PHP - Php Monitor Mysql And Perform Operations At Specific Times

Hello all,

I'm collecting date/time information via a form and would like to convert the info into something that I can stick in my MySql database (a timestamp???).  I'm collecting the current month (variable name: month-- of the form "mm"), day (variable name: day -- of the form "dd"), year (variable name: year -- of the form "yyyy"), time of day (variable name: time -- of the form "h:00"), and before or after noon (variable name: ampm -- of the form "am" or "pm").  Any suggestions as to how to change this into a quantity that I can store as a value and then use to compare to other date/times would be appreciated.

I am trying to get specific data from a MySQL table but cannot seem to find a proper command.

Specifically, I am trying to get the email address stored for the user specified by the session, and display that address.
However, I do not get any output with the current code, and am not sure what to try next. I have tried mysqli_fetch_row() but it only returns an error.

So I have an array of IDs that I would only like to select from a database table instead of everything in the table.

How might I go about doing that?

Hi guys ..   please help me .. I don't know how to do this and I tried but there were no satisfied  results..   I want to retrieve a Title (ing_title) from a database called k_db2 , in a table called content_langs  depending on its ID , which called ing_contID   example: if ing_contID=1 , then show the ing_title with this id ing_contID   the above code should be in a php file ..   then I want to include this php file inside the header of my website.. by importing the ing_contID from the database and depending on it the title should be shown..     I really tried but I couldn't find any solution ..   if you could help me in the first part of this problem I'll be glad ..

Hello.  I have a web page that has several operations on it, and I'm not sure the best way to design it.

This is a subscription page were a user can choose different renewal plans.

Before a certain date, the user can "renew" for a certain lower price (operation #1), or he/she can "upgrade" for a certain lower price (operation #2).

After a certain date, the user can choose from one of three plans (operation #3, #4, or #5).

The way I have things design for the "after" part is just creating a form for each one, so that when a user chooses one of them, then I can take the appropriate actions.

My question is this...

1.) Is it okay to have five forms on the one web page to more clearly delineate each request/operation?

2.) Or should I create one form, and then assign a hidden form value to each button so I know how to handle the selection?

The form works well.

In another PHP I would like to use the three arrays workday[], startTime[] and endTime to calculate the duration between startTime and endTime for each working day. I can access the different arrays using Foreach like below but I don't see how to combine thos arrays in order to be able to calculate the duration between two data that are in diffrent arrays. Is it possible to make calculations using variables stored in different arrays ? If so could you help me understand how ?

Hi All,

Please can someone help me with this bit of code. I have a mysql database with a table called 'events'. I have six fields namely 'ID, mxitID, type, message, ts, publish'.
I am trying to update the field 'publish' from Yes --> No or if it is already No then back to Yes again. I have two files then main one beacon.php and publish.php

I wish to respond specifically to PDO errors.  $e->getMessage() shows something like the following:

SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1452 Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails... SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1062 Duplicate entry ...

I suppose I can just look for 1452 and 1062, but thought using http://php.net/manual/en/pdo.errorcode.php would be better, but it is empty.  I am using Server version: 10.2.18-MariaDB MariaDB Server.  Any suggestions?

I use the datetime datatype for the departure_date_time so i can get data from that data because it checking the date and time   but i want it to check on the date from the datetime datatype   So how can i get the data only with that date without the time in the mysql datetime datatype

Hello,   First of all I'd like to say thank you for all the great information on the forums, I've been reading a lot on here lately.   I've started to make a website where users can log in and submit items to a database, which is then displayed on another page. If Tom and Bill both post 10 items, all 20 items will be displayed on the "listings" page, however on the main log in screen Tom will only see his own 10 items and Bill will see his own 10 items.   This is all working perfectly, however, I now need to add a delete button so that they can delete specific items. I have loosely followed this tutorial here to get the table to display as I want it (amongst a few other things, such as the user logins) http://www.wickham43...mphptomysql.php I've added the delete button in the PHP loop for each row, I just can't figure out how to delete the specific row when clicked.   Any help would be really appreciated

I have created a session based logon system using php and MYSQL from some tutorials I found online which is working very successfully. I can log on and of and move through different pages with no problems.

My query is how do I output or display the information that is specific to the user which is currently logged on and block access to any other users information. I am quite sure there is a simple solution that is escaping me.

If you could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I want to pull some records  plus unique key from one mysql table and then use them as questions in a form/questionnaire.

The post form will have six radio buttons  to the right of the fields pulled with the key posted but hidden and will wirte to another table.

Hello. I'm a newbie so sorry if this isn't the best forum to post my problem.   I am using a MySQL and PHP to create a web app. I have authentication, and I can register users. I also have a form that users provide information and it is successfully inserting data into a table in my database.   I will use fictional fields for my database table called meal_info:   username dateStartedDiet numberMealsPerDay costPerMeal   Problem: Select user-specific data from the MySQL database, using Session username to select only the current user's data, then display it and do some calculations.   Here is thecode at the top, and I am fairly sure it's working:   session_start(); //execute commone code require("common.php"); //includes code to connect to database, etc. if(empty($_SESSION['user'])) 

I Have a protected members section on my site for staff. I would like it so that information specific to that member of staff would appear on their homepage straight after login. Just basic information that is stored on a MySQL database so they can login and check appointments and clients etc for the week etc.

is this something that is possible to do in PHP and MySQL? or am I going mad?

At the moment I have the entire table on the members homepage and the only way I've figured out to specify a member to only show one users information is to use - (SELECT * FROM Tutors WHERE name = 'XXX'. I don't like this method as it would mean i would have to have a separate files for each member. I was hoping I could do something along the lines of - WHERE name = ' relative to the login name used'. but I am sure I am flogging a dead horse here.

So many websites do this kind of thing and I'm surprised after scouring the net for hours and hours that I haven't found any useful information or tutorials on the subject. I am fairly new to programming in PHP and MySQL and am only just getting to grips with the lingo. Maybe I've just been seacrhing the wrong thing, I don't Know.

Any help at all would be amazing and much appreciated, a nudge in the right direction would be a start as I'm getting nowhere on my own
