PHP - Print_r() Array From Function :: Cannot Get An Print_r() To Output

I am working on modifying some code and wanted to check some variables, but am stuck on something that is probably simple, just over my head.  If I do the following:

print_r ($this);

I get this result (I used PRE tags to format it)

ViewList Object
(
    [_name] => list
    [_models] => Array
        (
            => ModelList Object
                (
                    [_data] => Array
                        (
                            => stdClass Object
                                (
                                    [id] => 70
                                    [catid] => 1
                                    etc......

Moving down, I typed this...

print_r ($this->_models);

and get this...

Array
(
    => ModelList Object
        (
            [_data] => Array
                (
                    => stdClass Object
                        (
                            [id] => 70
                            [catid] => 1

How would I get, for instance, the id?  If I try print_r($this->_models->list);  nothing happens.  In other words, if I wanted to return the id, what would it be --  $this->_models->??? .  I tried all kinds of combination's and other ways to do it, just can't figure it out.  I know it is my limited knowledge with PHP , so could someone point me in the right direction.

Hey guys it's been a long time, but I am back with php!

Anyway here's my dilemma:

test.php

<?php
$name = array('Chris', 'Bob', 'Jack');

$names = print_r($name);
?>


Simple enough right? Well although I am not printing/echoing these results to screen it does it automatically.

Meaning when I point my browser to test.php it outputs this:
Code: [Select]
Array ( [0] => Chris [1] => Bob [2] => Jack )
Rather than only assigning the value to the $names variable, which is what I would expect it to do. Is this normal behaviour or is there something I can change on php.ini?

So I have been printing out some debug information, and now I am trying to instead save it to a string, which I will print out at the end of the page. Here is some specific problematic code:

$myplugin_debug_test.= "\n[GETTING COOKIES...\n";
$myplugin_debug_test.= print_r($myplugin_all_cookies);//THIS IS LINE 38
$myplugin_debug_test.= "\n... DONE]<br/>\n";

However, when I do this I get the following error:

So my question is how can I output the array data into a string, so that I can print it out later.
Like what am I doing wrong? Is there a better way to do this?

the array is getting the values as he should get and from there i send them to $temp (string),but when i'm trying to print them i can't.

the array and the string at the end of code saved the values that the code gave them,but i can print the values one by one, but i need the values in string and the array at the end and print $temp(string) in a row without white space. print_r is working but she's not build to this job 

can someone look at the code and the result of the code and tell me what seem to be the problem and how to fix that?

Here is my function which almost works as expected:

According to my understanding of Arrays, Joe would be index 3 BECAUSE my counter starts at 1 in my for loop??? Why is the result like this? What am I not understanding here?

I have yet again trouble finding a logical solution to my problem.
I'm fetching an array which can hold 1 or more values.
The problem is, I want these values to ouput in my json_encode function, but this also needs to happen dynamically depending on the amount of values.

I can't explain it further, so here's the code so far:

This got me thinking, I also need to dynamically GET the values with jQuery. How would I do that, when the above eventually works?

I am trying to be true to the principle that logic and presentation should be kept separate.

However, the only way to generate dynamic content and output is using something like PHP, so there is somewhat of a conflict.

I just wrote this Function, and I am curious if it breaks the principle above...

Hey Guys,

I'm building a site to view images on, basically the image detail is stored in a database, the site is then accessed and a standard select query is used. I then get the image name etc pulled from the database. Is there a way to save that image name into a variable and get it to display on a form that is run from a function - completely independent to my viewing code...

 

Some sort of global variable, but that could change each time I viewed a different photo - and wouldn't have any effect on anyone else browsing the site etc - so the correct image name would always be passed?

I'm kind of a beginner, but I really need this script and I'm not sure how quite to do it as needed...

With some html forms I need it so you can type a name in then click submit, then (with php) it will save that text into a text file or something. Later, when I hit a different button it will randomly display one of those texts/names from before.

The below is outputting:

So clearly $project_row_num is coming out as an array, and the multiplication is failing because its got a string not a number. I just don't see why it's getting an array out of $project_row_num.

I am having massive problems comparing the out put of array, basically my end result is to choose a selected option on a drop down in a form.

I am trying to compare the output of ['allow-nether'] which is either true or false in my file.

I have an array and I would like to insert commas and the word 'and' to make a sentence using an array.

For example...

$sports = array(baseball, soccer, tennis);

Ted played baseball, soccer and tennis

or

Hi,I   I'm trying to setup Paypal Pro on a website - have everything working - but need to grab the 4th & 6th key values from the results given from the Paypal response and having difficulty with the task.   See the code that prints the response and the response sent from Paypal below - I need to grab the values for  [TRXRESULT] and [TRXRESPMSG]
