); if (!$result) { echo 'Could not run query: ' . mysql_error(); exit; } $row = mysql_fetch_row($result); $oid=$result['oid']; $qid=$result['qid']; $question=$result['question']; The code above isn't working - as when I try to echo each variable <?php echo $question;?> nothing is being shown on screen. I'm obviously barking up the wrong tree in the way I'm trying to create the variable - but don't really have any idea where to look next. This topic has used a waypoint to get to MySQL Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=359489.0 How do I like it, you ask? Quite well. Besides the downtime Tuesday I haven't had any server problems, and the game itself is great. Very D2-esque but with very noticeable enhancements.

I've tried to find a way to convert this data into readable format, ideally in a HTML table, but although there are articles on converting manually inputted JSON data into a HTML table using Javascript, I can't find a way to do it from a PHP variable. This is what I have so far: if ($_POST['getcompany']) { $companyname = $_POST['_Name']; $ch = curl_init(); $data_array2 = array( 'token' => $token ); $make_call2 = json_encode($data_array2); //echo 'Token is '.$token; $token2 = substr($token, 14); $token3 = substr($token2, 0, -3); //echo 'Token 2 is '.$token3; //echo 'Company Name is '.$companyname; //curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_GET, 1); //curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $make_call2); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array('Content-Type: application/json','Authorization: '.$token3.'')); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'https://connectionurl?countries=GB&name='.$companyname); //Execute the request $result = curl_exec($ch); echo 'Companies: '.$result; //This displays the data provided by the search, but is in JSON format
So I need a way to get the data held in $result, into a HTML table. Any idea how I can do this? Hello all. I am very new to PHP, and I am not sure where to look or what I'm looking for in my current assignment. My task is to take in two numbers between 0-100. Once I take in that number, it should state beside it "The __ was accepted." The program should not accept any numbers greater than 100 or any characters. Once I do this, I must take a second number and do a similar thing. Finally, I must have a statement show up at the bottom stating which number is greater. Essentially, I need help in determining what I should use to place parameters, and how I can keep the program from echo ing any statement until input has been taken and tested for parameters. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated! I am trying to allow the user to update a variable he chooses by radio buttons, which they will then input text into a box, and submit, to change some attributes. I really need some help here. It works just fine until I add the second layer of variables on top of it, and I can't find the answer to this question anywhere. <?PHP require('connect.php'); ?> <form action ='' method='post'> <select name="id"> <?php $extract = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM cars"); while($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($extract)){ $id = $row['id']; $make= $row['make']; $model= $row['model']; $year= $row['year']; $color= $row['color']; echo "<option value=$id>$color $year $make $model</option> ";}?> </select> Which attribute would you like to change?<br /> <input type="radio" name="getchanged" value="make"/>Make<br /> <input type="radio" name="getchanged" value="model"/>Model<br /> <input type="radio" name="getchanged" value="year" />Year<br /> <input type="radio" name="getchanged" value="color" />Color<br /><br /> <br /><input type='text' value='' name='tochange'> <input type='submit' value='Change' name='submit'> </form> //This is where I need help... <?PHP if(isset($_POST['submit'])&&($_POST['tochange'])){ mysql_query(" UPDATE cars SET '$_POST[getchanged]'='$_POST[tochange]' where id = '$_POST[id]' ");}?> My login script stores the user's login name as $_SESSION[ 'name'] on login. I can't seem to figure out why this might not be working. The code I'm using: <?php session_start(); function verify() { //verify that the user is logged in via the login page. I have just re-installed Xampp and suddenly my sites are now displaying lots of: Notice: Use of undefined constant name - assumed 'name' in ... Notice: Use of undefined constant price - assumed 'price' in ... this is an example of the line its refering too: $defineProducts[1001] = array(name=>'This is a product', price=>123); I have a form that creates rows of data input textboxes depending on a user input number of things. I have a naming convention for all these textboxes that basically just keeps incrementing a number suffix for each row. All this is working fine. My problem is I need to get the data inserted into this table of textboxes into an array. Here's my code where I attempt to to this (it does not work): Code: [Select] $temp = $_SESSION['Num_Part']; $count = 1; while ($count <= $temp){ $temp2[$count] = "'Participant_P".$count."'"; //echo $temp2[$count]."<br/>"; $temp3[$count]=$_POST[$temp2[$count]]; //here's the problem $temp4[$count] = "'Result_P".$count."'"; $temp5[$count]=$_POST[$temp4[$count]]; //here's the problem //echo $temp4[$count]."<br/>"; $count++; } The problem is that the $_POST does not work with the variable in the argument position - even though the argument is formatted with single quotes. Can a variable be used in a POST argument and if so what is the correct syntax? If not, is there some other simple solution to harvest the data into an array. I understand I can harvest by explicitly accessing each key in the post assoc array. But this could be dozens of rows of input fields. Thanks in advance for your help here. I couldn't find anything online re this topic. |
