PHP - Delete Selected

Hi,   I wish to find out is there any possible that I can delete some data inside my php website but inside my sql database, the record will still at there?   Thank you.

I'm trying to set it so that it will delete an entire populated directory based upon a value in the database then after finishing that to go back and delete that row in the database.  my current code is

I have this loop on a shorturl website i own that selects domains from my website and lists them in a dropdown list where users can select one domain to use as url shortener.

The problem is that when a users selects and entry from the dropdown list this created only the [[[main_url]]] entry from the database table bellow can be used. When someone selectes "coolartistname.site.com the submit button cannot be pressed. in other words it's not adding the SELECTED attribute other than the [[[main_url]]] domain.

Can anyone see on the code bellow why this would happen?

When i echo $shortUrlDomains it's just saying "Array" and $_REQUEST['shortUrlDomain'] shows nothing.

Hi all,

I have a html drop down menu and want to show the initially selected value as the one stored in the mysql database that a member selected.

I have 180+ rows in mysql that a member could have selected and would like to basically do this:

IF (value of option == $row['value'] ) { echo "selected=\"selected\"; }
I could put this in every one of the rows it would be much better to have an if statement. As there are so many values I do not know where to begin.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

How can I maintain selected='selected' when the page is reloaded?  I don't want to just echo out what they have selected, but rather maintain which option has been selected.

I have the following which fils a combo box with years from 1950 to 2100. This is the year box for the date of birth.

I want it to automatically display the year that is in the database so instead of automatically displaying 1950 i want their birth year displayed which is $tab_info->user_dob_year. How would i go about this? i dont know where to start since im using a for loop to populate it.

I have managed to get the code below working with a few tweaks here and there.  However, you can see that I have written a small function in the file name local.php to allow the user to select "English" or "German" in the link on the test.php page.

This works fine but it will only work on that particular webpage.  As soon as I move away from that page the locale will return back to "en_US"(English).  Is there a way I could implement lets say an option dropdown and save the locale across the whole site.

Just in case its relevant I have a MySQL DB available for use if thats appropriate.

I have created a query to show the subject name as a drop down box now I would like to you use value to compare what module available in the database.

For now I can disaplyed all the module that is avilable for all the subject. But i would like to use the drop down box to gather which subject they have chosend then use this information to gather the module

Hi

I have been trying to get a value to be selected in a mysql populated dropdown list but can't get it to work and was hoping someone could help

I have a database with user info in it and this is an update page where they can update their details. The code i have (which doesn't work) is:

The $agency value is the current agency which is stored in the users profile and the value does exist in the list which is being populated (also, i have define $agency further up in my code)  so i don't know why the selected value won't display. No value is displayed in the dropdown list on the page - but the values are in the list if i remove the selected='selected' part of the code.

Any help yould be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys, im having a radio button which i need it to be checked if its status is equal to something.

as an example i need to use the checkbox below checked if its field in mysql is equal to male

this is made for a profile page where users can insert their gneder, I know i have to return the value from myslq to check if its equal to radio button value, I can do select mysql_query from my db but how should i say if its match, check the radio button?
can u please help me how to do it?

I have a php form which shows all comments of the webpage  stored in  the database.
When i click on the edit button the corresponding 'comments' datas should appear in the textarea.

I must be missing something simple. I've got this little script that pulls rows from the database to populate a dropdown. If one of them matches a predetermined variable, then I want it to show selected. It's... almost working.

The dropdown prints, and shows the options. But the selected item shows separate, printed just below the dropdown?

Hi guys!
I'm trying to make a <select> button for car positions which displays a set of numbers like 1-5 or 1-10 so on..
I need to remove the numbers that is already been selected.
Selected numbers are stored in the database and i fetch them in a simple query then compared it to the max number of cars.

I have this code, it kinda works but it shows the number 1 which is already been selected.
Selected numbers are 1 and 3, it successfully removes number 3 but not 1,
The output is 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
