PHP - Populating Radio Button With $_session Data
The below should choose the radio button that is set by the $_SESSION variable or default to 3. However, it's defaulting to 1.
Code: [Select] $content.=' <p class="form_item"><label>Product Rating:</label><br /> <div class="rating_radio"><input type="radio" name="review_product_rating" value="1"'; if(isset($review_product_rating) && $review_product_rating=="1"){$content.='checked';} $content.=' /> <br />1</div> <div class="rating_radio"><input type="radio" name="review_product_rating" value="2"'; if(isset($review_product_rating) && $review_product_rating=="2"){$content.='checked';} $content.=' /> <br />2</div> <div class="rating_radio"><input type="radio" name="review_product_rating" value="3"'; if(isset($review_product_rating) && $review_product_rating=="3" || !isset($review_product_rating)){$content.='checked';} $content.=' /> <br />3</div> <div class="rating_radio"><input type="radio" name="review_product_rating" value="4"'; if(isset($review_product_rating) && $review_product_rating=="4"){$content.='checked';} $content.=' /> <br />4</div> <div class="rating_radio"><input type="radio" name="review_product_rating" value="5"'; if(isset($review_product_rating) && $review_product_rating=="5"){$content.='checked';} $content.=' /> <br />5</div> <div class="worst">(Worst)</div><div class="best">(Best)</div> </p> I'm figuring it's because it's multiple if statement (with no elseif) so it's evaluating the first if and being set to true. I tried changing everything else after the first one to elseif, and it's throwing an unexpected T_ELSEIF error. Similar TutorialsHi people,
I'm new to PHP, and I'm having some real difficulties with trying to re-populate a radio button selection on a form.
Basically, I'm working on a WordPress plugin which uses custom fields to create a Bet custom post type.
I need to have my form submit the user input, then re-populate it so that if the user wants to edit and update the Bet data, they don't have to fill in the whole form details again, they can just edit what they need to, and update (re-submit) the form.
I've managed to get all of the form elements re-populating, apart from a radio button. I've been trawling round the internet for most of yesterday evening and this morning, trying different things, but nothing I've found works for me.
I'd really appreciate some help if anyone knows how to do this.
Here's my code so far (non working)
<?php I have page with male female radio button Here's the code Code: [Select] $qry=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM reg_table where id=$id "); $res=mysql_fetch_array($qry); $radio = $res['gender']; switch($radio) { case "male": $mal = "checked"; break; case "female": $fem = "checked"; break; } Code: [Select] Gender: <br /> <input type="radio" name="colour" value="male" checked="<?php $mal; ?>" />Male <input type="radio" name="colour" value="female" checked="<?php $fem; ?>" />Female Whats the use of checked in <input type="radio" name="colour" value="male" checked="<?php $mal; ?>" /> I'm in the process of making a network for investors and entrepreneurs. When they access their profile page, select edit and go to editprofile.php a problem arises with the data base submission. I have the data they have previously inputted being echoed back out to the user. This lets the user see what they have inputted so that they can make changes to their profile. Unfortunately, with my radio buttons, if no changes are made and the user hits submit, the radio buttons return a value of 'unchecked'. I need them to maintain the value previously submitted to the database if the radio button isn't 'checked'. I'm not sure exactly how to do this. You can test it out yourself by going to http://network.jasonbiondo.com Code is below: Code: [Select] ?php session_start(); require ('connect.php'); include ('header.php'); $savechanges = $_POST['savechanges']; $firstname = strip_tags($_POST['firstname']); $lastname = strip_tags($_POST['lastname']); $username = strtolower(strip_tags($_POST['username'])); $email = strip_tags($_POST['email']); $password = strip_tags($_POST['password']); $repeatpassword = strip_tags($_POST['repeatpassword']); $entrepreneur = 'unchecked'; $investor = 'unchecked'; $date = date("Y-m-d"); $companyname = strip_tags($_POST['companyname']); $companywebsite = strip_tags($_POST['companywebsite']); $founder = strip_tags($_POST['founder']); $phone = strip_tags($_POST['phone']); $address = strip_tags($_POST['address']); $city = strip_tags($_POST['city']); $state = strip_tags($_POST['state']); $zipcode = strip_tags($_POST['zipcode']); $country = strip_tags($_POST['country']); $development = strip_tags($_POST['development']); $capitalamount = strip_tags($_POST['capitalamount']); $companydo = strip_tags($_POST['companydo']); $founderbuilt = strip_tags($_POST['founderbuilt']); $whatsnew = strip_tags($_POST['whatsnew']); $understand = strip_tags($_POST['understand']); $competition = strip_tags($_POST['competition']); $money = strip_tags($_POST['money']); $demo = strip_tags($_POST['demo']); $incorporation = strip_tags($_POST['incorporation']); $companynameinv = strip_tags($_POST['companynameinv']); $phoneinv = strip_tags($_POST['phoneinv']); $addressinv = strip_tags($_POST['addressinv']); $cityinv = strip_tags($_POST['cityinv']); $stateinv = strip_tags($_POST['stateinv']); $zipcodeinv = strip_tags($_POST['zipcodeinv']); $countryinv = strip_tags($_POST['countryinv']); $angel = strip_tags($_POST['angel']); $vc = strip_tags($_POST['vc']); $capital = strip_tags($_POST['capital']); if ($savechanges) { $queryreg = mysql_query("UPDATE users SET `firstname` = '$firstname', `lastname` = '$lastname', `email` = '$email', `entrepreneur` = '$entrepreneur', `investor` = '$investor', `companyname` = '$companyname', `companywebsite` = '$companywebsite', `founder` = '$founder', `phone` = '$phone', `address` = '$address', `city` = '$city', `state` = '$state', `zipcode` = '$zipcode', `country` = '$country', `development` = '$development', `capitalamount` = '$capitalamount', `companydo` ='$companydo', `founderbuilt` = '$founderbuilt', `whatsnew` = '$whatsnew', `understand` = '$understand', `competition` = '$competition', `money` = '$money', `demo` = '$demo', `incorporation` = '$incorporation', `companynameinv` = '$companynameinv', `phoneinv` = '$phoneinv', `addressinv` = '$addressinv', `cityinv` = '$cityinv', `stateinv` = '$stateinv', `zipcodeinv` = '$zipcodeinv', `countryinv` = '$countryinv', `angel` = '$angel', `vc` = '$vc', `capital` = '$capital' WHERE username= '" . $_SESSION['username'] . And also a link that links to a cart.html that takes the values of a $_SESSION variable. I am have trouble figuring what tag/attribute should I use in order to achieve that.
Right now my code attached below submits the checked values to cart.html directly. However I want my submit button to save the checked box to a $_SESSION variable and STAY on the same page. And then I will implement a <a> to link to the cart.php.
I researched a little bit about this subject and I know it's somewhat related to ajax/jquery. I just wanted to know more about it from you guys. I appreciate your attention for reading the post and Thanks!
Below is the form that I currently have:
<form name= "finalForm" method="POST" action="cart.php"> <input type="Submit" name="finalSelected"/> <?php foreach($FinalName as $key => $item) {?> <tr> <td><input type="checkbox" name="fSelected[]" value="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($FinalID[$key])?>" /> <?php echo "$FinalID[$key] & $item";?> </td> </tr> <?php } ;?>Below is the code for cart.php <?php require ('connect_db.php'); if(isset($_POST['finalSelected'])) { if(!empty($_POST['fSelected'])) { $chosen = $_POST['fSelected']; foreach ($chosen as $item) echo "aID selected: $item </br>"; $delimit = implode(", ", $chosen); print_r($delimit); } } if(isset($delimit)) { $cartSQL = "SELECT * from article where aID in ($delimit)"; $cartQuery = mysqli_query($dbc, $cartSQL) or die (mysqli_error($dbc)); while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($cartQuery, MYSQLI_BOTH)) { $aTitle[] = $row[ 'name' ]; } } ?> <table> <?php if(isset($delimit)) { $c=0; foreach($aTitle as $item) {?> <tr> <td> <?php echo $aTitle[$c]; $c++;?> </td> </tr> <?php }}?> </table> Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to run a mysqldump from my site for my client when they want to back up. They basically will jsut click a button to run the backup. With my script below, the backup file is genrated, but there is no table data in the file. There are the headers in the file with the server IP, linux versin, etc..., but there is no data in the file. Does this look right? Thank you for helping me out. Ryan Code: [Select] ini_set ("display_errors", "1"); error_reporting(E_ALL); $dbhost = 'localhost'; $dbuser = 'databaseuser'; $dbpass = 'password'; $conn = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) or die ('Error connecting to mysql'); $dbname = 'database'; mysql_select_db($dbname); $tableName = 'lots'; $backupFile1 = '/home/stuff/wwwroot/stuff/appnew/backup/'; $backupFile = $backupFile1.