PHP - Cronjob Delay Email Script, To Prevent Limit Being Reached On Server.
My host has a limit of 100 emails per hour and this is now being reached to many times a day and some emails are not being sent due to this.
Does anyone have a script or know of one that can stack emails to be sent in MySql or something and every 5 minutes send one out from the stack and then delete from the stack the ones sent. Similar TutorialsI have a script that fetch emails and its work file when I call it through SSH with PHP at the beginning on the path when I added a cronjob it was working fine too... the problem start when I disable the cronjob email response, the script dose not functioning with Imap What can I do in order to bypass this problem, I will try to call it with include but I have no other options.. Please help Hi guys, Basically I am developing a page where the order status of customers are listed in a tabular form, what I need now is to mail these data to my email address at a defined date (e.g. 1st day of next month) automatically. I do not know how to code this since I am just self studying and is still a noob. Thanks. Hello, I am creating a website with the use of php and mysql. While I am not advanced, I've been learning quite a bit on php. However, I am looking to build a tracker type script and hide it into my coding so that if someone were to hack into my website and take my website coding, that it would send me an email notifying that they were using my coding. How would I go about this? If you can help me, i'd be glad to credit you! Thank you! Hello, I have been working on my website lateley and realized that godaddy only allows a 1000 email limit. I am sure this will be fine when the site first launches but if I get more and more users it will cause some issues. How can I fix this? Is there like a function that can bypass this or something??? Thanks in advance :-) i'm in an internal organization sending out reminder emails and reports using PHP.. i have all the right encoding and a internal "from" email address. There is one url included in the email however it is an internal intranet site. Outlook still shows the warning message "this may be a phising message and is potentially unsafe..etc" of course the user can click that and then add to safe list but I would like by default that the emails are safe that way the users don't mistake it for spam. i use this to mail (with some other stuff above) $headers .= 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n"; $headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=UTF-8' . "\r\n"; if (!mail($to,$subject,$message,$headers)) echo "notification email failed to send"; any ideas? do i need to talk to my Exchange administrators and get them to add the from email to their safe list and this won't show up as phishing? hello, I have a form i am using for a raffle that i have weekly. the problem is i want to limit how many times they can register. I am using a basic form that collects name, email, and IP ( which is hidden ). When it gets submitted there is time stamp as well using this date("m/d/y : H:i:s", time() I would like to restict registering by one hour at a time. can you please give me some help with this. I have thought of maybe using cookies, but some of my smarter members can bypass that. So i think i will either use email or IP . any help would be very appreciated Hello all, A simple question: I have a HTML application from which a php script is executed. 'GET' method is used and no form is submitted. I was wondering if there is a way to prevent users from run this php script directly in the browser. Thank you all for your suggestions, Mamer Hi all, I am trying to make a emailscript with PEAR to send quite some people a personalized messaged. But i thought this could very well cause the script to time out. Now i read http://php.net/manual/en/function.set-time-limit.php, but i thought does maybe someone knows a way to prevent a time out instead of setting the time-limit to a larger amount. Some terms i saw floating around we ob_start, flush, sleep and a few others but i really never worked with these. If someone could point me in the right direction of thinking or maybe knows a tutorial or guide i really would love to hear it. Thank you! Hi guys, For a project I made sort of a custom cron database. Database has 4 columns: ID (auto increment), TaskID, DateTime, Locked. I'm running a 1 minute cron in the form of a php script. The script itself starts with a query that loads a task with 'Locked != 'Y' and DateTime < NOW( ). It then locks the task (by flagging the 'Locked' field in the db) and launches another script that finishes it. That last script deletes the task when finished from the cron database. Problem is, at certain peek hours, the system would get laggy, there'd be a bunch of tasks stacking up and it would get behind on the schedule. In order to combat that, I made an extra 1 minute cron, launching the same script. Now, my problem: mysql is too slow In principle, there shouldn't be any problem: all tasks picked up by either instance of the script would be locked so the other instance wouldn't be able to pick up the same task. The problem occurs when both instances are booted at the same time (well, one after the other but with a minuscule time difference between them) and they both at the same time run the query to get a 'free' task from the database: the system will give them both the same task before either of the script instances has the time to lock it up. I'm trying to think of some solutions but I'd like your feedback on what solution would be best. - Putting an exclusive lock on the php file is not an option for me since I still want to run the script, I just need it to pick up an exclusive task. - Other option: having the script open with a random sleep of (1, 10) seconds, it will have the script instances pick up a task at a different time, giving the other instance time to lock it up. Obvious disadvantage: I'm losing time. - Using a file as a flag. Set a directory and create a file in it. Check if this is the only file in the dir, if yes: start right away. Otherwise: go to sleep for 2 seconds (should be plenty of time to run 2 queries in the other instance). What is the fastest method of doing a directory scan though, glob()? My question: what's the fastest/best way to solve this? Thanks! Here is the code that i am using to accept data and display the data. To accept and add it in database i am using : $comment = $_POST['txtcomment']; $comment = @mysql_real_escape_string($comment); To display the data from DB i am using : $comment = $rowscomment['comment']; <?php echo nl2br($comment); ?