I write above code to display top 5 rows from the database but it not works properly. It displays first row 5 times which is undesireable. Anyone please help????????????????? thanks in advance.................. Similar Tutorialsi have 8 division (div), i want to display 4 rows in 4 division and the remain 4 rows in the next 4 division here is my code structure for carousel

CREATE TABLE product( php code
<?php how can i echo that result in those rows
Morning I have a table with many rows. Some of these rows have the same id number. I'm wondering how I print all the rows with the like id like so programing, design, help. My fucntion is below. function getPostTags($postid){ $sql = mysql_query("SELECT tag FROM tags WHERE id=$postid") or die(mysql_error()); if (mysql_num_rows($e)){ extract(mysql_fetch_array($sql)); $tags[$postid]=array(); $tags[$postid]['tag']; } return $tags; } So if I do this <?php print $tags; ?> It only prints out one result from my table. What do I have to do it get it to print all row field values from the table with a comma. Right now the only way I can do this is instead of printing "$tags" (which only gives me one of the many values) I query the database again and do a while statement with $row = mysql_fetch_array. This isn't the right way to do it. Can someone help or give me some pointers? Thanks for the help. I have a mysql table that holds data for cars - each car has it's own ID, name, and year. Some cars are repeated. Example: (ID - year - car name) 0001 - 2009 - Honda Civic 0002 - 2008 - Toyota Prius 0003 - 2009 - Honda Civic 0004 - 2008 - Toyota Prius 0005 - 2008 - Toyota Prius 0006 - 2007 - Honda Civic How would I count how many of the same type of cars I have in that table and then display the quantity next to the car name? Like for the above example it would be: 2009 Honda Civic: 2 2007 Honda Civic: 1 2008 Toyota Prius: 3 Thanks in advance for any help :D Hey guys! I've been having trouble with this all day. I'm wanting to display my results in rows. Like, 4 results in 1 row, then another 4, then another 4, etc. like this: IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE I'm nto sure how to do that. I want to display pictures. Here is my code for the page: bag.php: Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); include("config536.php"); ?> <html> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" /> </head> <?php if(!isset($_SESSION['username'])) { echo "<ubar><a href=login.php>Login</a> or <a href=register.php>Register</a></ubar><content><center><font size=6>Error!</font><br><br>You are not Logged In! It's just I'm not sure how to display them the way I want them. Right now they are displayed like this: IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you! hii everyone how to add the values of rows in a database.... I have added the code of my database table Code: [Select] CREATE TABLE `users` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `username` varchar(50) NOT NULL, `money` int(11) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=23 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8; And i have some rows like (1,peter, $94) (2,John,$16) .... .... .... .... .... i want to add those values (i.e their money) and shows like [ total money = $110]... I have done few queries like Code: [Select] SELECT id,SUM(money) FROM usersand Code: [Select] mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `users` SUM `money` WHERE id='$id'");But nothing seems to work out... Any help guysss.... Thanks in advance... Sorry if this belongs in the MySQL section. I figured it might be more of a PHP thing. I have a database where rows each have a number, which is used to determine what order they appear in on my PHP page. But right now they aren't like 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. They are a little jumbled because of deleting some and changing some, so they're more like 1, 3, 7, etc. Is there a way to make them 1, 2, 3, 4 with PHP? Like, put them in order and number them accordingly? Thanks. I'm trying to delete rows in the database, based on what checkboxes are left empty by the user... What i have is small application in which a user can add an item to the database and give it tags... for example there is "apple" and it has the tags of "fruit, red, round" What i want is for the user to be able to edit those tags, so the user can remove "fruit" and add "sweet" instead or just