$dbname . date("Y-m-d-H-i-s") . '.gz'; $command = "mysqldump --opt -h$dbhost -u$dbuser -p$dbpass $dbname | gzip > $backupFile"; system($command); $result = mysql_query($command); Alright so I created a MySQL database that has 5 tables each named a brand of a dirt bike. In each table their are 2 fields, one INDEX_ID and MODELS. Under that for rows I have every model bike named. A quick question before I get onto what I want to do: Can data be added underneath the rows? For example, users will be able to submit information about each bike model. If each bike model is a row, can there be a category past that row or do I need to make each field a model name and just have a ton of fields and have the rows be the information users submit. To make it easier to understand I'll post the SQL code for the brand Honda: CREATE TABLE `Honda` ( `INDEX_ID` int(3) NOT NULL auto_increment, `MODELS` varchar(20) collate latin1_general_ci NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`INDEX_ID`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 COLLATE=latin1_general_ci AUTO_INCREMENT=23 ; -- -- Dumping data for table `Honda` -- INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(1, 'CR85'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(2, 'CR125'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(3, 'CR250'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(4, 'CRF100'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(5, 'CRF150'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(6, 'CRF230'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(7, 'CRF250X'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(8, 'CRF250R'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(9, 'CRF450X'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(10, 'CRF450R'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(11, 'CRF50'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(12, 'CRF70'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(13, 'CRF80'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(14, 'XR650'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(15, 'CR500'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(16, 'XR100'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(17, 'XR200'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(18, 'XR250'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(19, 'XR400'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(20, 'XR50'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(21, 'XR70'); INSERT INTO `Honda` VALUES(22, 'XR80'); Anyway I still need to figure out how to have this under a form that a user can use to select the bike they want to submit information about. A code like this perhaps?: <? $connection = mysql_connect("localhost","user","pass"); $fields = mysql_list_fields("dbname", "table", $connection); $columns = mysql_num_fields($fields); echo "<form action=page_to_post_to.php method=POST><select name=Field>"; for ($i = 0; $i < $columns; $i++) { echo "<option value=$i>"; echo mysql_field_name($fields, $i); } echo "</select></form>"; ?> Thanks. Hi I making some forms that write to mysql database, Im now in the process of making the update form so the user can update there details on the form, I want it to populate the form with existing data but its not doing it at all. Thanks in advance

The outputted error message I'm getting is; Notice: Undefined index: userid ...\...\ Notice: Undefined variable: userid in ...\...\ The PHP code I'm using for the validation Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); //must call session_start before using any $_SESSION variables $username = $_POST['username']; $password = $_POST['password']; $userid = $_POST['userid']; //validating a user function validateUser() { session_regenerate_id (); //this is a security measure $_SESSION['valid'] = 1; $_SESSION['userid'] = $userid; } Let me know if you need any other bits of code to establish what is happening I really need help with this. Thanks. I'm trying to add voucher codes to my shopping basket. When someone submits a voucher code it adds ?vouchercode=WHATEVERTHECODE to the URL. I then $_GET this data and store is as $_SESSION['vouchercode']. The problem is, on the next page it $_GET's the ?vouchercode again, which is this time blank, and sets the session to blank as well. Any help? Here's my code: Code: [Select] $vouchercode = $_GET['vouchercode']; $_SESSION['vouchercode'] = $vouchercode; if ($rows['brand'] == 'Dank' AND $_SESSION['vouchercode'] == 'DANKINT') { echo 'Voucher Code DANKINT Used'; } So I am trying to make a page which creates a house as determined by a player. The house is a row in a mySQL table with a field for the house ruler, which should be a number matching the ID of the player that created the house. Whenever I attempt to create a house no data is entered into the table. When I turned on all error reporting it told me that user_id was an invalid index and when I replaced it with an integer the data was entered into the table.
