PHP - Load Data Infile Not Working In Script

Hi guys,

Should be a simple 1.

If i have the following at the top of the page:


$page_views = $row['page_views'] + 1;
mysql_query("UPDATE table SET page_views='$page_views'");


and then the following at the bottom of the page:


echo $row['page_views'];


Should I see the page views as 1 the first time the page is visited, 2 the second time the page is visited, and so on......?
At the moment im seeing 0 on the first page visit, 1 on the second page visit, 2 on the third.....

I had this problem before on another page i was working, and i simply solved it by displaying the mysql query above the echo similar to the code above. However now it does not seem to be working.

Am i missing something really simple? lol

This code saves the files in the following structu

UploadedFiles (Pre-existing folder)
'username' (Subfolder created dynamically on image upload if it doesn't already exist. This folder contains the 'location' folder) 'location' (Subfolder created dynamically on image upload if it doesn't already exist. This contains original image, 'files.xml' and 'Thumbnails' folder) 'Thumbnails' (Subfolder created dynamically on image upload if it doesn't already exist. This contains thumbnail of original image)
I'm now trying to put together a script which creates an image gallery, with those images pertinent to the current user and location. The code below is the piece of my script which deals with the loading of the images.

The initial problem I had, was resolved from guidance I received on this site, and that was to find the correct 'realpath' of the 'Thumbnails' folder and 'files.xml'
These are as follows: Quote

with 'IRHM73' being the 'username' value and '1' the 'location' value.

The problem I now have lies within this line of code:

Because the 'username' and 'location' are dynamic and hence contain different values for each user and location, I've found it impossible to find a way of creating the correct file path to open the 'Thumbnails' folder and 'files.xml'.

The following code does what I want it to, but after it's done doing it, it won't stop loading.
I believe it is because of the while loops (while(1) { ... } and while($data = ...) { ... }). I need while($data = ...) to read the data from the fsockopen.

I am wanting to create a random fact script for a small website project.

The idea is when the user loads a page a random fact will appear at the top ( I guess from an array of strings I will make?)

Hi,   In reference to my first attached image, I have a form which displays two SELECT/drop-down fields (labeled "Store Name" and "Item Description".....and both of which pull-in values from two separate lookup/master tables, in addition to providing an additional option each for "NEW STORE" and "NEW ITEM").   Now, when first-run, and/or if "NEW STORE" and "NEW ITEM" are not selected from the drop-down's then the two fields in green ("New Store Name" and "New Item Name" are hidden, by means of the following code:

  All  of that is working just fine. The problem I'm having is that when I click the "Create" button, after having left any one of the form fields blank, the two "New Name" fields are hidden again, which I don't want to happen i.e. I want them to remain visible (since the values of "store_id" and/or "item_id" are "OTH"), so that the user can enter values into one or both of them, without havng to click on the drop-down a second time in order to execute the "on-click" code.   The second attached image shows how the fields are hidden, after clicking "Create".   How can I achieve that? I'm having a problem and need an answer to why its happening and how to prevent it.

Scenario:

I begin load my home page which starts with a session_start(); .... Before it FULLY completes loading I try to navigate to another page and BOOM, that page will not load and any other page that begins with session_start(); will not load unless I close and restart the entire browser or wait about 10 minutes....

I will note my website makes ajax calls every 5 seconds or so, but I use setTimeout for them.

I currently use fgetcsv to deal with each row and this is taking forever to deal with the data as this is currently the code for each row.

This is performing lots of checks on the csv data and checking it with the system. It checks each row.
Is there a quicker way of reading the csv data? There are lots of checks and while loops within the fgetcsv while loop. It can take upto half an hour to process a file with 1000 csv rows.

I need to rack some peoples brains! 

I have here a script that allows a GSM/ Remote receipt printer to poll for data in a specific format. The issue is that I will be deploying a few 100 of these damn things and need to know what ones are on or off! I can get the time I polls the file and have it writing to a DB table. The only issue is that even with only two printers running its filling up the table fast! Over 600 rows in 30 mins for only two printers!  I need to find out a better way to do this but have the same flexibility in knowing what exact times it was on and off and then to take this data and put into a nice viewable format! This should be safe with a few hundred printers at once. 

Hope someone can help me with this as I am totally stumped! =/

i have a number of variables stored in the $_SESSION array and wanted to know how i can keep them handy for use AFTER PayPal has done it's thing.  to help clarify, the desired process here is client fills out form. clicks PayPal button. form data is then used to create some documents which are then sent to client.  i have the flow working but without the PayPal part because i'm not sure how to preserve the form data while PayPal does it's thing so i can use it when PayPal is done.  am i making sense?  i'd like to steer away from client-side cookies because of security issues and our paranoid client insists on it...

bah.  first the JSON shuffle from JavaScript to PHP and now this PayPal mess.

I need a script to get some data from mysql and put this into a table.

i have a mysql database called "denora"
In there is a table called "chan"
In table chan are the columns: chanid (unique number), channel, currentusers, mode_ls

I would like the script to make a html table that lists the top10 channels (most "currentusers" on top)
And when "mode_ls" is "Y" it must not be shown (secret channel)

My knowledge of php and mysql arent that great so i really hope someone takes the time to help me uit

Hi everyone,

I have created a HTML form for collecting data on a web page, ie, name, email address, etc, which works fine. I have then asked for that data to be emailed to me using the POST action in conjunction with a PHP script called "carparkprocess2.php".

At the moment, the form works OK on the web page, the confirmation message to say the data has been submitted successfully works OK, but the email that should display the information entered into the form doesn't work properly. It comes through and is formatted OK, but the form information is missing.

I've been trying to resolve this issue for 2 days straight now and have tried loads of different things! Can anybody help? I need a quick answer on this one if possible
