I have this simple form that registers schools. This year I have decide to upgrade and include a feature that checks if the school is already registered or not based on the imputed name. Here is the code (that is the only way I know how):

I am trying to incorporate this code somewhere into the 'else' statement but I have no luck. I am constantly getting some errors and when I fix one there is one more to take its place. I am lost. The last one I can not fix and I am not sure what it wants from me:

It works by itself without the if/else statement but not in the code listed above

I am trying to create a query to insert data into a table in my Access database.  I have the following query:

INSERT INTO Issues (DateRequested, CustomerID, ComputerID, Issue, ItemsIncl, ImageName) VALUES (#1/14/2015#, 1, 1, "Computer freezes while I'm on the internet.", "AC Adapter", "none.gif")

which should be performed from within my PHP page.  However, when I check the database afterward, the new record isn't there.  I then tried performing the query directly in Access and it worked fine.  Why would it work in Access, but not when I run the same query in PHP?     Chris

I can log-in, and get to the page with the two links on it. However, once I click one of the links it falls back to the log-in page, and it ends up being a never ending loop.

It's doing this:
Log-In --> Page with links ---> Log-In page again

Should be doing this:
Log-In --> Page with links --> Add Product page or View Products page

I can never get into the the actual sub page.

Just to be clear, the address bar actually shows product=add or product=view, but it still shows the log-in page.

I am new to this forum and PHP world. Doing my first project, a pretty complicated one to start with. I will be needing your help a lot to accomplish it.
Here is the first one.

1. I have a certain field called 'country'
2. I have small flag icons for every country.

WHAT DO I WANT TO DO?

Example - If the country is U.S.A., the U.S. flag shows up and is a link to www.domain.com/usa
If the country is Germany, the German flags shows up and is a link to www.domain.com/germany
If the country is not set, no flag shows up. END.

How do I execute this?

I have a PHP FTP App, where users can log in using a unique code and a password.

Their unique code corresponds to an FTP folder, e.g.

So when the user logs in, they can see their FTP directory and contents, in this case an Inbox and an Outbox.
This works as the FTP folder contains both an Inbox and an Outbox.

The problem I am having is when I try browsing within this directory (say the Inbox), ftp-chdir fails.

I have a hyperlink that sends a 'dir' parameter to the same ftp.php page, and if set, will attempt to change to the given directory.

So even though the URL Hyperlink reads:

....server.co.uk/ftp.php?dir=/FTP_Root/Customer A & Co/Inbox


When you click on this link, the page tries to load:

....server.co.uk/ftp.php?dir=/FTP_Root/Customer A


So my question is what do I need to change, the Hyperlink to read something like:

Do something to the ftp-chdir function, where I encode/decode/whatever to make sure it tries to change to the correct FTP directory?

Or exclude all ampersand entirely?

Building a website for work. I am struggling with the login for some reason. I`m using a lot of the same code as I did for my personal site and a few other websites I`ve programmed which has always worked. But for some reason, it isn`t working now. I`ve already told it to display to me the information that`s being processed and that is all correct (it even updates the database like it`s supposed to). It just won`t show the person being logged in, which defeats the purpose of logging in, yanno?

The problem is that ALL the values, empty or w/content, are being passed. So I was wondering if there was a way to pass only user input with an if/else statement. Something like:

else

This, however, is not working and I would like to know what possibly could work that would be structured similarly. Thanks in advance.

I'm hoping someone here can help me with this. I know very little PHP I'm afraid but I think what I want to do is fairly basic and should be relatively simple.

I have a footer which is referenced on each page of the site with

Within the footer I want it so that if it's the home page (default.php) it displays just the footer but for any other page I want it to display a Div and then the footer.

I don't know that the request uri address is correct but when I've tried to use 'echo $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']' to find out what it should be I can't get that to work either.

I have a simple if statment issue.  Here is the code

if (empty($address)) { echo "You have not entered an address";} 

else {echo "You Have entered an address";}

The variable $address in this case is not empty so it should echo you HAVE entered an address but its echoing NOT.  Can somebody please explain why this is not working?

I've never really had this problem before. I'm trying to make it so only moderators can edit titles.

This is currently my if statement:

elseif($type == 2 && acc_status(getUsername()) > 1 && !isset($_POST['title']) || !isset($_POST['content']))

(I can assure you getUsername() works)

Interpretation: If the editing type is 2 (thread/topic) and the user's account status is higher than 2 (meaning admin & mod) and the title or message/content isn't set, display the content within the if statement block. Why is it users with a user status of 1 can see the information within the block statement, allowing them to see the "edit title" field?