remove "fruit" all at the same time. The code i have, somewhat works... This code below loops through the checkboxes and should remove the items that are no longer checked, by going through the database and grabbing all the tags and them checking it against those that are still checked and remove the ones that it didn't find checked...?? However whats happening is when i unchecked say "red" it removes all the other items..so if i had "red, fruit, round' and i want to remove "red" it leaves red but removes the rest. foreach($_POST['tag'] as $r=>$n){ $t = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['tag'][$r]); $get_tag2 = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM file_cats WHERE fileID='$fileID'") or die(mysql_error()); while($t2 = mysql_fetch_assoc($get_tag2)){ $tmp_tag1 = $t2['category']; if($t==$tmp_tag1){ $remove_tag = mysql_query("DELETE FROM file_cats WHERE fileID='$fileID' AND category='$t' LIMIT 1") or die(mysql_error()); } } } This following piece of code just adds a new tag...however i want it to check to see if that tags already exist in the database, if it does then don't add it just add the new ones.. foreach($_POST['tag'] as $k=>$l){ $tag = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['tag'][$k]); $add_tag = mysql_query("INSERT into file_cats (fileID, category) VALUES('$fileID', '$tag')") or die(mysql_error()); } My final problem is that i can't remove items if the second snippet of code is there, i have to remove those lines of code in order to remove items, however i can add items with both loops there. I'm basically stuck and hope that someone here can shed some light on what i'm doing wrong, because i know i'm doing something wrong i just can't find it Anyway thank you in advanced I can't seem to get the math right! I have a function, pulling 13 states (canadian provinces) from the database and I can't seem to get them all to show in 5 columns. Where am I doing this wrong. The code below only shows 7 of 13... I just can't seem to get where I am off! I can update the records, but i can't figure out how to remove records at the same time. I've posted the code that i'm using to update below foreach($_POST['tag'] as $k=>$l){ $tag = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['tag'][$k]); $check_tags = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM file_cats WHERE category='$tag'") or die(mysql_error()); $num_tags = mysql_num_rows($check_tags); if($num_tags==0){ $add_tag = mysql_query("INSERT into file_cats (fileID, category) VALUES('$fileID', '$tag')") or die(mysql_error()); } } This code inserts new records based on what the user checked. If it exist it won't add a new row, if it doesn't exist then it will add a new row. but like i said how can remove a row if the box is no longer checked? I've tried using foreach(empty($_POST['tag'] as $k => $l){ $tag = empty($_POST['tag']['$k']; } But that didn't work basically nothing was deleted. Has anyone done something like this before? if so i would appreciate any help you could give Hey I'm trying to check a row in my database to see if its empty but this isnt working $usercheck = mysql_query("SELECT pet FROM users where name='$user'"); $returned_rows = mysql_num_rows($usercheck); if ($returned_rows == 0){ // do stuff if no pet }else{ echo 'There was ' . $returned_rows . ' records found.'; } The problem is its not checking the row pet its just checking to see if anything exists my database has id name pet 1 joe <empty> its just seeing joe and echoing "there was 1 record found" instead of seeing that the row pet is empty. thanks for the help Hello everyone,
I new to the php world and I'm only working with it for 5 days now. So I'm a noob
But I've got a good start atm, I already could connect a database with my webpage and show all my coloms I need.
Now I got a problem with the fact, my database is way to big to display on 1 page. To much load-time, so that's the reason why I want to split up all my products.
20 for each page, like in this tutorial: http://www.phpjabber...hp25.html?err=1
I think I'm almost there, my problem is that when I click on the number from the next page (like nr 5), it doesn't show my next 20 products.
But when I look to the url, that seems ok, because I get something like this; index.php?page=1
Can someone help me to find out, what I did wrong? And plz, remember, if you give me an answer, plz keep it short and simple. I'm a noob at this.
