PHP - Change Database Sort Order With Select Box

I teach 6 different class groups, named "A" to "F", respectively.

I have quite a long .php page but I've attached the end of it. I was wondering if I can change the order it is displayed. Basically $j is a year. And currently it goes from 1894 until 2019. I don't think anything is currently telling it to sort either way, it just by default shows that way. But I want it to show 2019 first and go down to 1894. I had this written for me by someone who I can no longer get hold of.

Hi ho, I am trying to assemble a table so that it shows article in order by id descending. The current one i am using is working but not displaying as i hoped, i need them aligned on the left and right, so id=1 align left, id=2 align right etc. Here's my current code

How can i select the last 3 rows in a table and order it by ASC. When i use DESC it displays the results in the wrong order.

I have 2 tables I have settup called Users_Messages and Users_Message_Replies inside each of these tables I have a row called DateSent, I'm trying to select from both of these tables and only display the latest Sent item by ID and order them all by date. I can get it to display the items correctly using the below code, but I can't get them to order correctly by the latest date in both of the Tables.

I'm a somewhat beginner in php, but i decided to create my own basic forums system with a content managing system. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to make a thread link be at the top of the list for the forum display page, when someone posts a response or creates a new thread. HELP MUCH APPRECIATED 

My data input form is not working with the first few people who have tried to use it.

I think it is because they are putting ' or " or some other character that is not allowed into the database.  Any ideas how I can fix it?

I need to order this in my PHP mysql_fetch_assoc by order id.

What I mean is I need to list them by  order_id: 1,2,3,4

I have used ORDER BY order_id but still it wont work,

I'm trying to sort an array. The array has information about listings. ID, name, info etc.

An unrelated set of data also contains the listing ID's and I have made a function to sort this array and show an new order for the ID's. I now need to sort the original array by this new ID order...

This snippet shows that the original listings array can be sorted by link_id:
sort($this->links, $this->link->link_id); //This works. It sorts links by link ID!

In a foeach loop I have created this:
$sleeps_array[] = array("ID" => $link->link_id, "Sleeps" => $sleeps); // Makes an array of arrays of a custom field with listing ID.

It makes this:
array ( 0 => array ( 'ID' => '9', 'Sleeps' => '2', ), 1 => array ( 'ID' => '3', 'Sleeps' => '4', ), 2 => array ( 'ID' => '6', 'Sleeps' => '6', ), )

I can then sort this array of arrays with this function:

function compare_sleeps($a, $b){
return strnatcmp($a['Sleeps'], $b['Sleeps']);
} # sort alphabetically by name
usort($sleeps_array, 'compare_sleeps');

It then gives me a sorted array according to "Sleeps" (as in, the number of people a property can cater for). It has the correct order of ID to then output but how do I organise the original array by ID with this new array?

Hello everyone , I am new to php  .. I am trying to make website that other people can order my books.So I saw video tutorial
about making shopping cart and everything works , until part when other person need to send me information what ordered.
With paypal it works , but in my country paypal is not available to use , so I want them to send me their details , and I will send them books .
I made database , it works to get their details , but can't get hidden parts , product_id , product_id_array and cartTotal so I can know what they ordered , and how much they need to pay me .. How to "grab" what they ordered , they shopping cart when have products .. Thanks in advance for help ))

I am very new new php (wrote my first PHP script 5 Days ago) and am trying to give myself a crash course but I have hit a pit-stop which is killing me a little!

I hope that title makes sense.... Basically I created PHP script to take data from a database and display in, I then wrote some code to use a drop down menu to order that data. That all worked ok until I tried to utilise some pagination. I can make the pagination work, and I can make the ordering work, but not at the same time! At the moment the code that I have will allow me to order the list and almost paginate it. There are 40 results and I want to display 10 at a time. When not using the ordering code I can paginate it perfectly but when I try to intergrate the two bits of code it will only display the first 10 results and not give me an option to go to the next page to see the rest!

I'm a researcher (and complete coding noob), and am planning a longitudinal study that requires e-mail follow-up with subjects taking an initial survey. For purposes of ethics/anonymity due to sensitive survey data, I'd like the acquired e-mails to be saved uncoupled from the survey responses; this is simple to deal with, and I use a basic PHP e-mail form, which injects the email address in a table in MySQL in a different server than the one used for the survey.

The issue is that the e-mails are saved in the MySQL database in order of injection, thus it is still theoretically possible for me to link the e-mails back to the survey responses (which have a time stamp that I cannot remove).  Ideally I would like not to be able (at all) to link the e-mails to the survey responses, and one way to do that (since I don't save the e-mail injection timestamps in MySQL) might be to have the e-mails saved in MySQL in a random order. Not sure if this is possible, and not even sure if this would be via PHP or MySQL side of things. The server is on godaddy and uses Starfield interface for MySQL but I cannot find an option for random insert/saving of table items (emails). They are saved in order of injection.
Any solution for this?

Hi i am trying to change the query to sort by desc or asc I am using the switch method but the form is not calling the switch statment can someone help me out please?