Here is the code to insert the data into the table. // write new house data into database Hi all, I hope someone can help me out here as I think I am close but am not sure where to go from here. The problem is: I have a cms where a user can see a list of photos in the gallery. I provide them the ability to select what photos they want to appear on a particular webpage. The problem I have is that the user wants to be able to put the photos in whatever order they choose. So, I have a form (see attached), the html code is: <table width="566px" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr> <td width="33%"> <div class="serviceCell"> <input type='checkbox' checked='checked' name='photos[][0]' value='119' /> Bathroom Sin... <img src="./images/help.gif" title="Enter an integer to signify the order in which this image will appear on the webpage." alt="Enter an integer to signify the order in which this image will appear on the webpage."/> <input type="text" size="2" name="photos[][1]" value="0"/> </div> </td> <td width="33%"> <div class="serviceCell"> <input type='checkbox' checked='checked' name='photos[][0]' value='113' /> Courtyard 1 <img src="./images/help.gif" title="Enter an integer to signify the order in which this image will appear on the webpage." alt="Enter an integer to signify the order in which this image will appear on the webpage."/> <input type="text" size="2" name="photos[][1]" value="0"/> </div> </td> <td width="33%"> <div class="serviceCell"> <input type='checkbox' name='photos[][0]' value='114' /> Courtyard 2 <img src="./images/help.gif" title="Enter an integer to signify the order in which this image will appear on the webpage." alt="Enter an integer to signify the order in which this image will appear on the webpage."/> <input type="text" size="2" name="photos[][1]" value=""/> </div> </td> </tr>... Now, lets assume that the user ticked the box next to 'Courtyard 2' and entered an integer '1' in the input box to signify that this image should be displayed 1st on the chosen webpage. These 2 values go into the multidimensional array (photoid, ranking) and are submitted in the form to php in the photos[][] array. But here is where I have the problem. I am trying to extract the values from the array and then do an insert to a table in mysql. My syntax must be wrong somewhere so I am asking anyone to please offer any advice: if (isset($_REQUEST['submitted'])){ $photos = $_REQUEST['photos']; ... if(!empty($photos)){ foreach($photos as $photoID){ $sql = "INSERT IGNORE INTO menuItemPhotos SET photoid='$photoID[0]', menuItemid='$id', ranking='$photoID[1]'"; $ok = @mysql_query($sql); // execute the query } // End of foreach($photos as $photoID){ } // End of if(!empty($photos)){ Thanks Conor [attachment deleted by admin] Hi folks, I have an initial redirect page which directs to my main page, sending two reference variables as $_GET parameters: Code: [Select] header("Location: /ob/index.php?id=".$id."&ref=".$ref); The first thing this main page does is include a file which checks for those two values: Code: [Select] if (substr_count($_SERVER['HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING'], 'gzip')) ob_start("ob_gzhandler"); else ob_start(); session_start(); error_reporting(E_ALL); if (isset($_GET['id']) && isset($_GET['ref'])){ $_SESSION['id'] = $_GET['id']; $_SESSION['ref'] = $_GET['ref']; } if(!isset($_SESSION['id']) || $_SESSION['id']=="" || !isset($_SESSION['ref']) || $_SESSION['ref']==""){ echo ("This service requires a valid ID to run - your session may have expired, please refresh your browser to try again."); exit; } The main page loads fine - meaning that the $_SESSION variables have been set correctly. However, when the next page loads (including the same file), the $_GET values obviously aren't there but the $_SESSION variables should be intact. I am getting fails every time though in Opera and Safari (have checked in IE, FF and Chrome and all seems well). However, if I then refresh the browser - in both Opera and Safari - the next page loads fine and the $_SESSION variables are correctly set. Any ideas on this at all? Many thanks in advance, Rich hey gang: i have a number of variables stored in the $_SESSION array and wanted to know how i can keep them handy for use AFTER PayPal has done it's thing. to help clarify, the desired process here is client fills out form. clicks PayPal button. form data is then used to create some documents which are then sent to client. i have the flow working but without the PayPal part because i'm not sure how to preserve the form data while PayPal does it's thing so i can use it when PayPal is done. am i making sense? i'd like to steer away from client-side cookies because of security issues and our paranoid client insists on it... bah. first the JSON shuffle from JavaScript to PHP and now this PayPal mess. any help is MOST welcome. TIA! WR! I'm building a php program that registers users onto a website. With the help of people from this thread http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=332260.15 I was able to accomplish the goal and now the signup works with conditions that check for a valid email, and if the password is strong enough. T he program correctly displays the the problem when a user does NOT enter a valid email, or a strong enough password, but the user has to re-enter the email and password everytime. I want to make it so that the fields remained populated with what the user entered previously, so he or she does not have to re-enter his or her email/password. Since the intended user could do this at any time before completing a transaction, I don't actually get a chance to destroy the session this only happens if they complete payment for their order via.. Code: [Select] session_destroy(); $conn->commit(); $conn->autocommit(TRUE); In an attempt to clean up I tried various combinations at the top of the start page "index.php".. Code: [Select] session_start(); // $_SESSION = array(); session_destroy($_SESSION['cart']); session_destroy($_SESSION['address']); // $_SESSION['cart'] = array(); // $_SESSION['address'] = array(); // session_destroy(); Can anyone please shed any light on this behaviour difference? First let me explain my code. This is later included in project_status.php] . In project_status.php] , I have included another file project_status_app.php which contains a HTML form.
