PHP - Old Newbie Select Record/row With Url Problem
I am learning PHP/MySQL and am modifying a tutorial to make a contact database.
All I want is to be able to make a web page for each contact(record) and display one record on each webpage. I want to use the URL featu "http://www.mysite.com/script.php?=item1" type of thing Can any help me as I can't get it to work. I get no errors - it just doesnt display the info. I'm sure I cant be far off as I've only modified a working script ever so slightly. Not sure if this is the case though, but the manual for xmlreader is sorely lacking info. The input file can easily contain half to a million records, and Gzipped is about 10MB (easily uncompressing to about 70 odd. What is happening, is that I am successfully getting the 'start', 'stop' and 'id' data. But it seems that the while loop is running a further two iterations, and then is grabbing the subject, as the value of $i differs by 2. There for, I am getting empty variables (first first round gets the first 3 pieces of info, and then iteration, and then the subject info. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Forgive me for silly mistakes! Im creating a login/register website and once the person has logged in they get a message saying "Successful login, welcome username!" The php checks against a database of users in an if statement to check if the password is correct and then prints out the message. But at the end of the message the echo is printing out a 1. HI there, i'm using a flash and php form. The problem lie in the PHP I only seem to get the field titles (Name and telephone) coming through and not the data they contain. I have a series of steps a user goes through to add a product. I'm having a problem with the first going to second page. The first page is a form to input information which has a "add" php file that goes with it that basically Posts and Inserts the information into the table, then moves on to the next page. It also auto increments a new id for the product in the table during this process. The problem is I'm trying to get the product id to carry over to the next page so they can review the information they just input. Any ideas on how I can pull that new id by going from that one page to the next with that move (Form>Insert(form action)>EditPage)? My problem is, iam loading with mysql_fetch_array a table from my database and draw it into my website page.
The table is a user table which has an id, user, password and rights(Admin, Mod , User).
Only the rights are given out as <select> </select> boxes with the 3 options(Admin, Mod , User).
And i also have 1 more column which has for each row a href to a new site with the id of the array_index as paramter.
My Problem is i want to know which select box was changed and which option is selected so i can change the rights in my database of this user with the right id.
At the moment i cant post the code in here cause i have a problem with my laptop now.