> Please help me correct it....... I am still learning PHP. Hi, n0obie here. I'm trying to identify where my customers are coming from via emails I've sent/received. However, many email providers (namely Gmail) have circumvented this by disallowing IP address geolocation/image caching. Code: [Select] $sql="SELECT * FROM $tbl_name3 WHERE review_show='n'"; $result=mysql_query($sql); $num_results=mysql_num_rows($result); if($num_results > 1){ $message="You have ".$num_results." reviews unapproved."; mail('example@example.com','GHP Reviews', $message, 'From: example@example.com'); } $sql2="SELECT * FROM $tbl_name4 WHERE rma_issued='n'"; $result2=mysql_query($sql2); $num_results2=mysql_num_rows($result2); if($num_results2 > 1){ $message="You have ".$num_results2." RMA Numbers Requested."; mail('example@example.com','GHP RMA Number Requests', $message, 'From: example@example.com'); } The reviews email is being sent, however, the RMA email is not. EDIT: Nevermind, $num_results and $num_results2 should have been > 0 not > 1. Hi Everyone! Thanks in advance for taking the time to review my post. I am pretty new to PHP so please excuse my ignorance. I am working a project for myself. I want to be able to send out newsletters to my customers and sponsors. I have written the code and here it is: <?php $subject = $_POST['subject']; $message = $_POST['message']; $email = "bubba@bubba.com"; $headers = "From: $email"; $email_list = file("elist.txt"); $total_emails = count($email_list); for ($counter=0; $counter<$total_emails; $counter++) { $email_list[$counter] = trim($email_list[$counter]); } $to = implode(",",$email_list); if ( mail($to,$subject,$message,$headers) ) { echo "The email has been sent!"; } else { echo "The email has failed!"; } ?> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- In my elist.txt file - I have two fields. Name and email. Bubba|bubba@bubba.com Oohay|oohay@yahoo.com If i leave the names out of this file, the email script works great! I want to leave the names in there and reference them in my email that I am sending out to be more personal. Can this be done and can you help? Thanks! Mike Say I have an email info@website.com created in cPanel on a web hosting company. I want to send email notifications to users on my website. I am using PHP Mailer to send the emails. But all the emails go directly into their junk box/spam folder, unless they confirm that info@website.com is not junk. I am wondering if there is a work around for this? Hello guys, I just want to ask if someone can share me codes in php where i can validate the connection of the mail server. I am going to trap this error: Quote Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver.... Instead of this message showing, I want it to be formal. It will be like this: Quote You cannot connect to you're mail server. Please contact the administrator. And lastly I want to have a validation if an email is existing or not. I want a script which checks first the email if it is existing before sending the message. I hope someone will post their idea here. Thanks in Advance. --CHILL Unless buffer overflows or breaking out of code to perform a new command are problems that have been solved.... I am trying to figure out the proper PHP method for setting a boundary on a variable within a script. I have this variable $name which is fed a value from $_POST['name'] from a form field. Now this form field is limited in the HTML to accept only 20 characters, but someone could easily edit the form or outgoing post data. So I want to know how to limit the variable size in the script. In other languages it could be something like this: var name(20). So how do I do that in PHP? I have a question regarding my email form submission. The email seems to work fine, but the recipient of the email can view my server information (see attached image for example) there are many website hosted on my server and i would like to hide the server info on form submissions. does anyone know of a way to do this? thanks Don't have a huge deal of experience with this side of things, well php as a whole really but really struggle with this side, ive coded up a cron but it only works for 1 user, unsure as to why, i want it to do the action for every player that has item 17, the codes below any help would be appreciated, Thanks guys Code: [Select] <?php include("server.php"); $sql = "SELECT * FROM player_inventory WHERE item_id = 17"; $que = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); $res = mysql_fetch_array($que); $sql2 = "SELECT * FROM players WHERE id = $res[player_id]"; $que2 = mysql_query($sql2); while($res2=mysql_fetch_array($que2)) { $Weight = 8 / 100 * (100 + $res2['ProductionWeight']); $Quality = 75 / 100 * (100 + $res2['ProductionWeight']); $StreetCred = $Weight * $Quality / 10; $update = "UPDATE players SET StreetCred = StreetCred + $StreetCred WHERE id = $res[player_id]"; mysql_query($update) or die(mysql_error());; $update2 = "INSERT INTO drug_inventory (player_id,quality,weight) VALUES('$res[player_id]',$Quality,$Weight)"; mysql_query($update2) or die(mysql_error());; echo "Grow Completed."; } ?> Hi, cd /var/www/html/googleplaystore-root-folder && php artisan schedule:run >> /dev/null 2>&1 This is the code developer gave me to add to the cronjob. and the location of my script is /home/vvkpexpj/public_html/example.com