<?php include 'inc_fn_header_and_menu.php'; function includeFile($file,$variable) { $var = $variable; include($file); } if (isset($_GET['id']) && $_GET['id']!="") { $pid = $_GET['id']; $_SESSION['pidForApproval'] = $_GET['id']; $query = 'SELECT * FROM `profile` WHERE pid ='.'\''.$pid.'\''; $result=mysqli_query($db,$queryToRetrievePP) or die("There are no records to display ... \n" . mysqli_error()); foreach ($result as $row) { $status = $row['status']; } } ...........some PHP and HTML code....... <div id="customerPurchaseApprovalForm"> <?php echo '<p>APPROVAL FOR CUSTOMER PURCHASE</p>'; $discountApprovalStatus = "Granted"; if ($discountApprovalStatus == "Granted") { includeFile("project_status_app.php",$highestannualvalue); } else { //......... } In project_status_app.php I am attempting to retrieve pidForApproval from the $_SESSION array. <?php // put your code here UPDATE `pp` SET `customer_purchase_remarks` = 'hahaha' WHERE `pp`.`id` = 207; if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == 'POST') { include '../../inc/fastlogin.php'; $sql = "UPDATE pp SET customer_purchase_remarks ='{$_POST['remarkstxt']}' WHERE pp.pid='{$_SESSION['pidForApproval']}'"; $result = mysqli_query ( $fastdb, $sql ) ; if (mysqli_affected_rows($fastdb) != 1) { $_SESSION['err_cpa_rmks'] = "<p>Error while updating WHERE id='{$_SESSION['pidForApproval']}'</p>"; //echo "<p>Error while updating WHERE id='{$_POST['pidForApproval']}'</p>".mysqli_error($fastdb); } else { $_SESSION['suc_cpa_rmks'] = "<p>Records was updated successfully.</p>"; //echo "Records was updated successfully."; } header ("location: project_status.php?id="$_SESSION['pidForApproval']); exit(); } ?> When I load project_status.php, project_status_app.php is supposed to display the form. Once the user fills in the form the and the submit button has been pressed, the UPDATE statement is supposed to run and then it is supposed to navigate back to project_status.php?id=FA142. But the update is failing and the when the project_status.php is loaded back, the url looks like this http://localhost/fast/project_status.php?id= . The id is empty. It is supposed to be something like this http://localhost/fast/project_status.php?id=FA142. With the id being populated at the header ("location: project_status.php?id=".$_SESSION['pidForApproval']);
Missing some information. I have a function to display some images and allow a user to select a choice via a radio button.The value is then passed to another function. I have 2 problems My selection is not being passed back and I cant assign the value to a query sring in a link to another page. On the form do i need to add checked? Any help appreciated. Code: [Select] function cover() { echo'<h2>Please upload your book cover or choose one from the selection</h2> <p>All book ideas require a cover. Your choice can be changed at a later date.</p>'; //process selection of cover if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { $coverID=$_POST['cover']; echo $coverID; ?>   <ul><li class="demo-menu-link"><a href="?page=submenu7&coverID=$coverID">Finnished Cover</a></li></ul><?php exit(); } else{ echo "not Submitted"; } global $wpdb; $query = "select * from wp_cover"; $result = mysql_query($query) or trigger_error("Query: $query\n<br />MySQL Error: " . mysql_error()); echo mysql_error(); if (!$result){ return false; } echo'<div class="wrap"><p>choose from one of the covers below</p></div>'; ?><form action="<?php $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] ?>" method="POST" id="cover" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <table><tr><?php /* display picture and radio button */ while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { $coverID=$row['coverID']; echo"<img src=\"/wordpress_3/wp-content/plugins/Authors2/jackets/{$row['pix']}\" />"; echo"<td>"; echo $coverID; echo "<Input type = 'Radio' Name ='cover' value= '$coverID'/>"; ?> </tr></table> <input type=submit value=submit> </form><?php } } What am I doing wrong with this selected radio button? <form action="Process/privacy.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" id="privacy"> <div id="privacy_vis">Your profile is visible to:</div> <div id="privacy_select"> <label> <input name="RadioGroup1" type="radio" id="RadioGroup1_0" value="1" <?if($visible=="1")echo 'checked="checked"';?> /> Everyone</label> <label> <input name="RadioGroup1" type="radio" id="RadioGroup1_1" value="0"/> Members Only</label> </div> <br /> <div id="privacy_vis">Your Password to view your private pictures is:</div> <div> <input name="pictures_pw" type="text" id="pictures_pw" value="<? echo "$xxx_pw" ?>" size="50" maxlength="20" /> </div> <br /> <div> <input name="submit" type="submit" class="button" id="submit" value="Save Changes" /> </div> </form> </div> |