This is my code:
<?php include('connect-mysql.php'); if (!empty($_GET["page"])) { $page = $_GET["page"]; } else { $page=1; }; $start_from = ($page-1) * 20; $sqlget = "SELECT * FROM artikel, images LIMIT 0, 20 "; $sqldata = mysqli_query($dbcon, $sqlget) or die('error getting'); echo "<table>"; echo "<tr><th>A_ARTCODE</th><th>A_NUMMER</th><th>A_OMSCHRN</th><th>A_REFLEV</th><th>A_WINKEL</th><th>I_ARTCODE</th><th>I_FILE</th></tr>"; while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($sqldata)){ echo "<tr><td align='right'>"; echo $row['A_ARTCODE']; echo "</td><td align='left'>"; echo $row['A_NUMMER']; echo "</td><td align='left'>"; echo $row['A_OMSCHRN']; echo "</td><td align='left'>"; echo $row['A_REFLEV']; echo "</td><td align='right'>"; echo $row['A_WINKEL']; echo "</td><td align='right'>"; echo $row['I_ARTCODE']; echo "</td><td align='right'>"; echo $row['I_FILE']; //echo "<img src='000000-001000".$row['I_ID']."' />"; echo "</td></tr>"; } echo "</table>"; $sql = "SELECT COUNT(A_ARTCODE) FROM artikel"; $rs_result = mysqli_query($dbcon, $sql) or die ("mysqli query dies"); $row = mysqli_fetch_row($rs_result) or die ("mysqli fetch row dies"); $total_records = $row[0]; $total_pages = ceil($total_records / 20); for ($i=1; $i<=$total_pages; $i++) { echo "<a href='index.php?page=".$i."'>".$i."</a> "; }; ?>I hope someone can help me. Edited by GetAWeapon, 03 June 2014 - 07:25 AM. Hi Guys! Trying to display data in 3 rows horizontally and 25 vertiacally Code: [Select] // Print out result while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ echo "There are ". $row['COUNT(biddersId)'] ." bidders logged."; echo "<br />"; } $query = "SELECT * FROM bidders ORDER BY biddersId"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); echo "<table border='1'>"; echo "<tr> <th>Bidders</th>"; // keeps getting the next row until there are no more to get while($row = mysql_fetch_array( $result )) { // Print out the contents of each row into a table echo "<tr><td>"; echo"<font face= \"calibri\" size=\"3\">"; echo $row['biddersId']; echo "</br>"; echo "</td><td>"; } echo "</table>"; ?> I've got my code working OK in that the correct results are drawn from the database. What I have here in the code is an array consisting of an image, accompanied by its title and thirdly a link to activate a quiz associated with the image. Everything works fine, except because the page is dynamic, I always have an unknown number of sets of data (image, title and link) which I want to display so that each set of data takes up a new row. The code I have here, while displaying the correct data, places all of the results into the same row. Any suggestions are most welcome. Code: [Select] <?php // Query the database $query1 = mysql_query("SELECT title FROM topics WHERE managerId='".$managerId."' AND egroup1='"."1"."' ORDER BY title ASC"); $query2 = mysql_query("SELECT url_small FROM topics WHERE managerId='".$managerId."' AND egroup1='"."1"."' ORDER BY title ASC"); $query3 = mysql_query("SELECT title FROM topics WHERE managerId='".$managerId."' AND egroup1='"."1"."' ORDER BY title ASC"); while($row1 = mysql_fetch_array($query3)) { $linkname .= $row1['title']."<br />\n"; } ?> <table> <tr> <td> <?php while ($row2 = mysql_fetch_array($query2)) { $thumbnail.= $row2['url_small']; echo "<img src='wood_tool_images/{$row2['url_small']}' alt='' /><br />\n"; } ?> </td> <td height="200"> <?php echo $linkname ?> </td> <td> <?php while ($row1 = mysql_fetch_array($query1)) { $quizname.= $row1['title']; echo "<a href='../{$row1['title']} Safety Quiz/{$row1['title']} Safety Quiz.php'>Take This Quiz</a><br />\n"; } ?> </td> </tr> </table> i'm trying to echo out the results from a query onto a page, but rather than having them echo out as rows in a table, i want them to be displayed in columns, i.e. first column would have the first 10 results and the second column would have the next to. Any ideas on how i could do this? at the moment i'm using this code to display my results $read=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM entry WHERE category_id=".$id." ORDER BY entry_title") or die("query failed".mysql_error()); $result=mysql_num_rows($read); for($j = 0; $j < $result; $j++) { $row = mysql_fetch_array($read); echo "<a href=article.php?id=".$row['entry_id']. ">".$row['entry_title']."</a><br />"; } but this just displays it as a list down the middle thanks I'm trying to echo multiple rows from a MySQL database with no luck. I've tried this code and many other combinations with it, but can't seem to get a result. Quote $query = "select email, mens, womens from newsletters"; $result = mysql_query($query); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) {foreach ($row as .$email. .$mens. .$womens.) {echo "$email - $mens - $womens<BR>";}} What am I doing wrong? Hi Forum I have this script below which i thought would update multiple rows in my database, but all it does is refresh and revert back to its original data. Im guessing my problem is in my update script but I cant seem to find where I have gone wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. <?php $host="*****"; $username="*****"; $password="*****"; $db_name="*****"; $tbl_name="*****"; // Connect to server and select databse. $db = new PDO('mysql:host=' . $host . I have also added the description/explination below to this example: Example 1 The form was completed and three access types were selected. Thus Three entries, all with the Same Reference number were captured into the database Example 2 The form was completed and Two Access Types were selected.
